If you base your trades on the internal mechanics of Higher Timeframe (HTF) candles—such as tracking the open, high, low, and close of a 1-hour candle while executing on the 1-minute or 5-minute chart—this indicator is built for you.
The Core Concept: Time-Based Candle Behavior: Depending on your strategy in my opinion it is best suited for Time Based Strategies.
This indicator was developed with a specific structural trading strategy in mind (heavily inspired by concepts of "Tom Trades" Candle Behavior Reversal. So respects to him. The core philosophy revolves around observing how a Higher Timeframe candle (e.g., the 1H candle) behaves during its lifespan.
Often, in ranging or consolidating markets, a 1H candle will exhibit a distinct pattern:
First 30 Minutes (The Trap): The market creates a sudden Liquidity Sweep accompanied by an Overextension. This often traps breakout traders.
The Reversal (At ~30 Mins): Right around the midpoint of the candle's lifespan, the market loses momentum, reverses, and creates a Type 3 Market Shift / Break of Structure (BoS) on the lower timeframes.
Last 30 Minutes (The Retrace): The price retraces back into the HTF candle's range, often pulling back up to 50% of the initial overextension before the candle closes.
Because precise timing is everything in this strategy, the Tristan HTF Master visually draws the HTF candle directly onto your lower timeframe chart from the very first second it opens. You can visually track exactly when the 30-minute mark is reached without having to constantly switch timeframes or check the clock.
How to Trade the Strategy Using This Indicator
While this tool can be used for any MTF strategy, here is the optimal step-by-step setup it was designed for:
Market Condition: Identify a ranging market. Avoid massive, aggressive trending environments. Look for longs in the lower third of the range, and shorts in the upper third.
The Setup: Wait for a Liquidity Sweep and an Overextension during the first half of the HTF candle (e.g., the first 30 mins of the 1H box).
The Trigger: Look for a Type 3 Market Shift (Break of Structure) on the lower timeframe, confirming the exhaustion of the overextension.
The Entry: Pull your Fibonacci tool over the Type 3 shift. Place a limit order at the 50% retracement level of that shift (ideally backed by a factual shift confirmation).
Stop Loss (SL): Placed strictly above the local high (for shorts) or below the local low (for longs) of the sweep.
Take Profit (TP): Target the 50% retracement level of the entire initial overextension.

It is important to note: This indicator does not use real-time exchange liquidation API data. Since PulseWire does not provide native exchange-level liquidation feeds for all symbols, this tool uses a Volume-Based Proxy to identify liquidation-like events.

The engine monitors the rate of change in Volume Delta. When a volume spike exceeds a specific Standard Deviation threshold relative to recent activity, it identifies a "Liquidity Flush." ### How it works (the idea, in plain terms)
1. **Price transform** — the math runs on `log(close)`, so a +5% move and a −5% move are treated symmetrically. This matters for crypto's wide range.
2. **Channel deviation** — it measures how far price has stretched from its own moving baseline, then normalizes that by the recent average stretch. The result is a smooth oscillator that swings around zero (roughly between −1 and +1).
3. **Ehlers SuperSmoother core** — instead of a plain EMA, the signal line is smoothed with John Ehlers' 2-pole SuperSmoother filter plus an improved EMA. This gives **less lag and cleaner turns** than a vanilla WaveTrend.
4. **The two lines** — the blue **Signal (sig)** line is the core momentum; the orange **MA** is a short average of it, used as the trigger reference.
5. **Turning points** — when the signal crosses its MA back from an extreme (with recent momentum confirming), the indicator marks a momentum **bottom** or **top**. These are *structural measurement points*, not trade signals.
6. **Divergence** — at each turning point, it compares the current momentum extreme and price extreme against the previous one to classify a divergence.

### Divergences explained
A divergence is when **price and momentum disagree**. There are two families, and they mean **opposite** things — so reading them correctly matters.
**Encoding rule:**
- **Line style = type:** dashed = **regular** (reversal), solid = **hidden** (continuation)
- **Line color = direction:** green = bullish, red = bearish

⚠️ **A green line is not always "buy a reversal."** A *dashed* green line (R↑) means a bottoming reversal; a *solid* green line (H↑) means follow the existing uptrend. Always read the line style.
**A note on reliability (and why hidden divergence is OFF by default):**
In testing across BTC and ETH on 15m, **regular** divergences were the more dependable structural signal, while **hidden** divergences added little. So this indicator foregrounds regular divergences and keeps hidden ones thin, faded, and **off by default**. You can switch them on, but treat them as low-confidence context — not a signal.

### Multi-timeframe (MTF) resonance dashboard
Markets look different on different timeframes, and the strongest reads happen when timeframes **agree**.
The corner dashboard shows the WaveTrend state of **two higher timeframes** alongside your current chart:
- **Auto mode (default):** the two higher timeframes are derived as ×4 and ×16 of your chart. On a 15m chart that's 1h and 4h; on a 3m chart that's 12m and 48m. Switch the chart timeframe and the dashboard adapts automatically.
- **Manual mode:** turn Auto off and pick any two timeframes you like (e.g. 30m and 6h).
Each row shows **Trend** (▲/▼), **Zone** (OB / OS / neutral), and the latest **Divergence** direction. When all three timeframes line up in the same direction, the pane background lights up and the header shows ⚡ — that's "resonance."
The higher-timeframe data is requested **non-repainting**: historical bars never redraw, so what you see on the past is what you would have seen live.

### How to use it
1. **Read the background tint first.** Green = bullish momentum stacking; red = bearish; clear = no decisive trend (range/chop).
2. **Find structure with the dots and columns.** Aqua dots mark momentum bottoms, fuchsia dots mark tops. Full (strong) dots are the cleaner ones. Tall OB/OS columns mean momentum is deep into an extreme.
3. **Read divergences by label, then line style.** `R↑ / R↓` = reversal (fade the move); `H↑ / H↓` = continuation (follow the trend). Green = bullish bias, red = bearish.

TheStrat, developed by Rob Smith, is a price-action framework that classifies every bar by how it relates to the prior bar's range, then reads that structure across multiple timeframes. Every bar is objectively one of a few types, and the way those types stack across timeframes defines whether a move is continuing or reversing.
BAR TYPES
1 (Inside bar): trades entirely within the prior bar's range. High is below the prior high and low is above the prior low. Consolidation by definition.
2u (Directional up): takes the prior bar's high but not its low.
2d (Directional down): takes the prior bar's low but not its high.
3 (Outside bar): takes both the prior bar's high and its low. Range expansion on both sides.
Failing 2 (F2): a bar that was a directional 2 but current price retraces back into the range of the prior candle. WHAT IT DOES
The stop sits at the level where the directional thesis would be invalidated: the prior higher-timeframe bar's high or low, the point where that timeframe prints a directional 2 or 3 against the position.
It assumes entry on the 15-minute timeframe or lower, using the 30-minute and 60-minute as the structural higher timeframes. The indicator behaves identically on any chart resolution at or below 15m. Whether you load it on a 5m or 15m chart, it references the same 15m / 30m / 60m structure.
THREE STATES
Long (blue): stop below price at the relevant higher-timeframe invalidation level.
Short (orange): stop above price.
Neutral (gray): no side is structurally supported, so the indicator stays flat.
Invalidation exits the current side. A reversal happens only if the opposite side is also valid. Otherwise the indicator goes neutral rather than flipping, which avoids the whipsaw of a pure stop-and-reverse model in choppy conditions.
HOW THE STOP IS DERIVED
Base level: the tighter of the prior 30m / 60m extremes (the higher of the two lows for a long, the lower of the two highs for a short).
Tightening: when a higher timeframe closes a directional 2 in your favor, the stop pulls up to that bar's low (long) or down to its high (short).
Failed-2 handling: if a higher timeframe breaks its prior high or low then fails back through it, the stop tightens to the most recent completed 15m level.
3-override (optional): while a bar is a live outside bar (3), the stop holds at that bar's extreme so the expansion can resolve instead of tripping mid-bar.
A direction is only active when the 30m and/or 60m is in a clean 2 or 3 in that direction, not a failed 2, failed 3, or inside bar.

CRSM v1.8 - Currency Relative Strength MonitorCRSM ranks all 28 major FX pairs by activity in real time and surfaces the top 10, so you can focus on the 2–3 worth watching closely. It works by measuring each currency's strength against the trade-weighted basket of eight majors — turning a 28-chart problem into a one-glance dashboard.
This is a dashboard, not a signal generator. It narrows your attention; the decisions to enter, where to place stops, and where to target stay your call, made on the actual pair chart with whatever method you trust.
## How It Works
Every bar, CRSM does three things.
**Measures returns.** For each of the eight currencies, it computes the log return against USD over a lookback window. Log returns are additive across cross rates — log(EUR/JPY) move equals log(EUR/USD) move plus log(USD/JPY) move — so seven USD-anchored prices fully describe all 28 pair returns.
**Centres against the basket.** The eight return values are averaged using BIS turnover-share weighting (USD heaviest, EUR second, NZD lightest). Each currency's return is centred against that average. This puts USD on equal footing — when USD is rallying broadly, USD shows up as strong rather than being the implicit baseline.
**Standardises.** Three sub-measurements — raw momentum, volatility-adjusted momentum, and rolling z-score — are rescaled to a common range and averaged. The result is on a z-score-like scale: ±1 is notable, ±2 is extreme.
Everything else in the indicator is presentation of those numbers.
## Auto-Tuned Per Timeframe
CRSM applies different calibration values depending on the chart's timeframe. Six buckets are defined (1m, 5m, 15m, 1H, 4H, Daily); each picks appropriate values for lookback, smoothing, velocity window, and ranking weights. The dashboard header shows the active bucket (e.g. "TF: 1H") so you always know which profile is in effect. You can drop CRSM onto a 1H chart or a 5m chart and get behaviour appropriate to that TF without retuning.
## What You See
**Chart panel:** eight coloured lines (one per currency), a basket compression line (low = bunched, pre-breakout), a basket mean, ±1σ threshold bands, and a currency-colour legend at the bottom-centre.
**Dashboard (top-right by default):** a compact panel with two sections.
The top section shows basket-level state:
- **Regime** — TRENDING / COMPRESSED / CHOPPY / CRISIS
- **Haven** — RISK-ON / RISK-OFF / neutral (described below)
- **Dominant** — flags when one currency appears in many of the top pairs
- **Compress** — basket dispersion magnitude
- **PC1 / PC2** — macro decomposition (PC1 = USD vs basket, PC2 = commodity bloc vs safe-haven bloc)
- **Basket Vel** — rate of change of average strength
The bottom section is the pair table — 10 rows showing the most active pairs, oriented with the stronger currency on the left. Each row gives both currencies, their individual strengths and velocities, the spread between them, whether the spread is widening or narrowing, and an Activity Score used to rank the rows.
## The Confluent Haven Extreme Detector
The single empirically-validated signal in CRSM, identified via cross-symbol backtest analysis on 8 historical datasets. When two or more of JPY/CHF (the safe-haven bloc) cross beyond ±1.5 strength simultaneously, the indicator flags the risk regime:
- **RISK-ON** — both havens below −1.5. Backtest: non-JPY pairs (GBP/USD, EUR/USD) rallied with 70–88% win rate over the next 20 bars across the test set.
- **RISK-OFF** — both havens above +1.5. Backtest: JPY-quote pairs (AUD/JPY especially) fell with 64% win rate over the next 20 bars across the test set.
When the cell flips, that's a regime context worth reading. The directional bias is set; what to do with it on a specific pair is still your decision on the pair chart. Past backtest results do not guarantee future behaviour.
## The Dominance Flag
When the top 10 pairs are dominated by one currency, the dashboard says so (e.g., "Dominant: USD ×5" means USD appears in 5 of the 10 pairs). This warns that the top list isn't 10 independent trade ideas — it's one underlying theme expressed in multiple correlated ways. The flag shows blue at count 4–5 and red at ≥ 6. Below 4 it stays blank.
## Practical Workflow
A simple 1H swing-trading workflow:
1. **Check the regime first.** COMPRESSED → wait. TRENDING → proceed. CHOPPY → mean-reversion only. CRISIS → reduce size.
2. **Check the Haven cell.** RISK-ON / RISK-OFF sets your bias.
3. **Check the Dominance flag.** If a single currency dominates the top 10, recognise the underlying theme.
4. **Scan the top of the pair table.** High Score plus "widening" Spread Vel marks an active developing setup.
5. **Confirm with PC1 / PC2** if the macro axes align with your read.
6. **Open the actual pair chart and apply your own analysis.** CRSM gets you to which pair. The entry, stop, and target are decisions you make on the pair chart.
7. **Use alerts as awareness, not as entry triggers.**
## Multiple Timeframes
A useful pattern is to run two instances of CRSM on the same chart — a slower one (e.g. 1H) and a faster one (e.g. 5m or 15m). The 1H gives macro context. The 5m/15m shows tactical setups. When the two views agree, the read is high-conviction. When they disagree, the shorter timeframe is usually showing something the longer hasn't absorbed yet.
## Settings
The Settings panel is intentionally compact — TF-dependent parameters are auto-tuned, so most controls are display preferences.
- **Currencies** — turn individual currencies on or off in the basket.
- **Multi-Horizon Strength** — enable a longer-horizon comparison strength used in the analysis.
- **Decomposition Outputs** — toggle PC1 / PC2 plot lines and opacity.
- **Compression & Velocity** — plot toggles (threshold and window are auto).
- **Haven Extreme Detector** — enable, set strength threshold (default 1.5), optional chart-panel tint during haven extreme regimes.
- **Data Source** — OANDA / FOREXCOM / FX_IDC / Futures.
- **Display** — show or hide dashboard elements, dashboard position.
- **Pair Ranking** — number of pairs to display, sort key (Score / Spread Vel / Spread), dashboard text size.
- **Appearance** — colour theme and dark mode.
## Alerts
All alerts fire once on the transition bar, not every bar after:
- **Currency Crossed Upper σ** — any visible currency crossed +1σ
- **Currency Crossed Lower σ** — any visible currency crossed −1σ
- **Compression Release** — basket dispersion just expanded out of compression
- **High-Potential Pair** — top-pair spread exceeded 2× basket dispersion
- **Regime → Compressed / Trending / Crisis** — regime transitions
- **Haven → Risk-On / Risk-Off** — the two haven transitions
## Honest Limitations
**Algebraic completeness ≠ behavioural equivalence.** The 7 USD-anchored prices fully describe all 28 cross-pair returns mathematically. But actual cross-pair behaviour is also affected by pair-specific liquidity, session flow, dealer positioning, and pair-specific volatility clustering. CRSM captures the algebraic structure of FX, not every behavioural nuance. Differences concentrate around news, session opens, and order-flow events.
**Not a timing system.** Strength dynamics give you context, regime read, and pair selection. They don't tell you when to enter or exit a specific trade. Use CRSM alongside your normal chart analysis (structural levels, market structure, indicators you trust) — not in place of it.
**Timeframe behaviour varies.** Even with auto-tune, faster timeframes are inherently noisier and slower timeframes are quieter. The auto-tune calibrates parameters appropriately but cannot change the noise profile of any given TF. The 1m, 4H, and Daily buckets are calibrated from the same scaling logic that backed the 5m / 15m / 1H buckets but have not been independently backtested at the same depth.
**Pair concentration.** When one currency dominates the basket — which is most of the time — the top N pairs cluster around that currency. The Dominance flag warns when this is happening so you don't over-diversify into correlated bets.
