Portfolio Treemap is a visual portfolio monitoring dashboard designed to help traders and investors track multiple holdings directly on the PulseWire chart.
The indicator allows users to enter up to 20 instruments, including stocks, ETFs, crypto pairs, forex symbols, or other PulseWire-supported assets. For each instrument, the user can define the buy price and number of shares or units held. The script then calculates the live market value, cost basis, unrealized profit/loss, and percentage return using real-time chart data.
The dashboard uses a treemap-style layout where larger boxes represent larger portfolio weight based on the selected ranking mode. Box colors show unrealized performance: green for profitable positions and red for losing positions. The stronger the profit or loss percentage, the stronger the color intensity. Empty cells are blended with the chart background for a cleaner and more professional visual appearance.

How to Use:
1. Add the indicator to your chart.
2. Open the indicator settings.
3. Enter your portfolio name.
4. Select each portfolio symbol.
5. Add your average buy price.
6. Add your number of shares or units.
7. Choose how boxes should be ranked: by shares, position value, absolute P/L, or absolute P/L percentage.
8. Use the dashboard to monitor portfolio performance visually.
Color Logic:

0–100 value, auto-detected from your chart symbol across 60+ futures markets. No manual
CFTC code required for supported assets.
**What it measures**
Net positioning (longs minus shorts) from the CFTC Commitment of Traders report,
normalised against a 3-year (156-week) lookback window:
- **100** — net longs at a 3-year high. The crowd is maximally long.
- **0** — net shorts at a 3-year high. The crowd is maximally short.
- **50** — the midpoint of the 3-year range.
- **Above 80** — historically crowded-long zone (red background shading).
- **Below 20** — historically crowded-short zone (green background shading).
Updated every Friday after the CFTC 3:30 PM ET release. The script reads the last
*completed* weekly value, so the printed reading does not repaint intra-week.
**Why a 3-year window?**
Many COT Index tools use a 26–52 week lookback. Short windows produce unstable readings
that jump as old extremes age out of the window. A 156-week window spans a full market
cycle, so an "extreme" reading is extreme relative to years of behaviour — not just the
last few months.

**How to use it**
- Add it to a **Weekly** chart — COT data is weekly; the script warns you on other timeframes.
- Treat readings above 80 and below 20 as *context*, not signals. A crowded-long market
can stay crowded; the index tells you how stretched positioning is, not when it turns.
- Combine with price structure and your own risk rules.
**What the COT Index does — and does not — tell you**
The COT Index answers one question: *where is positioning within its 3-year range?* By
design it does **not** measure how statistically extreme the reading is, whether
positioning is accelerating or unwinding, or whether price and positioning are diverging.
Those are separate calculations on the same underlying data — useful to understand as
their own concepts, but out of scope for a single 0–100 line.

🔍 What it does
This indicator divides the visible price range into four quadrants relative to the current price and distributes volume across price bins, revealing where the most significant buying and selling activity has occurred above and below the market.
Each quadrant displays:
Upper Sell Quad — sell volume concentrated above the current price
Upper Buy Quad — buy volume concentrated above the current price
Lower Buy Quad — buy volume concentrated below the current price
Lower Sell Quad — sell volume concentrated below the current price
A Point of Control (PoC) dashed line marks the price bin with the highest volume in each quadrant.

2. Proxy-First Priority
Unlike a simple fallback system, this indicator uses the proxy as the primary volume source for all mapped symbols. This guarantees consistent, real volume data regardless of the broker you are charting on — whether EasyMarkets, FXCM, or any CFD provider. The native volume is only used if the proxy fails or if you explicitly enable "Force Native Volume" in settings.
3. Daily Session Mode
When enabled, the profile anchors to the start of the current daily session and resets automatically at each new day — useful for intraday traders who want to see only today's volume distribution.
4. Daily VWAP Anchor
An optional Volume Weighted Average Price line anchored to the daily session open, calculated using the same proxy volume logic as the profile for accuracy across all brokers.

Left side bars = dominant directional volume per price bin

Indicator Guide - Apex Edge
This guide explains exactly what the indicator does, how every number is calculated, why the backtest is built the way it is, and how to trade it. Nothing here is hidden behind a black box — the whole point of the tool is that you can see the workings and judge the edge for yourself.
1. What it is
Apex Edge — Trend Breakout is a single overlay indicator that does four jobs at once:
Signals trades when price breaks the recent range in the direction of the dominant trend.
Manages the trade with a chandelier trailing stop, so winners are allowed to run and losers are cut quickly.
Scans a 30-symbol watchlist (the Radar), ranking what is trending and flagging what is about to break.
Tests the rules on the chart symbol across two separate date windows and reports the result as average R and sample size — then auto-grades it Red, Amber or Green.
The thesis.
Most price action is noise. Occasionally a market trends, and when it does, a break of the
recent range tends to continue. The edge of such a system does not come from being right often — it comes from a fat right tail: many small losses when breaks fail, paid for by the occasional large runner that the trailing stop rides for multiples of the initial risk. The tool is built end-to-end to find that behaviour and to stop you fooling yourself about whether it is really there.
2. What appears on your chart
Green and red rails — the upper and lower edges of the breakout channel. A close beyond a
rail is a potential trigger.
Up / down triangles — confirmed entries (a close-break that agrees with the trend).
Orange line — the live trailing stop for the most recent signal. This is where your protective
order goes.
HUD (top-right by default) — the chart symbol's trend, distance to its rail, current setup state, last signal and a running long/short signal count.
Radar — the 30-symbol scanner with score, direction, state and a Red/Amber/Green
“Go” column.
Backtest panel — two date windows side by side, each showing average R and
trade count per side, plus an automatic verdict.
3. The entry signal — how it is calculated
3.1 The breakout channel
The rails are the highest high and lowest low of the last N bars (default 20), measured up to the
previous bar so they never repaint:
upBreak = highest(high, 20) of the prior bar
dnBreak = lowest(low, 20) of the prior bar
A long trigger is a close crossing above the upper rail; a short trigger is a close crossing below the lower rail. Because the test is on the close, an intrabar wick through a rail that closes back inside does not trigger — only a genuine close beyond the range counts.
3.2 The dominant-trend filter
A breakout alone is not enough; it must agree with the trend. Trend is defined by a long EMA (default 200) and that EMA's slope, so a flat market counts as no trend:
Uptrend = close > EMA(200) AND EMA(200) rising over the last 5 bars
Downtrend = close < EMA(200) AND EMA(200) falling over the last 5 bars
Requiring both price position and EMA slope filters out the chop that ruins most breakout systems: if the EMA is flat, neither condition is true and no trades are taken.
3.3 Optional higher-timeframe agreement
You can additionally require the higher timeframe (default daily) to agree, using its last closed bar's EMA so it cannot repaint. With it on, a 4H long also needs the daily to be pointing up. Off by default.
3.4 The final rule
Long = close-break of the upper rail AND dominant uptrend
Short = close-break of the lower rail AND dominant downtrend
With “with-trend only” enabled (the default), counter-trend and flat-market breaks are blocked entirely. The triangle only prints when both halves line up.
4. The exit — chandelier trailing stop, and what “R” means
Risk is defined the moment you enter. The initial stop sits a multiple of Average True Range away from entry (default 1.5 × ATR(14)). That distance — entry to initial stop — is one R. Every outcome the tool reports is measured in multiples of that initial risk.
Once in the trade, the stop trails using a chandelier: it hangs a multiple of ATR (default 3 × ATR)
below the highest high reached since entry (mirrored for shorts). It only ever moves in your favour — it ratchets, never loosens. You exit when price touches the line.
A loss is roughly −1R: the break fails and price falls back to the initial stop.
A win is whatever the trail captures — often small, occasionally very large when a real trend
develops. There is no fixed profit target; capping the winners would throw away the exact tail
the system exists to harvest.
Note Live, you place a resting stop on the orange line and step it along as the line moves. The
backtest exits on the same intrabar touch, so what you test is what you trade.
5. The Market Radar — how the scan is built
The Radar pulls 30 symbols on the scan timeframe (default 4H) and ranks them so you watch the right markets. Four numbers drive it.
5.1 Trend-strength score
The score blends how cleanly a market is moving with how strongly:
Efficiency Ratio (ER) — net distance travelled divided by the total path taken, over a lookback
(default 20). A straight move scores high; a market that thrashes back and forth to end up in the same place scores low.
ER = |close − close | / sum of |bar-to-bar moves over 20 (as a %)
ADX — the standard directional-strength index (default 14).
The two are scaled and blended 55% ER / 45% ADX, calibrated so a market in a genuine trend reads roughly 60–70. Only symbols above the score threshold (default 50) are shown, strongest first.
5.2 Direction, NEAR and the Go grade
Direction comes from the same dominant-EMA logic as the chart (up, down, or flat).
NEAR flags a symbol that is trending and within a set distance of its breakout rail in the trend
direction (default 0.5 × ATR) — i.e. about to trigger.
Go (Red / Amber / Green) is read from your own curated lists. You tell the indicator which
symbols you trade long and short at Green (confirmed) and Amber (testing) confidence; the Go
column then lights up only for those symbols in that direction.
Note The Radar does not grade edges for you — you populate the Green/Amber lists from your own backtest sweep (Section 6). The Go column simply surfaces your decisions on the live scan.
6. The backtest engine and the Auto verdict
This is where you decide whether a symbol earns a place on your lists. For the chart symbol, the engine replays every historical signal forward (up to 60 bars), simulates the exact chandelier trail with intrabar touch exits, deducts your cost per trade, and records each result in R.
It does this across two independent date windows and reports, for each window and each side
(long / short / all):
Avg R — the average result per trade, net of cost. This is the system's expectancy.
N — the number of trades in that window. This tells you whether to believe the Avg R.
The Auto column then turns that into a verdict using two thresholds (defaults shown), applied to both windows:

A Green therefore is not a single good run; it is an edge that survived two separate market periods with a large enough sample in each. That is the bar a symbol must clear before it goes on your Green list.
Note - Cost is entered in price units and applies to the chart symbol, so set it to that instrument's realistic round-trip spread before trusting a marginal (Amber) result. A couple of pips is what flips a thin edge from positive to negative — which is exactly the truth you want before risking money.
7. Why those default backtest dates?
The two windows default to 2019–2021 and 2022–present, and the split is deliberate. These are not two halves of one stretch — they are two genuinely different market regimes:
2019–2021 spans the late-cycle calm, the COVID crash and the violent recovery — a high
volatility, strong-trend era.
2022–present is the rate-hiking regime: broad USD strength, a real equity bear in 2022, and a
different volatility character.
A set of rules that prints a profit in one regime might simply be tuned, by luck or by hand, to that regime. The only honest test is whether the same untouched rules also work in a different one.
Requiring an edge to clear the bar in both windows is the out-of-sample check built directly into the panel. The dates are adjustable — what matters is that the two windows cover different conditions, not the exact years.
8. Why we judge by R and N, not win rate
Win rate is the most quoted and least useful statistic in trading. On its own it tells you almost nothing, and for a system like this it actively misleads.
8.1 Win rate hides the size of wins and losses
Two systems can have wildly different win rates and the opposite profitability. Expectancy — average R per trade — is what actually ties to your account:

System - “High win rate” (avg win +0.5R, avg loss −5R)
Win rate - 90%
Expectancy -0.05R
Reality - Loses money
System - Trend breakout (avg win +3R, avg loss −1R)
Win rate - 40%
Expectancy - 0.60R
Reality - Strong edge
The 90%-winner loses on the rare 5R disaster; the 40%-winner thrives because its winners dwarf its losers. Judge either by win rate and you draw the wrong conclusion. Expectancy = (win% × avg win) − (loss% × avg loss), expressed in R, is the number that matters.
8.2 This system is meant to be a low win-rate system
A trend-breakout-with-trail design is designed to win less than half the time. Most breakouts fail and cost ~1R; a minority become trends and the trail rides them for many R. The profit lives entirely in those few big winners — the fat right tail. Win rate cannot see that tail; only average R can.
Optimising for win rate would push you to cap winners and widen stops, destroying the very edge this tool is built to capture.
8.3 N is what makes the average believable
An average R is only as trustworthy as the number of trades behind it. A +0.8R average on 8 trades is a coin landing heads a few times in a row — it tells you nothing. The same average on 120 trades is a genuine signal. That is why the Auto grade refuses to certify anything below N ≥ 50 per window, no matter how attractive the Avg R looks. Small samples are where traders fool themselves most, so the tool simply will not show Green there.
8.4 How to read an Avg R figure

Bigger is not automatically better. A sustained average above ~+0.40R on a simple system is more often a sign of a mistake than a goldmine, and should be interrogated, not celebrated.
9. How to trade it
The workflow separates the slow, careful job (deciding what to trade) from the fast one (executing when it triggers).
1. Weekly — curate. Flick through your watchlist. On each symbol read the Auto panel and note
the verdict per side. Add Green symbols to the matching Green list (long or short) in settings,
and Amber symbols to the Amber lists. Skip the reds.
2. Set once — the blanket alert. On a 4H chart create the “Watchlist near breakout” alert, set to Once Per Bar Close. It pings only for your Green/Amber symbols when one is trending and
nearing its rail.
3. On the ping — find the trade. Open the Radar. Confirm the symbol shows Green/Amber Go +
NEAR + the right direction.
4. Arm the entry. On that symbol's chart set the “Breakout Long/Short” alert, also Once Per Bar
Close, so only a close beyond the rail can fire it (no wicks).
5. Enter. When the triangle prints, take the trade and place your stop on the orange trailing line.
6. Manage. Step the stop along with the line as it moves your way — never against you. Exit on the touch. No fixed target; let the trail decide.
10. Trading rules and risk discipline
Trade Green in the validated direction. Amber is watch-and-small-size. Red is no trade.
A break against the trend is not your trade. Skip it, however tempting.
Judge over a batch of trades, never one. A single loss says nothing about a positive
expectancy system; variance is the cost of admission.
One settings set for all symbols. Never tune the inputs per symbol to flatter the past — that is
curve-fitting. If you change a strategy setting, re-test both date windows before trusting it again.
Size correlated instruments as one position. A basket of yen crosses, or a basket of equity
indices, is one bet wearing several names. Three 1% longs that all rise and fall together is a 3%
bet on one theme, not three diversified trades.

12. Non-repainting, and honest limitations
Non-repainting by design. Signals use closed-bar prices and the prior-bar channel, the higher
timeframe pull uses the last closed bar, and the backtest only ever replays bars that were already in the past relative to each signal. What you see on history is what you would have seen live.
What a backtest can and cannot tell you. The replay is a simulation. It assumes fills at the touched price and a fixed cost; live trading adds variable spread, slippage, gaps and partial fills. Treat the Avg R as an estimate of edge and direction, not a promise of returns. Forward-test before you scale.
The Green/Amber lists are your own settings inputs — the tool surfaces your decisions, it does not validate them for you.
Correlated symbols inflate the apparent number of edges; the count is not the same as
diversification.
A strong directional drift in an asset class (equities up, for example) can make a one-sided
system look better than the rule itself is.

█ HOW IT DOES IT
FAIR VALUE GAPS
A Fair Value Gap is a 3-candle price imbalance where the gap between
candle 1's extreme and candle 3's extreme was never traded. Institutions
use these gaps as re-entry points — price gravitates back to fill them.
Detection uses a confirmed 3-candle structure with a bar offset so
the current live bar never creates a new FVG. No repainting.
An ATR(14)-based minimum size filter removes micro-gaps that carry no
significance. Raise the multiplier to see only strong imbalances.
Mitigation is tracked in real time. Once price crosses the CE midpoint
(Consequent Encroachment — the 50% level of the gap), the box fades.
When price fully passes through a gap it automatically converts to an
Inversion FVG (IFVG) — former support becomes resistance, box recolors.
Balanced Price Range (BPR) detects spatial overlap between the most
recent bullish FVG and bearish FVG. The overlap zone is where both
buyer and seller imbalances exist at the same price — the strongest
equilibrium area on the chart.
PREMIUM / DISCOUNT ZONES + OTE
ICT divides any dealing range into two halves: Premium (above 50%) where
institutions sell, and Discount (below 50%) where institutions buy.
Swing highs and lows are detected via pivot logic with a configurable
lookback. The range between the last confirmed pivot high and pivot low
becomes the active dealing range.
Two OTE zones are drawn using Fibonacci retracement logic:

DISPLACEMENT
Displacement is not simply a large candle. In ICT theory it marks a
genuine shift of institutional order flow — it must show conviction.
Three conditions must all be satisfied simultaneously:
Body >= ATR(14) x multiplier (default 2.0)
Filters out average volatility, keeps only significant momentum.
Wick-to-range ratio below threshold (default 30%)
A large wick relative to range signals indecision, not displacement.
Formula: (High - Close) / Range for bulls,
(Close - Low) / Range for bears.
Optional volume filter: Volume > SMA(20) x 1.5
Confirms institutional participation behind the move.
Disable for spot Forex where tick volume is unreliable.
Displacement candles are the primary FVG trigger — the gap left behind
a displacement candle is the highest-quality FVG to trade.
INDUCEMENT (IDM)
Inducement is how institutions engineer a false breakout to grab
retail stop-loss liquidity before reversing price the other way.
Detected when price temporarily sweeps beyond a recent swing high or
low and then closes back inside the range. An ATR-based wick filter
ensures only meaningful sweeps qualify — micro-breakouts are excluded.
Bear Trap: price sweeps below a recent low and closes above it.
Bull Trap: price sweeps above a recent high and closes below it.
A 25-bar cooldown prevents label flooding in trending conditions.
The signal still feeds the ISD state machine on every bar regardless.
ISD SEQUENCE STATE MACHINE
ISD stands for Inducement, Sweep, Displacement. This is the complete
3-step institutional setup that ICT traders look for before entering.
The module runs as a persistent state machine tracking progress
across bars in real time:
Score 1/3 — IDM confirmed. Liquidity has been grabbed.
Score 2/3 — A structural sweep of a 5-bar high or low confirmed.
Score 3/3 — A Displacement candle fires in the same direction.
Label appears on chart. State resets automatically.
A 50-bar timeout resets the sequence if no follow-through occurs,
preventing stale signals from contaminating new setups.

Recommended workflow for intraday setups on 1m to 1H timeframes.
Step 1
Check the dashboard Zone. If PREMIUM, look for short setups only.
If DISCOUNT, look for long setups only. Never trade against the zone.

Wait for an IDM label. This confirms retail stop-loss liquidity has
been swept in the direction you are looking to trade.
Step 3
Watch the ISD score reach 2/3 — a structural sweep is confirmed in

Session King - ALMA with Session FilterA session-gated trend strategy that restricts entries to high-liquidity
session windows using ALMA direction bias, with standardised ATR exits
(3 ATR stop, 6 ATR take profit — 2R fixed).
WHAT MAKES THIS ORIGINAL
Most trend strategies fire entries continuously throughout the trading day.
This strategy gates every entry through two independent filters before a
signal is accepted: a directional bias filter (ALMA) and a session timing
filter. Neither filter alone is the edge — the combination is. ALMA without
the session gate fires too many signals in low-liquidity periods. The session
gate without a directional filter trades noise in both directions. Together
they restrict entries to directional moves inside high-liquidity windows
where volume and participation are highest.
COMPONENTS
ALMA (Arnaud Legoux Moving Average, length 9): Direction baseline. Price
above ALMA = long bias; price below = short bias. ALMA applies Gaussian
weighting to reduce lag compared to EMAs of equivalent length, producing
fewer whipsaws at signal transitions.
Session Filter (toggleable): Entries are only permitted during defined
high-liquidity windows. London open (05:45-09:45 GMT), NY AM (12:00-16:00
GMT), and NY PM (19:00-21:00 GMT) can each be toggled independently.
Outside these windows the strategy does nothing. Most false signals in
forex and gold occur during low-volume inter-session periods.
TTM Squeeze (optional, off by default): Based on John Carter's published
TTM Squeeze concept. Compression detection (BB inside KC) is an independent
implementation using Pine built-ins only; Keltner Channel uses ATR via
Wilder's method. No momentum histogram is included — only the compression
gate is used. When Bollinger Bands contract inside the Keltner Channel the
market is in compression and entries are blocked. When BB expands back
outside the KC entries are permitted again. Enables lower-frequency,
post-compression entries when toggled on.
Exits: Fixed 3 ATR stop-loss and 6 ATR take-profit (2R) on every trade.
Position size is calculated so that 1% of equity is risked per trade at
the 3 ATR stop distance.
WHY THIS COMBINATION
ALMA provides direction bias with reduced lag. The session gate ensures
entries only occur when volume and institutional participation are highest.
Fixed ATR exits keep risk consistent across instruments and timeframes and
allow meaningful comparison of strategy performance across different market
conditions.
HOW TO USE
Enable the sessions that match your instrument. London + NY AM is the
default for forex and gold. Enable TTM Squeeze for lower-frequency,
higher-conviction setups. Best suited to 4H and 1H timeframes on XAUUSD,
GBPUSD, EURUSD, and major indices.

A bullish FVG is detected when the current candle structure leaves an imbalance above the candle from two bars earlier.
A bearish FVG is detected when the current candle structure leaves an imbalance below the candle from two bars earlier.
Once a raw FVG is detected, the script stores:
• top of the FVG
• bottom of the FVG
• original FVG direction
• age of the FVG
• gap size relative to ATR
• candle body ratio
• candle range relative to ATR
These values are stored internally and are later used when an inversion happens.
The script then waits for price to break through the stored FVG in the opposite direction.
For a bullish IFVG:
A previously bearish FVG must be broken upward.
For a bearish IFVG:
A previously bullish FVG must be broken downward.
When inversion is detected, the script checks whether the IFVG passes the selected filter mode.

An IFVG can appear while a trade is active, but it will not create a new active TP/SL box.
The dashboard tracks blocked IFVG events internally.
This helps keep the chart structured and avoids multiple overlapping trade boxes.

This avoids overly optimistic historical visual results when the actual intrabar order is unknown.

💡 WHAT IS VWAP AND WHY IT MATTERS
VWAP stands for Volume Weighted Average Price. It is the
average price that all buyers and sellers have paid over a
period of time, weighted by how much volume traded at each
price. Banks, hedge funds and institutional traders use VWAP
as their primary benchmark.
Here is why this matters for you:
When price is far above VWAP, institutions look to sell.
When price is far below VWAP, institutions look to buy.
This creates a gravitational pull — price tends to return
to VWAP after stretching too far in either direction.
Plasma Flow measures exactly how far price has stretched,
whether the stretch is real or just noise, and whether
conditions favor a snap-back entry right now.
📏 WHAT IS σ (SIGMA) — EXPLAINED SIMPLY
Sigma (σ) is a measure of distance from average, adjusted
for how volatile the market currently is.
Think of it like this:
On a calm day, if price moves $10 away from VWAP that might
be extreme. On a volatile day, $10 is nothing — price does
that every 5 minutes. Sigma automatically adjusts for this.
1.0σ = price is moderately stretched from VWAP
2.0σ = price is significantly stretched — reversal zone
3.0σ = price is at an extreme — statistically rare
The outer bands on the chart are drawn at ±1.5σ and ±2.8σ.
When price touches the 1.5σ band, that is your entry trigger.
When price reaches 2.8σ, that is your hard stop and extreme
take-profit zone. No guessing required — the math does it.
🌊 THE 5 MARKET REGIMES — WHAT EACH MEANS
The Regime banner is the first thing to check every time
you open a chart. Here is what each state means in plain
English and what to do in each one:
LAMINAR FLOW — 🟢 Best conditions
The market is moving smoothly and predictably. Price is
trending cleanly without random spikes and reversals.
Institutional flow is dominant — retail noise is low.
What to do: This is when you trade. All signals that fire
in LAMINAR FLOW have the highest probability. Watch for
signal labels and check the Quality Score. LAMINAR + ★★★
or above is your ideal setup.
EXPANSION — 🟡 Momentum building
Price is accelerating away from VWAP. Momentum is building
and the market is starting to trend. This can precede a
breakout or a sharp reversal when it runs out of energy.
What to do: Do not fight the move. If a LONG signal fires
during EXPANSION, it is a trend-continuation play.
If you are already in a trade, hold and trail your stop.
CONTRACTION — 🟠 Energy compressing
Price is pulling back toward VWAP after a stretch. Momentum
is slowing. This is the mean-reversion sweet spot — price
returning from an extreme to its fair value.
What to do: Watch carefully. This is often when the best
reversal signals appear. A SHORT signal during CONTRACTION
after a high-sigma stretch is a high-quality mean-reversion
trade. Check pressure reading — if it is HIGH or EXTREME,
the snap-back is likely strong.
BREAKOUT — 🔴 High volatility, be careful
Price has broken outside the normal bands and volatility
is spiking. This can be a genuine trend start or a stop-hunt
followed by reversal. Either way — unpredictable.
What to do: No new entries. If you are in a trade already,
tighten your stop or take partial profits immediately.
Wait for the regime to stabilize back to LAMINAR before
looking for new entries. Chasing breakouts is where most
retail traders lose money.
CONSOLIDATION — ⚫ No edge, no trade
Price is stuck in a tight range around VWAP. There is no
clear direction and no momentum. Both buyers and sellers
are balanced — nobody is winning. Signals that fire here
have low follow-through and are not worth trading.
What to do: Close the chart and find another instrument.
There is no edge here. Trading consolidation is paying
spread and swap for random outcomes.
🌀 WHAT IS TURBULENCE — THE MOST IMPORTANT NUMBER
Turbulence is the single most important reading in the panel.
Think of it exactly like weather turbulence on a flight.
When turbulence is low — the flight is smooth, you can
walk around the cabin, everything is predictable.
When turbulence is high — even experienced pilots tell
everyone to sit down and buckle up, because they cannot
predict what comes next.
Markets work the same way.
Turbulence measures how erratic current price movement is
compared to the past 50 bars of normal behavior. It compares
right-now volatility to the average volatility baseline.
CALM (below 0.8) — The market is in smooth, predictable flow.
Price movements follow logic. This is when signals fire and
when trades have the highest probability of working.
MIXED (0.8 to 1.3) — Some noise present. Signals still appear
but reduce your position size. Not ideal but tradeable with
caution.
CHAOTIC (above 1.3) — The market is erratic and unpredictable.
No signals fire in this state regardless of what price does.
This is by design — these are exactly the conditions where
indicator-based trading fails and accounts get damaged.
This gating system alone — suppressing all signals when
turbulence is too high — is what separates Plasma Flow
from 90% of indicators on PulseWire that generate signals
regardless of market conditions.
⚡ VELOCITY — IS MOMENTUM REAL OR FAKE?
Standard momentum indicators measure raw price speed.
The problem is that a 50-pip move on a calm Tuesday is
very different from a 50-pip move during NFP news.
Raw speed without context is meaningless.
Plasma Flow measures velocity as price speed divided by
current market noise. This means you are always seeing
momentum relative to what is normal for right now,
not what was normal 3 months ago.
CRASH — Price is collapsing extremely fast relative to
current volatility. A powerful move with real force behind it.
Mean-reversion coming.
FALLING / DOWN — Bearish momentum of varying strength.
FLAT — No meaningful direction. Market is resting.
UP / RISING — Bullish momentum building.
SURGE — Price is spiking extremely fast. Same logic as CRASH
but in reverse — a powerful move that often exhausts itself.
When VELOCITY shows CRASH or SURGE at the same time as
PRESSURE shows HIGH or EXTREME, you have the most powerful
mean-reversion setups the indicator produces.
🔭 WHY 3 TIMEFRAMES INSTEAD OF ONE
Here is a common trap: you are trading on the 15-minute
chart and see a perfect LONG signal. But on the 1-hour chart,
price is in a clear downtrend. You enter long — and price
drops straight through your stop loss.
Your lower timeframe signal was technically correct.
The higher timeframe context invalidated it completely.
Plasma Flow solves this by computing VWAP velocity
independently on three timeframes simultaneously — your
current chart, plus two higher timeframes (default H1 and H4).
It then shows you in the panel whether all three are pointing
in the same direction.
3/3 — Full alignment. All timeframes agree.
Highest conviction entries. Size up.
2/3 — Partial alignment. Two out of three agree.
Acceptable entry. Standard size.
1/3 — Conflicting signals. Timeframes disagree.
Skip the trade entirely. The market has no clear direction.

Every signal gets a score from 1 to 5 stars. Think of this
as a confidence rating that tells you how much to risk.

Only one condition was met. This signal has no edge above
random chance. Do not trade it. Use it only for practice
or study.
★★☆☆☆ WEAK
Minimum threshold reached. Two conditions aligned.
If you trade it, use half your normal position size
and tighter stop. Acceptable for scalpers only.
★★★☆☆ GOOD
Three conditions aligned. This is a genuine signal with
real statistical backing. Standard entry with your
normal risk per trade.
★★★★☆ STRONG
Four conditions aligned. Everything is working together —
pressure, turbulence, and timeframe alignment are all
confirming. This is a high-conviction entry.
Consider sizing up 1.5x your standard risk.
★★★★★ PERFECT
All conditions simultaneously optimal. Extreme pressure,
very clean turbulence, full 3/3 timeframe alignment and
combined condition bonus all triggered at once.
This happens rarely — when it does, it tends to be
the highest quality trade of the week or month.
📋 HOW TO TRADE WITH PLASMA FLOW
Step-by-step — from chart open to trade close
STEP 1 — Open the chart and check REGIME first.
Look at the colored banner at the top of the panel.
LAMINAR FLOW = green light. Anything else = caution or skip.
STEP 2 — Check TURBULENCE.
CALM only for full-size entries. MIXED = half size max.
CHAOTIC = close the chart and find another instrument today.
STEP 3 — Check FLOW BIAS.
Look at the three timeframe arrows. Need 2/3 minimum.
If the arrows conflict (one up, two down or vice versa),
wait for alignment before looking for entries.
STEP 4 — Wait for a signal label on the chart.
▲ LONG appears below price in green.
▼ SHORT appears above price in red.
The label shows star rating and sigma reading.
STEP 5 — Read the sigma on the label.
This tells you how stretched price is right now.
-1.58σ on a LONG means price is 1.58 standard deviations
below VWAP — a meaningful stretch with reversal potential.
Higher absolute value = stronger mean-reversion setup.
STEP 6 — Confirm Quality Score is ★★★ or above.
Below ★★★ = skip or paper trade only.
★★★ to ★★★★★ = real entry with appropriate size.
STEP 7 — Set your stop loss.
For swing trades: just beyond the outer band (2.8σ level).
For scalps and day trades: just beyond the inner band
(1.5σ level on the other side of VWAP).
STEP 8 — Use NEXT TGT as take-profit reference.
The panel shows the nearest VWAP band from current price
with percentage distance. This is your first target.
At minimum take 50% off at NEXT TGT and trail the rest.
STEP 9 — Monitor REGIME while in the trade.
If regime switches to TURBULENT or BREAKOUT after entry,
exit the trade immediately regardless of P&L.
The market conditions that validated your entry no longer
exist. Do not wait for price to confirm — get out.
⚙️ SETTINGS EXPLAINED FOR BEGINNERS
VWAP Window — default 50
This is how many bars are used to calculate the average.
Smaller number = faster, more signals, more noise.
Larger number = slower, fewer but cleaner signals.
Day traders on M15: try 20-30.
Swing traders on H4: try 80-100.
Start with default 50 and only change after you understand
how the indicator behaves on your instrument.
Inner Band σ — default 1.5
This is the trigger line for signals. At 1.5 sigma,
price is moderately stretched — enough to have a reversal
edge but not so extreme that you are always waiting.
Increase to 2.0 if you only want to trade very stretched
extremes. Decrease to 1.2 for more frequent signals.
Outer Band σ — default 2.8
This is the extreme zone. Price reaching here is statistically
rare — less than 5% of the time. Use this as your hard stop
reference and maximum stretch target.
Cooldown Bars — default 5
After a signal fires, no new signal can appear for this
many bars. This prevents the indicator from giving you
3 signals in a row on the same price level.
On M15 increase to 10. On H1 keep at 5.
Reversal Filter — default ON
Requires a real reversal candle (pin bar or engulfing)
for the signal to appear. This removes the majority of
false entries. Keep it ON unless you know what you are doing.
TF 2 and TF 3 — default H1 and H4
The two higher timeframes used for confluence calculation.
For crypto day trading try H4 and D1.
For M5 scalping try M15 and H1.
The default H1 and H4 works well for most forex instruments.
