RibbonFlux MA - Adaptive Flow [AFD]
Your averages are stacked and pointing the same way - but is that move widening, just holding, or already compressing?
Every MA ribbon on the shelf draws the same two or three lines and floods the gap with one colour at one opacity. So a ribbon that has pulled four ATR apart and is still separating looks exactly like a ribbon that has collapsed onto itself. The fill never tells you anything the lines didn't, which is why most people end up reading the lines and ignoring the shading entirely.
RibbonFlux makes the space between the lines carry the information. The gap is measured against ATR, ranked against its own recent history, and the shading answers to that: it deepens while the legs separate in agreement, and drains to a restrained neutral the moment they compress or lose their order. Same averages you already read - the space between them now states which of four conditions it is in.
WHY IT MATTERS
Separation and compression are the two things an MA ribbon actually knows, and the standard ribbon throws both away by drawing them identically. RibbonFlux spends its whole visual budget on that one distinction. It describes geometry already on your chart - never a prediction of what comes next, and never an instruction to act.
AT A GLANCE
Three independent averages - Lead, Base, and an optional Third. Each picks its own method, length (2-250) and price source, and a single enabled average still draws on its own.
Eight methods per slot - EMA, SMA, WMA, VWMA, HMA, RMA (Wilder), McGinley Dynamic, Fibonacci EMA Composite. Mixed freely: an HMA Lead over an EMA Base over an RMA Third is a valid setup.
Seven price sources per slot - Open, High, Low, Close, HL2, HLC3, OHLC4. Set per average rather than globally, and always on the chart timeframe.
The Flow Phase Engine - four conditions drive the fill's colour and depth: coherent expansion, stable flow, compression, mixed structure. Display only, and they never touch the MA values.
Each leg measured separately - Lead/Base and Base/Third are scored independently, so one fill can be compressing while the other expands. A single-opacity ribbon cannot show that.
Twelve palettes - Ocean, Indigo, Ember, Mono, Forest, Gold, Violet, Orderflow, Midnight, Copper, Arctic, Carbon. Or set Line color mode to Custom for a fixed colour per average, independent of the flow.
Line width and line style - 1 to 4 pixels, and Solid, Stepped, Dotted or Crosses. Applied to every core line and both halo tiers together, so the whole system thins or thickens as one.
Optional flow candles - bodies, wicks and borders take the relationship colour. Off by default, and under Adaptive dynamics they turn neutral during compression along with the ribbon.
Deliberately quiet - seven plots, two fills, one optional candle overlay. No alerts, no arrows, no dashboard, no labels, no boxes, no trendlines, nothing else drawn.
THE FOUR FLOW PHASES
Each leg of the ribbon is classified on every bar, and its own fill responds. Nothing here produces an event, and no phase ranks, scores or grades the market.
Coherent expansion - the enabled averages are in order, sloping the same way, and that leg is widening. Deepest shading: the phase factor is 1.00.
Stable flow - in order and sloping together, but the leg is not widening. Held back at 0.75.
Compression - the leg's ATR-normalized spacing sits in the bottom fifth of its own last 100 bars. Restrained neutral colour, and a phase factor of 0.00, which leaves depth at its 0.35 floor.
Mixed structure - the ordering or the slope agreement has broken. Restrained neutral colour, minimal shading at 0.25.
Compression uses a deadband, not a single threshold: a leg enters compression at a percent rank of 20 or below and only leaves it at 30 or above, so a leg hovering near one number does not flicker between two appearances. Before 100 bars of history exist, no leg is classified as compressed.
THE MECHANICS, STATED PLAINLY
ATR spacing = abs(faster average - slower average) / max(ATR(14), one tick)
leg depth = 0.35 + 0.65 x clamp(ATR spacing, 0, 1) x phase factor, then EMA-smoothed over the Flow response length
compression: enter at percent rank <= 20 over 100 bars, leave at >= 30
ordered: Lead > Base (> Third), or Lead < Base (< Third)
Flow response sets one number used three ways - the slope lookback, the expansion lookback, and the smoothing length: Quick is 2 bars, Balanced 3, Smooth 5. Setting Ribbon dynamics to Fixed bypasses the engine and holds each fill at the opacity you selected.
HOW IT DIFFERS FROM A STANDARD MA RIBBON
The fill is measured, not decorative - opacity is a function of ATR-normalized spacing and phase, recomputed every bar. A conventional ribbon fills the gap at a constant tone however wide or narrow it is.
Both legs are scored on their own terms - the Lead/Base fill and the Base/Third fill can disagree, so compression in the inner leg does not mute the outer one, or the reverse.
Compression is relative to the instrument, and sticky - a percent rank of its own history with a 20/30 deadband, not a fixed price or tick distance. It travels across symbols and timeframes without retuning.
Two methods a ribbon rarely offers - McGinley Dynamic and a Fibonacci EMA Composite. The composite is the equal-weight mean of five EMAs at Fibonacci-scaled periods; McGinley scales its own step by the fourth power of the price ratio.
The arithmetic ships with an independent open-source reference implementation - every documented formula is reproducible rather than asserted. A trust signal, not the pitch: what you are here for is the ribbon, not the tests.
THE VISUALS
Lead and Base - a crisp core line plus two restrained halo tiers each. At the default width of 2 the Lead halos are 6 and 4 pixels and the Base halos 5 and 3; Line width scales all of it together.
Glow - Off, Soft, Balanced, Rich, with opacity following Lead/Base spacing independently of the ribbon. So the lines themselves brighten as the pair separates, with a floor so they never vanish.
Ribbon shading - Off, Soft, Balanced, Rich sets the maximum depth the Flow Phases then modulate. Off removes both fills and leaves the lines.
A valid Third MA - one crisp line plus its own Base-to-Third shade. It also joins the ordering and slope tests, so enabling it makes coherence a three-line condition.
Line style - Stepped holds each value until the next bar. Dotted and Crosses place one mark per bar, so spacing follows bar width and opens up as you zoom in. Pine's plot() has no stroked dotted or dashed line, and this script uses no drawing objects to fake one.
Layering - the lines and fills draw in front of the candles, not behind them. Deliberate, so the optional flow candles can colour wicks and borders as well as bodies; if it reads heavy, Line width 1 or Glow Soft thins it.
HOW TO USE IT
Start with the defaults - Close EMA 9 over Close EMA 21, Ocean, Balanced glow and shading, Adaptive dynamics. Chosen for readability, not tuned as trading parameters.
Enable the Third MA for slower context - it defaults to Close EMA 50. Ordering then requires all three in sequence, a stricter condition than two.
Reach for Flow response first - Quick if the shading feels sluggish, Smooth if it feels twitchy. It is the one control that changes how fast the appearance reacts.
Set Ribbon dynamics to Fixed to switch the engine off - a plain constant-opacity ribbon, for comparing against what you ran before. Everything else, from palette to custom colours to width, style, glow and candle colouring, is taste: set it once and leave it.
WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO
It issues no alerts and has no alert conditions at all. It draws no arrows, entries, retests, setup zones, targets or labels, keeps no dashboard or readout, and ranks, scores and grades nothing. It makes no accuracy, reliability, profitability, probability or future-result claim of any kind. Moving averages are lagging transformations of price that has already printed: visible separation, alignment or colour establishes neither future direction nor the quality of any trade. DATA, TIMEFRAMES, AND WHAT TO CHECK YOURSELF
Everything is computed on your chart's own timeframe and data - there are no higher-timeframe requests anywhere in the source, so there is no lookahead argument to disclose and no second feed to reconcile against your chart.
Any MA moves while its bar is still forming , and two parts of this script also carry state from bar to bar: the McGinley recursion and the compression deadband. That describes the mechanism. Confirm it with the bar-replay tool on your own symbol and timeframe before relying on it - a description of mechanism is not that check, and nothing here claims to be.
The averages read chart OHLC - on Heikin Ashi, Renko, Range or similar they average those synthetic values, not traded prices. Use standard time-based candles if you want the averages to describe real prices.
VWMA needs usable volume, and the Fibonacci EMA Composite needs a length of 8 or more - each is simply unavailable otherwise. A selected calculation that cannot be produced stays unavailable: the script never silently substitutes another method.
McGinley seeds from an SMA of its own length, then advances by previous + (source - previous) / (0.6 x length x ratio^4). If its source or recurrence goes invalid the line goes unavailable and reseeds only after the next contiguous valid window.
Identical Lead and Base settings leave nothing to read - both lines still draw, but the ribbon and flow candles switch off and the lines fall back to neutral. A Third duplicating Lead or Base likewise draws its line while taking no shade and no phase depth.
ORIGINALITY AND CREDIT
Ribbon indicators are old ground; what is new here is that the fill is a measurement rather than a decoration - ATR-normalized leg spacing, a relative compression rank with hysteresis, and per-leg depth, all resolved into colour and opacity and nothing else. The engine is deliberately confined to display, and the surface is deliberately small.

A single technical-bias reading built from 22 of the most widely-charted tools on the platform, 10 oscillators and 12 moving averages condensed into one consensus percentage, a daily persistent Buy/Sell phase, and one fully transparent trade rule.
## Why this exists
I don't personally trade off technical indicators — I think of them mainly as a liquidity layer the market uses, not a forecasting tool. But in a much larger strategy I run privately (4,000+ lines), I tested using a broad technical-consensus reading as a confirmation filter. It didn't add what I wanted there, so I pulled it out.
What was left, though, was a question worth testing on its own: does the crowd's aggregate technical bias — built from the same handful of indicators almost everyone charts with — actually move *with* price, *against* it, or not at all?
My own prior going in is that it's inverse: that a unanimous, textbook-standard reading looks more like a map of where liquidity (stops, obvious entries) is sitting than a map of where price is actually going. This script is that test, built as its own standalone strategy and released openly so anyone can run the same experiment on their own terms. A "Contrarian Mode" exists in the settings for exactly this purpose. The honest answer is probably regime-dependent rather than a fixed sign — trend-following logic (which is most of what's under the hood here) has real, well-documented edge in sustained trends, and only likely loses to the contrarian read in choppier conditions.
## How it works
- **22 inputs, one vote each.** RSI(14), Stochastic(14,3,3), CCI(20), MACD(12,26,9), Awesome Oscillator, Momentum(10), Williams %R(14), Stochastic RSI(3,3,14,14), Ultimate Oscillator, and Bull/Bear Power, plus EMA and SMA at 10/20/50/100/200, VWMA(20), and HMA(9). Each casts **+1 (Buy)**, **-1 (Sell)**, or **0 (Neutral)** using the same conventional thresholds you'd find in most platforms' built-in "Technicals" ratings — nothing exotic or curve-fit.
-**Votes are tallied** into Buy / Sell / Neutral totals across whichever indicators you leave switched on (every one is individually toggleable).
- **Consensus % is the dominant side's share of *all* enabled indicators — including the neutral ones.** A "70% consensus" reading means 70% of everything you've switched on agrees, not 70% of the indicators that took a side. This matters: a busy, trending market with few neutral readings reaches a high consensus % more easily than a quiet one, even at the same buy-to-sell ratio.
- That percentage maps to **four tiers** — Neutral, Buy/Sell, Strong, Very Strong — against your own thresholds (defaults: 45% / 70% / 85%).
- A **Daily Phase state machine** (intraday charts only) turns that instant reading into something more usable: it holds a persistent Buy or Sell phase through the day, only flipping on a genuine reversal of the dominant side. A neutral reading never breaks an established phase, and the phase resets fresh at the start of each new day.
- An optional **EMA-alignment filter** (length and source both adjustable) only allows longs when the full candle sits above the EMA, and shorts when it sits fully below — a candle straddling the line is skipped either way.
- **A trade fires only when three things line up on a confirmed bar:** the daily phase actually flips, that flip's consensus % clears your chosen threshold, and — if enabled — the EMA filter agrees. Reversals are automatic: the opposite entry closes the open position and opens the new one.
- **The on-chart table shows all of it live:** the headline bias, the exact consensus % and tier, a −100/+100 thermal gauge, the day's phase (with the time it started), your current simulated position and P&L, the oscillator/MA vote split, and — if you turn on "Show Indicator Details" — every individual indicator's own vote as a colored badge.
## Built and tested on
Developed and tuned on **BTC, 30-minute chart**. It's fully open — test it freely on any symbol or timeframe. It has also shown some workable behavior on **BNB**, without any promises beyond that. Please don't assume performance carries over to other assets or timeframes without testing it yourself first.
## This is the Lite build — please read before using
This public release intentionally leaves out a number of the filters, sensitivities, and safeguards used in more advanced private versions. Specifically, it does **not** include:
- **Any position-sizing or capital/risk management.** The backtest applies only a flat **0.05% commission** and nothing else — position sizing defaults to 100% of equity per trade precisely *because* sizing and risk management are intentionally out of scope here. Treat the results as a read on signal quality, not on what a properly risk-managed account would actually return. CrosswindCROSSWIND
Crosswind is a signal and trade management indicator built on EMA crossovers, but the crossover itself is only the starting point. Most crossover systems break down in two predictable places. They enter on the cross, which is very often the worst price in the whole move, and they exit at a fixed percentage target, which caps the rare large trends that are supposed to pay for all the small losers. Crosswind addresses both problems and then reports every result net of trading costs, so you can judge whether an edge actually survives the fee schedule.
THREE TIMEFRAME PRESETS
Selecting a trading style sets the EMA pair for you. 15 Min Scalping uses 9 and 21. 1 Hour Swing uses 13 and 48. Daily Trend uses 15 and 150. The preset also sets the width of the trailing stop, since noise that is meaningless on a daily chart will repeatedly eject you from a position on a 15 minute chart.
TREND FILTER
A 200 period SMA gates direction. Long signals are only considered while price trades above it and short signals only while price trades below it. The chart background shades faint green above and faint red below so the active regime is visible at a glance.
TWO SIGNAL MODES
Crossover mode fires when the fast EMA crosses the slow EMA in the direction of the trend filter.
Pullback mode waits. After the fast EMA crosses above the slow EMA, no signal is issued yet. The indicator waits for price to retrace into the slow EMA and then close back across it, within a window of bars that you control. You are buying the first dip after trend confirmation rather than the extension itself. Fewer signals, but a materially better average entry, and your initial stop sits closer to structure.
OPTIONAL MACD CONFIRMATION
A standard MACD can be required to agree with the signal direction. It reduces frequency and filters some counter momentum entries.
HOW A TRADE IS MANAGED
Risk is measured in R, where 1R is the initial stop distance of 2x ATR. Every number the indicator reports is expressed in these units, which makes results comparable across symbols and volatility regimes.
A trade passes through three stages.
Initial stop. Placed 2x ATR from entry. Nothing moves while the trade is proving itself.
Breakeven. Once the trade reaches 1R in your favour, the stop advances to entry plus the full round trip cost plus a small cushion. This is a real breakeven, not a nominal one, so a trade stopped at this stage does not quietly book a small loss.
Trail. Once the trade reaches 1.5R, a chandelier trail arms. It tracks the highest high reached since entry, offset by an ATR multiple, and it only ever ratchets in your favour. The stop line turns blue when the trail is live, so the current stage is always obvious on the chart.
There is no fixed profit target by default. A winning trade runs until the trail takes it out. If you want a cap for comparison purposes you can set a hard target expressed in R.
An alternative EMA trail is included, which follows the slow EMA with an ATR buffer, for traders who prefer a moving average exit.
COST ACCOUNTING
Fees and slippage are charged per side against the actual entry and exit prices, so cost scales properly with price rather than being a flat assumption. Funding is optional and charged per eight hours held, scaled by your chart timeframe. Defaults assume 0.06 percent taker fees and 0.02 percent slippage. Lower the fee if you post maker orders.
This matters more than most traders expect. Cost per trade is roughly twice the round trip percentage divided by the stop distance. On a daily chart with a wide stop this rounds to almost nothing. On a 15 minute chart with a tight ATR it can exceed a tenth of an R on every single trade, which is enough to turn a system with a respectable win rate into a losing one.
READING THE LABEL
The status label reports the live trade state and the closed trade record. Net R and average R per trade are the headline numbers. Gross R and cost drag are shown alongside them deliberately. If cost drag is consuming a large fraction of gross R, the honest conclusion is that the configuration trades too frequently for the size of its edge, and the fix is a stricter entry filter rather than a cleverer exit.
Best and worst trade, win rate, and the outcome of the most recent trade are also shown. Trend following configurations typically produce a win rate below fifty percent while remaining profitable, because the winners are much larger than the losers. Judge the system on average R, not on win rate.
ALERTS
Five alert conditions are available. Long signal, short signal, either signal, stop or trail hit, and trail armed.
THE CONFIGURATION I USE
1 Hour Swing preset with signal mode set to Pullback, and the reversal option left off so that an opposite signal does not close and flip an open position. Trades finish on their own stop or trail, and the next signal is only taken once flat. This produces a lower trade count with cleaner entries and lets the trail do the work of deciding when a move is over.
LIMITATIONS WORTH KNOWING
Signals evaluate on bar close. Stop resolution uses the level carried in from the previous bar before the trail updates on the current bar, which avoids look ahead but means the trail lags by one bar. When a single bar's range covers both the stop and a hard target, the result is scored as a stop, because OHLC data cannot reveal which level was reached first. The statistics are a study of signal quality, not a full backtest, and they assume constant risk per trade with no position sizing or compounding.

## How It Works
The indicator evaluates three distinct layers on every bar:
**Layer 1 — Bias (Trend Regime)**
Defined by price relative to the 50 EMA. Price above = bullish bias. Price below = bearish bias. This is the macro filter — it determines which direction setups should be taken in.
**Layer 2 — Momentum**
Defined by the 10 EMA relative to the 20 EMA. When the fast EMA is above the mid EMA, momentum is bullish. When below, momentum is bearish. Momentum alignment with bias is the confirmation layer.
**Layer 3 — Price vs Fast EMA**
When bias and momentum are aligned but price is on the wrong side of the 10 EMA, the indicator flags a potential pullback or exhaustion condition. In a full bull regime, price dipping below the 10 EMA may represent a high-quality entry opportunity — or an early warning of trend exhaustion. Context determines which.
**Slope Engine**
Each EMA is evaluated for slope using a configurable lookback. RISING / FLAT / FALLING is displayed per EMA in the dashboard. A momentum flip on flat EMAs carries significantly less weight than one on rising or falling EMAs — this is critical for filtering out noise in ranging conditions.
**Price Distance from 50 EMA**
Tracks how extended price is from the slow EMA as a percentage. Large positive or negative readings flag mean reversion risk.
**Bar & Background Coloring**
- Green background + green bars = full bull alignment
- Red background + red bars = full bear alignment
- Yellow bars = conflicting bias and momentum (mixed / transitional state)
- Aqua bars = bull regime, price pulling back below 10 EMA
- Fuchsia bars = bear regime, price popping above 10 EMA
**Cross Signals**
- `M↑` (green) — 10 EMA crossed above 20 EMA in bull zone. Aligned, higher conviction.
- `M↓` (red) — 10 EMA crossed below 20 EMA in bear zone. Aligned, higher conviction.

## Possible Ways to Use It
**Trend Following**
Wait for full alignment — green background, green bars, all three slopes RISING. Only look for long entries. Use the 10 EMA pullback (aqua bars) as a potential entry trigger. Reverse logic for shorts.
**Momentum Flip Entries**
Use aligned `M↑` / `M↓` signals (green/red) as entry triggers when bias and slope confirm. Discard or fade counter-trend orange signals unless you have a specific reason to trade against the regime.
**Regime Filter for Other Systems**
Use the bias layer (price vs 50 EMA) as a filter for another strategy. Only take long signals from your primary system when EMA Pro+ shows bull bias, and vice versa.
**HTF Confluence**
Set the EMA Timeframe to a higher timeframe (e.g. 4H or Daily) while trading on a 15m or 1H chart. The dashboard will show the HTF regime, giving you a structural anchor for your intraday reads.
**Avoiding Chop**
When all three slopes read FLAT and bars are yellow (mixed alignment), the market is in a transitional or ranging state. Consider standing aside or reducing position size until a clear regime re-establishes.
**Mean Reversion Awareness**
When Dist 50 shows a large positive or negative reading, price is extended from the slow EMA. In trending markets this can persist — but it raises the bar for adding to positions and flags potential snapback risk.

The moving-average lines are only the visible base layer. The main contribution is a neutral MA structure layer that quantifies how the enabled moving averages are ordered, clustered, twisting, and positioned relative to the selected source.
This script is designed for traders who want quick structural context from multiple EMA/SMA lines without relying only on visual inspection. It is a context and visualization tool only. It does not provide trade-action instructions and it is not a trading system.
What it shows
- Up to 8 user-configurable EMA/SMA slots.
- A moving-average ensemble centerline.
- The high and low boundary of the enabled MA group.
- Optional fill between the MA bundle boundaries.
- A compact context table.
- Optional factual event labels.
- Neutral alert conditions for structure changes.
The MA lines are useful visually, but the structure layer is the main feature.
Core structure fields
Pairwise Stack Score
The script compares enabled moving averages pair by pair.
For each pair with different lengths, the shorter-length MA is treated as the faster MA and the longer-length MA as the slower MA.
If the faster MA is meaningfully above the slower MA, the pair contributes positively.
If the faster MA is meaningfully below the slower MA, the pair contributes negatively.
If the pair is too close to classify, it contributes as tied.
The Stack Score summarizes this pairwise ordering on an approximate -100 to +100 scale.
A positive Stack Score means shorter MAs are generally above longer MAs.
A negative Stack Score means shorter MAs are generally below longer MAs.
A value near zero means the group is mixed or tied.
Order Purity
Order Purity measures how much of the eligible pairwise structure agrees with the dominant side.
For example, a high positive Stack Score with high Order Purity describes a cleaner upward ordering of shorter and longer averages. A mixed pair structure will usually show lower purity.
Order Purity is descriptive only. It is not a forecast or a trade instruction.
Tie Ratio
Tie Ratio measures how many eligible MA pairs are too close to classify after applying the stack-separation threshold.
A higher Tie Ratio means more of the MA group is structurally tied or compressed into similar values.
Slope Consensus
Slope Consensus measures how many enabled moving averages are rising, falling, or flat over the selected slope lookback.
Each enabled MA receives a slope sign:
- rising
- falling
- flat
The Slope Score summarizes the group on an approximate -100 to +100 scale.
Bundle Width and Width Rank
The script calculates the high and low values of the enabled MA group.
Bundle Width measures the distance between those two boundaries.
Bundle Width % expresses that distance relative to the MA centroid.
Width Rank compares the current bundle width with its own recent history. This is a moving-average bundle context only. It is not a volatility regime and it does not forecast future movement.
Width context can read as:
- Clustered
- Middle width

Twist Rate
Twist Rate describes internal reordering of the MA group.
For each eligible fast/slow pair, the script compares the current pair relationship with the previous bar's relationship. When a pair changes from one ordered side to the other, it counts as a twist.
Twist Rate summarizes how much internal crossing or reordering has occurred over the selected lookback.
This helps distinguish a clean MA structure from a churning or mixed MA group.
Fast/Slow Cohort Spread
The script can compare shorter-length and longer-length MA groups.
The fast cohort contains shorter MAs.
The slow cohort contains longer MAs.
Cohort Spread % compares the average position of the fast cohort with the average position of the slow cohort.
This gives a second view of the structure beyond individual pair comparisons.
Source-vs-Bundle location
The selected source can be:
- Above bundle
- Inside bundle
- Below bundle
- n/a
The script also calculates Bundle Position %, which describes where the source sits relative to the current MA bundle.
Values can be below 0 or above 100 when the source is outside the bundle.
Structure State
The script combines stack ordering, order purity, slope consensus, bundle width context, twist rate, and source location into a neutral state label.
Possible states include:

Structure Age
Structure Age counts how long the current structure state has persisted.
The script uses distinct internal state IDs, so the age resets when the actual structure state changes, not just when broad direction changes.
Structure Fingerprint
The Fingerprint is a compact summary of the current MA structure.

Event labels are optional and off by default.
When enabled, labels are factual and neutral. They describe events such as:

Limitations
Moving averages lag by design.
A clean MA structure does not guarantee continuation.
A churning MA structure does not imply reversal.
MA order can persist, unwind, or flip.
Default lengths are common visual reference points, not optimized settings.
Width and cluster context are descriptive of the enabled MA group and its own history.
Changing enabled MAs, lengths, or thresholds changes the structure readings.

The Absolute Strength Filter calculates:

This value is used as an additional minimum-strength condition.
The default settings are:

• Minimum Absolute Strength: 1.0
• Use Absolute Strength Filter: enabled
ATR normalization helps reduce dependence on the raw numerical scale of a market.
For example, a raw MACD histogram value cannot be compared directly across instruments with very different prices and volatility.
Normalization places the histogram in relation to the instrument’s recent ATR.

The indicator therefore provides two assumptions.
Stop First
If Stop and a target are both touched on the same candle, Stop is processed first.
This is the default and more conservative assumption.
Targets First
Reached targets are processed before Stop.
If TP3 is reached, the model closes at TP3.
Otherwise, remaining portions can close at Stop.

BEDROCK Gated Macro Spot Cycle ModelBEDROCK condenses several independent long-term Bitcoin valuation models into a single transparent 0–100 score, then maps that score onto a seven-tier ladder running from deep value to cycle-top risk — with capitulation and euphoria gates that hold back the two most common false signals at each extreme. It is built for spot investors making multi-month and multi-year allocation decisions, not for short-term trading.

█ WHAT IT DOES
BEDROCK answers one question: where does price sit inside its macro cycle right now? Rather than a single oscillator, it scores a basket of slow-moving valuation measures, normalizes each to a common 0–100 "cheap → expensive" scale, blends them into a weighted composite, and classifies the result into an actionable tier with a suggested accumulation or distribution size. A higher composite means greater long-term value and lower risk; a lower composite means the market is stretched and risk is rising.
█ HOW IT WORKS
The composite is built from four independent blocs, any of which can be reweighted or disabled:
Trailing cost-basis bloc — price relative to the 200-week SMA, the 2-year SMA, and the 200-day SMA (Mayer Multiple). These three are deliberately collapsed into a single averaged, bounded factor so the moving-average family is represented once and cannot dominate the score through collinearity.
Drawdown from all-time high — how far price has fallen from its peak. The heaviest-weighted leg by default.
Weekly RSI — long-term momentum, as secondary confirmation.
MVRV Z-Score (optional) — an on-chain valuation leg you can enable and feed from an external source.
Each metric is mapped to 0–100 through its own linear calibration between a deep-value anchor and an expensive anchor, so every leg speaks the same language before being combined. Weights are auto-renormalized over whatever blocs are actually available — so the model stays coherent on early history where the 200-week isn't yet populated, or when MVRV is turned off. It simply reweights the parts it has.
█ THE TWO GATES — THE CORE IDEA
A raw valuation score has two classic failure modes: it screams "generational buy" on the first leg down of a bear market, and it screams "top" every time price gets mildly extended. BEDROCK addresses both with directional gates that only ever cap the tier toward the middle — they never fabricate a signal, and they never block the core accumulate or trim reads.
Capitulation gate (bottom) — the two deepest tiers stay locked until the market shows genuine capitulation. Generational requires a large drawdown from the all-time high (or a deeply negative MVRV-Z); Deep Accumulation requires price at or below its 200-week basis. Until then the score is capped at Accumulation, so you keep buying value without prematurely committing everything.
Euphoria gate (top) — the two riskiest tiers stay locked until multiple independent overheating signs agree across the 200-week multiple, weekly RSI, the Mayer Multiple, and MVRV-Z. Euphoria requires at least one confirmation; Cycle Top requires at least two. This is what stops the model from calling a top on every rally.
Because both gates only cap toward neutral, accumulation signals are never suppressed and trim signals are never suppressed. The gates restrain only the extreme calls, and only until the evidence is actually there.
█ READING THE INDICATOR
Composite line — the 0–100 score, colored by its current tier.
Background — shaded by tier for at-a-glance cycle context.
Threshold lines — the tier boundaries.
Markers — gated triangles mark transitions into accumulation tiers (up) and distribution tiers (down).
Data table — live composite, current tier, suggested action, both gate states, and every underlying metric (200W and 2Y multiples, Mayer, drawdown, weekly RSI, MVRV).
█ THE SEVEN TIERS
Generational Value — extremely rare deep value; aggressive accumulation.
Deep Accumulation — excellent value; size up.
Accumulation — good value; keep building.
Neutral / Hold — fairly valued; hold.
Expensive / Trim — above fair value; begin scaling out.
Euphoria / Distribute — high risk; distribute and protect profit.
Cycle Top / Exit — extreme; high-probability macro top.
Each tier also outputs a suggested DCA-in or trim-out multiplier, so the signal is sized rather than binary.

Use it on Bitcoin spot or index charts such as BITSTAMP:BTCUSD or $BINANCE:BTCUSDT.
Weekly is the primary timeframe; daily works as a secondary view.
Accumulate through tiers 1–3, hold in tier 4, scale down in tiers 5–6, and treat tier 7 as exit territory.

## How It Works (Under the Hood)
### 1. Support & Resistance Detection
The script uses a multi-layered filter to detect true pivot points:
* **Legacy RSI & Modified RSI:** It evaluates overbought (>75) and oversold (<25) conditions using a 9-period Relative Strength Index.
* **Chande Momentum Oscillator (CMO) based on HMA:** It applies a 1-period CMO logic over Hull Moving Averages (HMA 5 and HMA 12) to detect immediate shifts in market velocity.
* **Close Pivots:** It uses deviation-free highest/lowest calculations (`ta.highest` and `ta.lowest`) combined with `ta.valuewhen` to fetch precise structural levels.
A **Support Zone** is formed only when the RSI is oversold, the CMO shows an upward momentum shift (>50), and a local low pivot is confirmed.
A **Resistance Zone** is formed when the RSI is overbought, the CMO shows a downward shift (<-50), and a local high pivot is confirmed.
### 2. S/R Timeframe Flexibility
Through the `request.security` function, users can plot these adaptive levels from higher timeframes (HTF) onto their current chart. To prevent **repainting** and back-shifting signals, the script strictly uses `barmerge.lookahead_off`.
### 3. EMA Momentum Trigger (The Confirmation Filter)
To filter out false breakouts and premature entries during heavy trend extensions, an EMA filter is introduced:
* **BUY Signal:** Triggered only when a new Support level has been established AND the price successfully closes above the EMA (`ta.crossover`).
* **SELL Signal:** Triggered only when a new Resistance level has been established AND the price successfully closes below the EMA (`ta.crossunder`).
**Strict Discipline:** The script uses an internal state machine (`waitForBuyBreak` / `waitForSellBreak`) ensuring that **only ONE signal** is fired per newly created S/R level. This completely eliminates the "whipsaw" effect (multiple false signals) when the price is consolidating or chopping around the moving average.
