█ CONCEPT
Traditional candlestick analysis focuses on individual candle patterns. The Candle DNA Strand takes a different approach by decomposing every candle into two core metrics and plotting them as intertwined waves:
• Body Strand — Measures how much of each candle is "body" (the filled portion between open and close). High body ratios indicate conviction and directional commitment.
• Wick Strand — Measures how much of each candle is "shadow" (upper and lower wicks combined). High wick ratios indicate rejection, indecision, or failed attempts at direction.
These two strands are phase-offset by 180° to create the classic double-helix DNA appearance. As you scroll through the chart, you can visually identify periods of conviction (body-dominant) versus indecision (wick-dominant), and how candle character evolves over time.
█ HOW IT WORKS
The indicator calculates two normalized ratios for each candle:
Body Ratio = |Close - Open| / (High - Low)
Wick Ratio = (Upper Wick + Lower Wick) / (High - Low)
These ratios are smoothed and then modulated onto sine waves that twist around a center axis at the 50 level. The amplitude of each strand reflects the strength of that metric — larger bodies push the body strand further from center, and larger wicks push the wick strand further out.
The strands are color-coded by the current candle's bias:
• Bullish candles (close ≥ open) → Neon green tones
• Bearish candles (close < open) → Neon red tones
█ TRADE ZONES
The indicator includes an optional Trade Zone detection system based on candle character analysis:
◉ LONG ZONE (Green Background)
Triggers when:
• Average body ratio exceeds the Body Dominance Threshold (default 65%)
• Bullish momentum score > 40% (more bulls than bears in lookback period)
• Average wick ratio below the Wick Rejection Threshold (default 55%)
This identifies periods where price is moving up with conviction — strong bullish bodies with minimal rejection wicks.
◉ SHORT ZONE (Red Background)
Triggers when:
• Average body ratio exceeds the Body Dominance Threshold
• Bearish momentum score > 40% (more bears than bulls in lookback period)
• Average wick ratio below the Wick Rejection Threshold
This identifies periods where price is moving down with conviction — strong bearish bodies with minimal rejection wicks.
◉ CHOP/INDECISION
When the average wick ratio exceeds 60%, the market is showing high rejection and indecision. The DNA strands will show wick dominance during these periods.
Triangle markers appear at zone entry points:

The indicator automatically detects significant candle patterns based on DNA metrics:
DOJI — Body ratio < 15%
Very small body relative to total range. Indicates indecision.
MARUBOZU — Body ratio > 85%
Almost no wicks. Strong conviction candle with price closing near the high (bullish) or low (bearish).
HAMMER — Wick ratio > 60% with lower wick > 2× upper wick

Strand crossovers:

4. Setup Detection
A complete setup requires two conditions:

When both align, the indicator generates a setup signal with a bold vertical bar and a large directional label.
Use Case: The previous 4-Hour candle closed strongly bearish. On your 15-minute chart, you see price briefly push up into a swing high, then a bearish CISD fires. The indicator marks this as a Bear Setup, telling you expansion to the downside is probable.
5. Candle Tracking (C1 through C4+)
Once a setup triggers, the indicator tracks how many HTF candles have elapsed:

6. Equilibrium + Premium/Discount Zones
The Equilibrium (EQ) is the 50% level of the setup range (from setup high to setup low).

Premium Above EQ Price is expensive — favorable for shorts
Discount Below EQ Price is cheap — favorable for longs

Use Case: After a bullish setup fires, price retraces. You see it enter the discount zone (below 50%). This is your optimal entry area — buying at a discount within a confirmed bullish structure.
7. T-Spot Identification
The T-Spot marks where the higher timeframe candle's wick is anticipated to form — essentially a reversal or continuation point.
Calculation: 23.6% from the setup extreme (based on Fibonacci-like proportioning of the range).
Visual: A dotted line with a thin zone box and "T-SPOT" label.
Use Case: In a bullish setup, the T-Spot sits near the top of the range. If price reaches this level and shows signs of rejection, it may indicate the HTF candle's high wick is forming — a potential point to take profits or expect a pullback.
8. Projection Levels
Once a setup is confirmed, the indicator projects future price targets based on the range between the CISD price and the swing reference point.

The efficiency ratio answers one question: "Of all the movement price made, how much was useful progress?"
🔹 THE MATH
Over a lookback period of N bars:
Net Displacement = |Close - Close |
Path Length = Σ |Close - Close | for all bars
Efficiency Ratio = Net Displacement / Path Length
🔹 INTERPRETATION
• Efficiency = 1.0 (100%): Price moved in a straight line — every tick was progress
• Efficiency = 0.5 (50%): Half the movement was wasted in back-and-forth chop
• Efficiency = 0.0 (0%): Price ended exactly where it started — all movement was noise
🔹 CHOP COST
This is the "wasted movement" — how much price traveled without making progress:
Chop Cost = Path Length - Net Displacement
Chop % = Chop Cost / Path Length
High chop cost means lots of effort for little result — a warning sign for trend traders.

Three efficiency zones:
• GREEN (≥70): High efficiency — strong directional movement
• YELLOW (30-70): Mixed efficiency — some progress, some chop
• RED (<30): Low efficiency — mostly noise, little progress

Liquidity ThermometerThis is a universal indicator that assesses market liquidity based on five key market parameters: volume, volatility, candlestick range, body size, and price momentum.
The indicator does not use open interest data and is suitable for all markets, including spot, futures, and Forex.
This indicator normalizes each metric historically and creates a composite index between 0 and 1, where higher values correspond to a stable and calm market environment, and lower values indicate periods of increased risk and potential liquidity stress.
LT generates an integral liquidity index in the range based on five normalized components:
-nVol — normalized volume, reflecting trading density and activity.
-nATR — the volatility component (ATR), inverted, as high volatility is typically associated with declining liquidity.
-nRange — the normalized candlestick range, also inverted to assess the structural narrowness of the price movement.
-nBody — the normalized candlestick body size (|close − open|), inverted to assess the balance of supply and demand.
-nMove — the normalized value of the price impulse movement (|Δclose|), reflecting short-term price spikes.
Each metric is linearly normalized over a sliding window (200 bars) using the formula:
norm(x) = (x − min) / (max − min),
where at max = min, the value is fixed at 0.5 to ensure stability.
The ALT index is calculated as a weighted combination:
ALT = 0.35 nVol + 0.20 (1 − nATR) + 0.20 (1 − nRange) + 0.15 (1 − nBody) + 0.10 (1 − nMove)
The result is further smoothed using EMA(3) to reduce micronoise.
Red Zone (MLI < 0.25) — Risk, Thin Liquidity
When the indicator falls into the red zone, it means the market is extremely volatile:
Characteristics:
Low volume — small trades have a strong impact on the price.
High volatility — candlesticks rise or fall sharply.
Wide candlestick range — the market is "breathing heavily," easily breaking price extremes.
Impulsive movements — small market shocks lead to sharp spikes.
Thin liquidity — few orders in the order book, large orders "eat up" the market.
What this means for a trader:
🔥 High risk of spikes and false breakouts.
⚠ Possible series of liquidations on leverage.
❌ It is not recommended to enter long or short positions without a filter or protection.
✅ Can be used for short scalping strategies if you know the entry point, but very carefully.
Green Zone (MLI > 0.75) — High Liquidity, Safe Zone
When the indicator rises into the green zone, it means the market is stable and balanced:
Characteristics:
High volume — the market is deep, orders are executed without a strong impact on the price.
Low volatility — candlesticks are stable, no sharp spikes.
Narrow candlestick range — price moves calmly.
Weak impulse movements — no sharp surges.
Sufficient liquidity — the market can handle large orders.
What this means for a trader:
✅ Safe zone for opening positions.
🔄 Easier to set stop-loss and take-profit orders.
💡 You can trade both up and down, the risk of sharp movements is minimal.
⚡ Under these conditions, there is a lower risk of spikes and accidental liquidations.
