Equity Risk Indicator - BCA-Style ProxyEquity Risk Indicator – Multi-Factor Composite (ERI Proxy)
Overview
The Equity Risk Indicator (ERI) is a standardized, equally-weighted composite that measures how stretched the US equity market is across four independent dimensions: price momentum, investor sentiment, speculative futures positioning, and deviation from the long-term trend. The concept is inspired by institutional risk aggregation frameworks: instead of relying on a single overbought/oversold metric, several uncorrelated risk factors are normalized via z-scores and combined into one oscillator.
Readings above +1 standard deviation have historically clustered near major market tops (2000, 2007, 2018, 2021), while readings below −1 have coincided with washed-out, contrarian buying zones. The indicator is designed as a regime and risk-management tool, not as a standalone entry signal.
Methodology
Each component is transformed into a rolling z-score (default lookback: 500 bars), then all active components are equally weighted, and the resulting composite is re-standardized and smoothed with an EMA. This double standardization keeps the output stable around a zero mean with interpretable ±1 / ±2 SD bands.
1. Composite Momentum Equally-weighted z-scores of the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month rate of change. Captures how extended price momentum is relative to its own history across multiple horizons.
2. Sentiment (inverted) Z-scores of the volatility index (default: TVC:VIX) and the put/call ratio (default: USI:PCA), both inverted. Low implied volatility combined with low put demand signals complacency — historically a late-cycle risk condition.
3. Futures Positioning (COT) Noncommercial net long positions (Legacy report, Long minus Short) for E-mini S&P 500 futures, retrieved via the official PulseWire/LibraryCOT. Elevated speculative net-long positioning indicates crowding. CFTC contract code is configurable (default: 13874A). Note: COT data is weekly, so this component updates in steps on daily charts.
4. Trend Deviation (earnings-expectations proxy) Deviation of the log price from its long-term linear regression (default: ~3 years). When price trades far above its structural trend, aggressive growth expectations are priced in — serving as a proxy for forward earnings optimism, which is not directly available as a data feed.
Each component can be toggled on/off individually. When a data source fails to load, the composite automatically re-weights across the remaining components.
How to Read It
Above +1 SD (red zone): Elevated risk. Momentum, sentiment, positioning, and/or trend extension are stretched simultaneously. Historically associated with topping conditions — consider tightening risk, reducing leverage, or hedging.
Rollover below +1 SD (circle markers): The indicator crossing back under +1 after an overheated reading has historically appeared near cycle peaks. This is the pattern highlighted by the circle markers at the top of the pane.
Around 0 (mean): Neutral regime.
Below −1 SD (green zone): Depressed risk conditions — panic sentiment, washed-out momentum, light positioning. Historically a contrarian accumulation zone.
The data window additionally displays all four component z-scores separately, so you can see at any bar which factor is driving the composite.
Settings
Components: Toggle Momentum, Sentiment, COT Positioning, and Trend Deviation independently
Symbols: Volatility index, put/call ratio, and CFTC contract code are fully configurable
Z-Score Lookback: Standardization window (default 500 bars ≈ 2 years; increase to 750–1000 for a smoother, slower profile)
Trend Lookback: Regression window for the trend-deviation component (default 756 bars ≈ 3 years)
Smoothing: EMA applied to the final composite (default 10)
Alerts
ERI crosses above +1 SD (higher-risk regime)
ERI rolls over below +1 SD (potential peak signal)
ERI crosses below −1 SD (lower-risk / contrarian zone)
Recommended Use
Designed for the daily timeframe on broad US equity indices (SPX, ES1!, SPY). It works best as a macro overlay: as a filter for trend-following systems, as a position-sizing input, or as a hedging trigger. Because all components are standardized, the framework also transfers to other liquid indices — adjust the CFTC code and sentiment symbols accordingly.
Limitations
Earnings revisions and forward EPS growth are not available as PulseWire data feeds; the trend-deviation component serves as a structural proxy for these inputs. COT data is published weekly with a lag. As with any standardized oscillator, extreme readings can persist longer than expected — this tool measures risk conditions, it does not time reversals on its own.

Composite Reversion OscillatorComposite Reversion Oscillator
A short-term mean-reversion oscillator that blends three different "how stretched is this?" reads into one 0–100 line: how overbought/oversold momentum is, how long the current up/down streak has run, and where the latest return ranks against its own recent history. Each measures a different face of over-extension; together they flag exhaustion more reliably than any one alone.
Why these parts are combined (not a mashup for show). A short momentum oscillator flags overbought/oversold but ignores persistence. A streak read (an oscillator of the consecutive up/down-close count) captures persistence it misses — three green closes isn't one. A return-rank read captures the size of the latest move relative to its own norm, which neither of the others sees. Averaging the three yields a composite that only reaches an extreme when momentum, streak and move-size all agree — far fewer false "oversold" prints.
What's different here. Rather than presenting the composite as a fixed rule, it forward-calibrates whether those agreed extremes actually revert on this symbol, with an out-of-sample split and a multiple-testing check — because mean-reversion edges are regime-dependent and decay, which is exactly where symbol-specific honesty matters most. Signals fire once per excursion (no zone-edge whipsaw).
How it works. Component 1: a short-period momentum oscillator of price. Component 2: the same oscillator applied to the signed consecutive-close streak. Component 3: the percentile rank of the latest return within a recent window. The composite is their average, mapped to a ±100 pane. A long fires on the cross up out of oversold (and locks out until the line recovers to mid); a short mirrors it. Each is labelled by a triple barrier — a profit target and equal stop in ATR units plus a time limit — split into in-sample and recent out-of-sample.
How to use. Read the Verdict (Long/Short/Watch/Wait) and the Conviction, which reads "High" only when that turn type shows a positive edge that survives the test here — otherwise it openly says so. Best used with your own trend and risk plan, not alone. Non-repainting.

Momentum Composite Oscillator (MCO)Momentum Composite Oscillator (MCO)
The Momentum Composite Oscillator (MCO) is a multi-factor momentum indicator that combines several widely used momentum metrics into a single normalized oscillator.
The script integrates RSI, MACD momentum, and Rate of Change (ROC) into a weighted composite that is scaled to a 0–100 range. This approach allows different momentum signals to be viewed together in a unified framework.
Core Features
• Composite Momentum Line – Represents the combined momentum reading from multiple indicators
• Signal Line – A smoothed reference line used to highlight shifts in momentum
• Momentum Histogram – Displays the spread between the composite and signal lines
• Momentum Zones – Configurable upper, mid, and lower levels help visualize different momentum regimes
• Cross Markers: Bull cross: Blue Dots, Bear Cross: Orange Dots – Highlight early momentum shifts when the composite crosses the signal line
• Confirmation Markers – Optional follow-through markers that trigger when momentum confirms above or below upper or lower thresholds which may signal major momentum reversals. Bull Confirmation: Green triangles, Bear Confirmations: Red Triangles
• Adaptive Signal Option – Adjusts signal smoothing based on recent volatility
How It Works
The indicator combines three momentum components:
RSI – Measures the relative strength of price movements
MACD momentum – Captures changes in trend acceleration
Rate of Change (ROC) – Measures the speed of price movement
Each component is normalized using a rolling range so they operate on the same scale. Adjustable weights allow users to emphasize different momentum inputs depending on their analytical preference.
The resulting composite can optionally be smoothed to reduce short-term noise while maintaining responsiveness.
Basic Interpretation
When the composite moves above the midline, momentum conditions are generally strengthening.
When the composite moves below the midline, momentum conditions are generally weakening.
Crossovers between the composite and signal line can highlight changes in momentum direction.
The histogram reflects the distance between momentum and its signal, helping visualize acceleration or deceleration.
Customization
The indicator includes several adjustable settings:
Component weights for RSI, MACD, and ROC
Momentum zone levels
Composite smoothing
Adaptive or fixed signal modes
Signal confirmation settings
Visual display options for signals, histogram, and background regimes
Notes
This indicator is designed as a momentum analysis and visualization tool and can be applied to any market or timeframe.

Momentum Pulse█ MOMENTUM PULSE v1.0
Next-Generation Adaptive Momentum Analysis
Blends three orthogonal momentum sources into a single Adaptive Momentum Composite (AMC), enhanced with multi-timeframe confluence scoring and automatic divergence detection. A comprehensive, real-time read on momentum across multiple dimensions — all in one clean, non-overlay panel.
Free and Open Source.
═══════════════════════════════════
█ THE CONCEPT: COMPOSITE MOMENTUM
Traditional momentum indicators measure one thing: RSI tracks mean-reversion, MACD tracks trend acceleration, ROC tracks raw velocity. Each has blind spots. A composite approach eliminates these blind spots by combining all three perspectives into a single normalized reading.
The Adaptive Momentum Composite (AMC) uses Z-score normalization to ensure each component contributes equally regardless of asset type or volatility level — it auto-calibrates to any market.
═══════════════════════════════════
█ CORE ENGINE: ADAPTIVE MOMENTUM COMPOSITE (AMC)
The signature engine combines three Z-score normalized momentum sources:
1. Rate of Change (ROC)
Raw price velocity over N bars. Catches sharp moves early.
2. RSI Deviation
Distance of RSI from the 50-line. Captures overbought/oversold pressure.
3. MACD Histogram
Trend acceleration. Captures the speed of the trend change.
Each component's weight is configurable. The composite is clamped to to prevent extreme outlier distortion.
═══════════════════════════════════
█ TREND STRENGTH METER
Real-time regime classification using adaptive thresholds:
STRONG BULL — AMC above 1.8x its own standard deviation
BULL — AMC above 0.8x standard deviation
NEUTRAL — AMC near zero
BEAR — Mirror of bullish thresholds
STRONG BEAR — Mirror of bullish thresholds
Thresholds auto-calibrate to each asset and timeframe. A visual strength gauge (0–100%) shows momentum intensity at a glance.
═══════════════════════════════════
█ MULTI-TIMEFRAME CONFLUENCE
Polls AMC direction from up to 3 higher timeframes plus the current chart:
Score 4/4 — All timeframes aligned = high-conviction setup
Score 3/4 — Strong alignment with one dissenter = proceed with caution
Score 2/4 or less — Mixed signals = chop zone, reduce position size
Auto-selects appropriate higher timeframes based on your chart. Manual override available.
Auto-Selected Timeframes:
1-3 min chart → 5 min / 15 min / 1 Hour
5 min chart → 15 min / 1 Hour / 4 Hour
15 min chart → 1 Hour / 4 Hour / Daily
1 Hour chart → 4 Hour / Daily / Weekly
4 Hour chart → Daily / Weekly / Monthly
Daily chart → Weekly / Monthly / 3M
═══════════════════════════════════
█ DIVERGENCE DETECTION
Automatic pivot-based detection of four divergence types:
Regular Bullish — Price makes lower low, AMC makes higher low → reversal up
Regular Bearish — Price makes higher high, AMC makes lower high → reversal down
Hidden Bullish — Price makes higher low, AMC makes lower low → trend continuation up
Hidden Bearish — Price makes lower high, AMC makes higher high → trend continuation down
Each divergence is labeled directly on the chart with color-coded markers. Configurable pivot lookback and maximum bar distance between pivots.
═══════════════════════════════════
█ MOMENTUM WAVE VISUALIZATION

Indicator

Keltner-Aroon-EFI FlowKeltner-Aroon-EFI Flow (KAE)
KAE Flow is a quantitative composite indicator designed to identify dominant market trends by fusing three distinct dimensions of price action: Volatility, Trend Age, and Volume Pressure.
Unlike standard indicators that rely on a single data point (like a moving average crossover), KAE Flow aggregates three independent logic engines into a single normalized "Flow" score. This score is then smoothed using an Arnaud Legoux Moving Average (ALMA) to filter out noise while retaining responsiveness to genuine trend reversals.
This script operates strictly on the current chart timeframe, ensuring all signals are causal, non-repainting, and reliable for real-time analysis.
1. The Quantitative Engine (How it Works)
The indicator polls three separate components. Each component votes "1" (Bullish), "-1" (Bearish), or "0" (Neutral). These votes are averaged to create the raw signal.
K — Keltner Channels (Volatility Dimension)
Concept: Measures volatility expansion.
Logic: The script calculates Keltner Channels using an EMA center line and ATR bands.
Bullish (+1): Price closes above the Upper Channel.
Bearish (-1): Price closes below the Lower Channel.
This component ensures we only trade when price is breaking out of its expected volatility range.
A — Aroon (Trend Age Dimension)
Concept: Measures the strength and "freshness" of a trend.
Logic: We utilize the Aroon Up and Aroon Down metrics.
Bullish (+1): Aroon Up is greater than Aroon Down AND Aroon Up is > 70.
Bearish (-1): Aroon Down is greater than Aroon Up AND Aroon Down > 70.
This filters out weak or aging trends, ensuring the move has mathematical momentum.
E — Elder’s Force Index (Volume Dimension)
Concept: Measures volume-weighted price change.
Logic: We calculate the raw Force Index (Close - Close ) * Volume and smooth it with an EMA.
Bullish (+1): Smoothed EFI > 0.
Bearish (-1): Smoothed EFI < 0.
This component confirms that price movement is supported by actual volume flow (accumulation/distribution).
2. Signal Processing (ALMA Smoothing)
Raw aggregation can be noisy. The composite score is passed through an ALMA (Arnaud Legoux Moving Average) filter.
Why ALMA? It uses a Gaussian distribution to provide smoothness without the significant lag associated with SMA or EMA. This creates the "Flow" line that resists false flips during choppy consolidation.
3. How to Use
The indicator plots a signal line and dynamically colors the price bars and background to reflect the dominant bias.
Deep Blue (Bullish Flow): The KAE Score is > 0.1. All three engines (or the majority) are aligned bullishly. Traders typically look for long entries or hold existing long positions.
White (Bearish Flow): The KAE Score is < -0.1. The majority of engines detect bearish volatility and volume. Traders typically look for short entries.
Gray (Neutral): The score is between -0.1 and 0.1. The market is in equilibrium or transition. Trend-following strategies should be paused.
4. Configuration
Logic Engine: You can toggle individual components (K, A, or E) on or off to isolate specific market dimensions.
Smoothing: Adjust the ALMA Window and Offset to fine-tune the sensitivity of the signal line.
Lengths: Fully customizable periods for Keltner, Aroon, and EFI to adapt to different asset classes (e.g., Crypto vs. Forex). Indicator

Smart RSI Composite [DotGain]Summary
Do you want to know the "True Direction" of the market without getting distracted by noise on a single timeframe?
The Smart RSI Composite simplifies market analysis by aggregating momentum data from 10 different timeframes (5m to 12M) into a single, easy-to-read Histogram.
Instead of looking at 10 separate charts or dots, this indicator calculates the Average RSI of the entire market structure. It answers one simple question: "Is the market predominantly Bullish or Bearish right now?"
⚙️ Core Components and Logic
This indicator works like a consensus mechanism for momentum:
Data Aggregation: It pulls RSI values from 10 customizable slots (Default: 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h, 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 12M). All slots are enabled by default.
Smart Averaging: It calculates the arithmetic mean of all active timeframes. If the 5m chart is bearish but the Monthly chart is bullish, this indicator balances them out to show you the net result.
Histogram Visualization: The result is plotted as a histogram centered around the 50-line (Neutral).
🚦 How to Read the Histogram
The histogram bars indicate the aggregate strength of the trend based on the Average RSI:
🟩 DARK GREEN (Strong Bullish)
Condition: Average RSI > 60.
Meaning: The market is in a strong uptrend across most timeframes. Momentum is firmly on the buyers' side.
🟢 LIGHT GREEN (Weak Bullish)
Condition: Average RSI between 50 and 60.
Meaning: Slight bullish bias. The bulls are in control, but momentum is not yet extreme.
🔴 LIGHT RED (Weak Bearish)
Condition: Average RSI between 40 and 50.
Meaning: Slight bearish bias. The bears are taking control.
🟥 DARK RED (Strong Bearish)
Condition: Average RSI < 40.
Meaning: The market is in a strong downtrend across most timeframes. Momentum is firmly on the sellers' side.
Visual Elements
Center Line (50): This acts as the Zero-Line. Above 50 is bullish, below 50 is bearish.
Zone Lines (30/70): Dashed lines indicate the traditional Overbought/Oversold levels applied to the aggregate average.
Key Benefit
The Smart RSI Composite acts as a powerful Macro Trend Filter .
Pro Tip: Never go long if the Histogram is Dark Red, and avoid shorting when it is Dark Green. Use this tool to align your trades with the overall market momentum.
Have fun :)

Macro Return ForecastWhen the macro environment was similar, what annualized return did the market usually deliver next?
Before using the indicator, make sure your chart is set to any US-market symbol (SPX, QQQ, DIA, etc.).
This requirement is simple: the indicator pulls macro series from US data (yields, TIPS, credit spreads, breadth of US indices).
Because these series are independent from the chart’s price series, the chart symbol itself does not affect the internal calculations.
Any US symbol works, and the output of the model will be identical as long as you are on a US asset with daily, weekly or monthly timeframe.
The plotted price does not matter: the macro engine is fully exogenous to the chart symbol.
1. What the indicator does relative to selected assets
In the settings you choose which market you want to analyze:
- S&P500
- Nasdaq or NQ100
- Dow Jones
- Russell 2000
- US-wide (VTI)
- S&P500 sectors (XLF, XLY, XLP, etc.)
For each one, the indicator loads:
- Its internal breadth series (percentage of constituents above MA200)
- Its price history to compute forward log-returns at multiple horizons
- Its regime position relative to its own MA200 (for bull/bear filtering)
This means the tool is not tied to the chart symbol you display.
If your chart is SPX but the indicator setting is “S&P500 Technology”, the expected return projection is computed for the Technology sector using its own data, not the chart’s data.
You can therefore:
- Visualize macro-driven expected returns for any major US index or sector.
- Compare how different parts of the market historically reacted to similar macro states.
- Switch assets instantly to see which segment historically behaved better in comparable macro conditions.
The indicator becomes an analyzer of macro sensitivity, not a chart-dependent indicator.
2. Method overview
The model answers a statistical question:
“When macro conditions looked like they do today, what forward annualized return did this asset usually deliver?”
To do this it combines four macro pillars:
- Market breadth of the selected asset
- Yield curve slope (US 10Y minus 2Y)
- US credit spread (high yield minus gov)
- US real rate (TIPS 10Y)
It normalizes each metric into a 0–100 score, groups similar historical states into bins, and examines what the asset did next across six horizons (from ~9 months to ~5 years).
This produces a historical map connecting macro states to realized forward returns.
It is not a forecast model.
It is a conditional-distribution estimator: it tells you what has historically happened from similar setups.
3. Why this produces useful insights on assets
For any chosen asset (SPX, Nasdaq, sectors…), the indicator computes:
- Its forward return distribution in similar macro states.
- How often these states occurred (n).
- Whether the macro environment that preceded positive returns in the past resembles today’s.
- Whether the asset tends to be more sensitive or more resilient than the broad index under given macro configurations.
- Whether a given sector historically benefited from specific yield-curve, credit or real-rate environments.
This lets you answer questions such as:
- Does this sector usually outperform in an inverted yield curve environment?
- Does the Nasdaq historically recover strongly after breadth collapses?
- How did the S&P500 behave historically when real rates were this high?
- Is today’s credit-spread environment typically associated with positive or negative forward returns for this index?
These insights are not predictions but statistical context backed by past market behavior.
4. Why the technique is robust (and why it matters)
The engine uses strict, non-optimistic data processing:
- Winsorization of returns to neutralize extreme outliers without deleting information.
- Shrinkage estimators to avoid overfitting when bins contain few occurrences.
- Adaptive or static bounds for scaling macro indicators, ensuring comparability across cycles.
- Inverse-variance weighting of horizons with penalties for horizon redundancy.
- HAC-style adjustments to reduce autocorrelation bias in return estimation.
Each method aims to prevent artificial inflation of expected-return values and to keep the estimator stable even in unusual macro states.
This produces a result that is not “optimistic”, not curve-fit, not dependent on chart tricks, and not sensitive to isolated historical anomalies.
5. What you get as a user
A single clean line:
Expected Annual Return (%)
This line reflects how the chosen asset historically performed after macro environments similar to today’s.
The color gradient and confidence indicator (n) show the density of comparable episodes in history.
This makes the output extremely simple to read:
- High, stable expectation: historically supportive macro environment.
- Low or negative expectation: historically weaker environments.
- Low confidence: the macro state is rare and historical comparisons are limited.
The tool therefore adds context, not signals.
It helps you understand the environment the asset is currently in, based on how markets behaved in similar conditions across US market history. Indicator

VWAP Composites📊 VWAP Composite - Advanced Multi-Period Volume Weighted Average Price Indicator
═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
🎯 OVERVIEW
VWAP Composite is an advanced volume-weighted average price (VWAP) indicator that goes beyond traditional single-period VWAP calculations by offering composite multi-period analysis and unprecedented customization. This indicator solves a common problem traders face: traditional VWAP resets at arbitrary intervals (session start, day, week), but significant price action and volume accumulation often spans multiple periods. VWAP Composite allows you to anchor VWAP calculations to any timeframe—or combine multiple periods into a single composite VWAP—giving you a true representation of average price weighted by volume across the exact periods that matter to your analysis.
═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
⚙️ HOW IT WORKS - CALCULATION METHODOLOGY
📌 CORE VWAP CALCULATION
The indicator calculates VWAP using the standard volume-weighted formula:
• Typical Price = (High + Low + Close) / 3
• VWAP = Σ(Typical Price × Volume) / Σ(Volume)
This calculation is performed across user-defined time periods, ensuring each bar's contribution to the average is proportional to its trading volume.
📌 STANDARD DEVIATION BANDS
The indicator calculates volume-weighted standard deviation to measure price dispersion around the VWAP:
• Variance = Σ / Σ(Volume)
• Standard Deviation = √Variance
• Upper Band = VWAP + (StdDev × Multiplier)
• Lower Band = VWAP - (StdDev × Multiplier)
These bands help identify overbought/oversold conditions relative to the volume-weighted mean, with high-volume price excursions having greater impact on band width than low-volume moves.
📌 COMPOSITE PERIOD METHODOLOGY (Auto Mode)
Unlike traditional VWAP that resets at fixed intervals, Auto Mode creates composite VWAPs by combining the current period with N previous periods:
• Period Span = 1: Current period only (standard VWAP behavior)
• Period Span = 2: Current period + 1 previous period combined
• Period Span = 3: Current period + 2 previous periods combined
• And so on...
Example: A 3-period Weekly composite VWAP calculates from the start of 2 weeks ago through the current week's end, creating a single VWAP that represents 21 days of continuous price and volume data. This provides context about where price stands relative to the volume-weighted average over multiple weeks, not just the current week.

🔧 KEY FEATURES & ORIGINALITY
✅ DUAL OPERATING MODES
1️⃣ MANUAL MODE (5 Independent VWAPs)
Define up to 5 separate VWAP calculations with custom start/end times:
• Perfect for anchoring VWAP to specific events (earnings, Fed announcements, major reversals)
• Each VWAP has independent color settings for lines and deviation band backgrounds
• Individual control over calculation extension and visual extension (explained below)
• Useful for tracking multiple institutional accumulation/distribution zones simultaneously
2️⃣ AUTO MODE (Composite Period VWAP)
Automatically calculates VWAP across combined time periods:
• Supported periods: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly
• Configurable period span (1-20 periods)
• Always up-to-date, recalculates on each new bar
• Ideal for systematic analysis across consistent timeframes
✅ DUAL EXTENSION SYSTEM (Manual Mode Innovation)
Most VWAP indicators only offer "on/off" for extending calculations. This indicator provides two distinct extension options:
🔹 EXTEND CALCULATION TO CURRENT BAR
When enabled, continues including new bars in the VWAP calculation after the defined end time. The VWAP value updates dynamically as new volume enters the market.
Use case: You anchored VWAP to a major low 3 weeks ago. You want the VWAP to continue evolving with new volume data to track ongoing institutional positioning.
🔹 EXTEND VISUAL LINE ONLY
When enabled (and calculation extension is disabled), projects the "frozen" VWAP value forward as a reference line. The VWAP value remains fixed at what it was at the end time, but the line and deviation bands visually extend to current price.
Use case: You want to see how price is behaving relative to the VWAP that existed at a specific point in time (e.g., "Where is price now vs. the 5-day VWAP that existed at last Friday's close?").
This dual system gives you unprecedented control over whether you're tracking a "living" VWAP that incorporates new data or using historical VWAP levels as static reference points.
✅ CUSTOMIZABLE STANDARD DEVIATION BANDS
• Adjustable multiplier (0.1 to 5.0)
• Independent background colors with opacity control for each VWAP
• Dashed band lines for easy visual distinction from main VWAP
• Bands extend when visual extension is enabled, maintaining zone visibility

Indicator

Mean Reversion Oscillator [Alpha Extract]An advanced composite oscillator system specifically designed to identify extreme market conditions and high-probability mean reversion opportunities, combining five proven oscillators into a single, powerful analytical framework.
By integrating multiple momentum and volume-based indicators with sophisticated extreme level detection, this oscillator provides precise entry signals for contrarian trading strategies while filtering out false reversals through momentum confirmation.
🔶 Multi-Oscillator Composite Framework
Utilizes a comprehensive approach that combines Bollinger %B, RSI, Stochastic, Money Flow Index, and Williams %R into a unified composite score. This multi-dimensional analysis ensures robust signal generation by capturing different aspects of market extremes and momentum shifts.
// Weighted composite (equal weights)
normalized_bb = bb_percent
normalized_rsi = rsi
normalized_stoch = stoch_d_val
normalized_mfi = mfi
normalized_williams = williams_r
composite_raw = (normalized_bb + normalized_rsi + normalized_stoch + normalized_mfi + normalized_williams) / 5
composite = ta.sma(composite_raw, composite_smooth)
🔶 Advanced Extreme Level Detection
Features a sophisticated dual-threshold system that distinguishes between moderate and extreme market conditions. This hierarchical approach allows traders to identify varying degrees of mean reversion potential, from moderate oversold/overbought conditions to extreme levels that demand immediate attention.
🔶 Momentum Confirmation System
Incorporates a specialized momentum histogram that confirms mean reversion signals by analyzing the rate of change in the composite oscillator. This prevents premature entries during strong trending conditions while highlighting genuine reversal opportunities.
// Oscillator momentum (rate of change)
osc_momentum = ta.mom(composite, 5)
histogram = osc_momentum
// Momentum confirmation
momentum_bullish = histogram > histogram
momentum_bearish = histogram < histogram
// Confirmed signals
confirmed_bullish = bullish_entry and momentum_bullish
confirmed_bearish = bearish_entry and momentum_bearish
🔶 Dynamic Visual Intelligence
The oscillator line adapts its color intensity based on proximity to extreme levels, providing instant visual feedback about market conditions. Background shading creates clear zones that highlight when markets enter moderate or extreme territories.
🔶 Intelligent Signal Generation
Generates precise entry signals only when the composite oscillator crosses extreme thresholds with momentum confirmation. This dual-confirmation approach significantly reduces false signals while maintaining sensitivity to genuine mean reversion opportunities.
How It Works
🔶 Composite Score Calculation
The indicator simultaneously tracks five different oscillators, each normalized to a 0-100 scale, then combines them into a smoothed composite score. This approach eliminates the noise inherent in single-oscillator analysis while capturing the consensus view of multiple momentum indicators.
// Mean reversion entry signals
bullish_entry = ta.crossover(composite, 100 - extreme_level) and composite < (100 - extreme_level)
bearish_entry = ta.crossunder(composite, extreme_level) and composite > extreme_level
// Bollinger %B calculation
bb_basis = ta.sma(src, bb_length)
bb_dev = bb_mult * ta.stdev(src, bb_length)
bb_percent = (src - bb_lower) / (bb_upper - bb_lower) * 100
🔶 Extreme Zone Identification
The system automatically identifies when markets reach statistically significant extreme levels, both moderate (65/35) and extreme (80/20). These zones represent areas where mean reversion has the highest probability of success based on historical market behavior.
🔶 Momentum Histogram Analysis
A specialized momentum histogram tracks the velocity of oscillator changes, helping traders distinguish between healthy corrections and potential trend reversals. The histogram's color-coded display makes momentum shifts immediately apparent.
🔶 Divergence Detection Framework
Built-in divergence analysis identifies situations where price and oscillator movements diverge, often signaling impending reversals. Diamond-shaped markers highlight these critical divergence patterns for enhanced pattern recognition.
🔶 Real-Time Information Dashboard
An integrated information table provides instant access to current oscillator readings, market status, and individual component values. This dashboard eliminates the need to manually check multiple indicators while trading.
🔶 Individual Component Display
Optional display of individual oscillator components allows traders to understand which specific indicators are driving the composite signal. This transparency enables more informed decision-making and deeper market analysis.
🔶 Adaptive Background Coloring
Intelligent background shading automatically adjusts based on market conditions, creating visual zones that correspond to different levels of mean reversion potential. The subtle color gradations make pattern recognition effortless.

🔶 Comprehensive Alert System
Multi-tier alert system covers confirmed entry signals, divergence patterns, and extreme level breaches. Each alert type provides specific context about the detected condition, enabling traders to respond appropriately to different signal strengths.
🔶 Customizable Threshold Management
Fully adjustable extreme and moderate levels allow traders to fine-tune the indicator's sensitivity to match different market volatilities and trading timeframes. This flexibility ensures optimal performance across various market conditions.
🔶 Why Choose AE - Mean Reversion Oscillator?
This indicator provides the most comprehensive approach to mean reversion trading by combining multiple proven oscillators with advanced confirmation mechanisms. By offering clear visual hierarchies for different extreme levels and requiring momentum confirmation for signals, it empowers traders to identify high-probability contrarian opportunities while avoiding false reversals. The sophisticated composite methodology ensures that signals are both statistically significant and practically actionable, making it an essential tool for traders focused on mean reversion strategies across all market conditions.

Fast/Slow Moving Averages: Trend direction confirmation (13/33 periods default)
Bollinger Bands: Volatility envelope around the composite signal
Enhanced Divergence Detection: Significantly improved trend reversal timing vs standard RSI
Research-Proven Performance
Based on Brown's extensive study across 6 major markets (1919-2015):
42 divergence signals triggered where RSI showed none
33 signals passed with meaningful reversals (78% success rate)
Only 5 failures - exceptional performance in monthly/2-month timeframes
Tested on: German DAX, French CAC 40, Shanghai Composite, Dow Jones, US/Japanese Government Bonds
New Customization Features
Moving Average Types: Choose SMA or EMA for fast/slow lines
Optional Fills: Toggle composite and Bollinger band fills on/off

Custom Index CompositeCustom Index Composite calculates an unweighted composite index by averaging the daily returns of multiple stock tickers. Instead of using price-level weighting, it focuses solely on percentage change, allowing you to compare diverse market themes side by side on a common basis.
Why Use a Custom Index Composite?
Unlike traditional indices that often lean on market capitalization or price-level data, a custom composite based solely on returns strips out the bias inherent to high-priced stocks. This provides several benefits:
Objective Cross-Comparison:
When stocks or market themes trade at very different price levels, it can be difficult to assess performance objectively. Using percentage returns, the composite creates an even playing field, enabling a clear comparison between different assets or themes.
Tailored Benchmarking:
By selecting and combining specific tickers, you can create benchmarks that better represent the segments or strategies you’re interested in. This is particularly useful when standard indices do not capture the nuances of your investment approach.
Performance Normalization:
Converting raw price data into daily percentage returns minimizes distortions that arise from price differences. This normalization helps in understanding true performance trends across the chosen tickers, making the composite index a more reliable gauge of relative market movement.
Custom Analysis Framework:
The indicator offers flexibility to adjust the lookback period (defaulting to about 3 months) so you can fine-tune the sensitivity of the index to recent market behavior. This enables you to either smooth out volatility or capture a more immediate trend, depending on your analytical needs.
Key Features:
Configurable Appearance:
You can easily configure the line color, line width, index name, and index name color via the options panel.
Ticker Configuration:
By default, you can enter up to 15 different tickers into the composite index. Technically, the indicator supports up to 40 tickers (these additional inputs are commented out by default to maintain performance), and you may enable them individually if required.
Calculated Bars Length:
The indicator uses a “Calculated bars length” setting, which is set by default to 63 days (approximately 3 months). This value can be adjusted, and it is recommended to use the greatest common denominator for consistent analysis.
How To Configure Your Chart:
Add the Indicator:
Place the Custom Index Composite on your chart.
Disable Main Symbol Visibility:
Hide the primary symbol’s plot and set its scale to “None” to prevent interference with the composite display.
Pin to Right Scale:
Set the scale of the first composite indicator to “Pinned to right scale.” This helps maintain consistency across different composite indicators.
Add Multiple Composites:
You can add additional composite indicators and set their scales to “Pinned to right scale” (or alternatively to “A”) for convenient comparison.
Limitations:
If a ticker symbol is set once in the options, it cannot be cleared to an empty value later. As a result, the symbol will continue to appear in the indicator’s title on the chart. The only way to remove an unwanted symbol is to completely reset the settings and re-enter your desired tickers.

Normalized Price ComparisonNormalized Price Comparison Indicator Description
The "Normalized Price Comparison" indicator is designed to provide traders with a visual tool for comparing the price movements of up to three different financial instruments on a common scale, despite their potentially different price ranges. Here's how it works:
Features:
Normalization: This indicator normalizes the closing prices of each symbol to a scale between 0 and 1 over a user-defined period. This normalization process allows for the comparison of price trends regardless of the absolute price levels, making it easier to spot relative movements and trends.
Crossing Alert: It features an alert functionality that triggers when the normalized price lines of the first two symbols (Symbol 1 and Symbol 2) cross each other. This can be particularly useful for identifying potential trading opportunities when one asset's relative performance changes against another.
Customization: Users can input up to three symbols for analysis. The normalization period can be adjusted, allowing flexibility in how historical data is considered for the scaling process. This period determines how many past bars are used to calculate the minimum and maximum prices for normalization.
Visual Representation: The indicator plots these normalized prices in a separate pane below the main chart. Each symbol's normalized price is represented by a distinct colored line:
Symbol 1: Blue line
Symbol 2: Red line
Symbol 3: Green line
Use Cases:
Relative Performance Analysis: Ideal for investors or traders who want to compare how different assets are performing relative to each other over time, without the distraction of absolute price differences.
Divergence Detection: Useful for spotting divergences where one asset might be outperforming or underperforming compared to others, potentially signaling changes in market trends or investment opportunities.
Crossing Strategy: The alert for when Symbol 1 and Symbol 2's normalized lines cross can be used as a part of a trading strategy, signaling potential entry or exit points based on relative price movements.
Limitations:
Static Alert Messages: Due to Pine Script's constraints, the alert messages cannot dynamically include the names of the symbols being compared. The alert will always mention "Symbol 1" and "Symbol 2" crossing.
Performance: Depending on the timeframe and the number of symbols, performance might be affected, especially on lower timeframes with high data frequency.
This indicator is particularly beneficial for those interested in multi-asset analysis, offering a streamlined way to observe and react to relative price movements in a visually coherent manner. It's a powerful tool for enhancing your trading or investment analysis by focusing on trends and relationships rather than raw price data.

Composite Trend Oscillator [ChartPrime]CODE DUELLO:
Have you ever stopped to wonder what the underlying filters contained within complex algorithms are actually providing for you? Wouldn't it be nice to actually visually inspect for that? Those would require some kind of wild west styled quick draw duel or some comparison method as a proper 'code duello'. Then it can be determined which filter can 'draw' the quickest from it's computational holster with the least amount of lag and smoothness.
In Pine we can do so, discovering how beneficial that would be. This can be accomplished by quickly switching from one filter to another by input() back and forth, requiring visual memory. A better way could be done by placing two indicators added to the chart and then eventually placed into one indicator pane on top of each other.
By adding a filter() helper function that calls other moving average functions chosen for comparison, it can put to the test which moving average is the best drawing filter suited to our expected needs. PhiSmoother was formerly debuted and now it is utilized in a more complex environment in a multitude of ways along side other commonly utilized filters. Now, you the reader, get to judge for yourself...
FILTER VERSATILITY:
Having the capability to adjust between various smoothing methods such as PhiSmoother, TEMA, DEMA, WMA, EMA, and SMA on historical market data within the code provides an advantage. Each of these filter methods offers distinct advantages and hinderances. PhiSmoother stands out often by having superb noise rejection, while also being able to manipulate the fine-tuning of the phase or lag of the indicator, enhancing responsiveness to price movements.
The following are more well-known classic filters. TEMA (Triple Exponential Moving Average) and DEMA (Double Exponential Moving Average) offer reduced transient response times to price changes fluctuations. WMA (Weighted Moving Average) assigns more weight to recent data points, making it particularly useful for reduced lag. EMA (Exponential Moving Average) strikes a balance between responsiveness and computational efficiency, making it a popular choice. SMA (Simple Moving Average) provides a straightforward calculation based on the arithmetic mean of the data. VWMA and RMA have both been excluded for varying reasons, both being unworthy of having explanation here.
By allowing for adjustment refinements between these filter methods, traders may garner the flexibility to adapt their analysis to different market dynamics, optimizing their algorithms for improved decision-making and performance on demand.
INDICATOR INTRODUCTION:
ChartPrime's Composite Trend Oscillator operates as an oscillator based on the concept of a moving average ribbon. It utilizes up to 32 filters with progressively longer periods to assess trend direction and strength. Embedded within this indicator is an alternative view that utilizes the separation of the ribbon filaments to assess volatility. Both versions are excellent candidates for trend and momentum, both offering visualization of polarity, directional coloring, and filter crossings. Anyone who has former experience using RSI or stochastics may have ease of understanding applying this to their chart.
COMPOSITE CLUSTER MODES EXPLAINED:
In Trend Strength mode, the oscillator behavior signifies market direction and movement strength. When the oscillator is rising and above zero, the market is within a bullish phase, and visa versa. If the signal filter crosses the composite trend, this indicates a potential dynamic shift signaling a possible reversal. When the oscillator is teetering on its extremities, the market is more inclined to reverse later.
With Volatility mode, the oscillator undergoes a transformation, displaying an unbounded oscillator driven by market volatility. While it still employs the same scoring mechanism, it is now scaled according to the strength of the market move. This can aid with identification of ranging scenarios. However, one side effect is that the oscillator no longer has minimum or maximum boundaries. This can still be advantageous when considering divergences.
NOTEWORTHY SETTINGS FEATURES:
The following input settings described offer comprehensive control over the indicator's behavior and visualization.
Common Controls:

Smart MAThe Smart MA indicator is a tool designed for traders seeking insights into market trends, with its foundation rooted in moving averages. It offers two distinctive color options, with "Crossing" as the default choice and "Direction" as an alternative. Let's delve deeper into these options:
1. "Crossing" Color Option (Default):
Key Features:
Utilizes the interaction between fast and slow moving averages.
The color of the base moving average (MA) line dynamically changes based on crossovers between these moving averages.
Offers real-time visual signals for potential shifts in market sentiment.
Interpretation:
With the "Crossing" color option as the default setting, the base MA line's color responds to the interaction of the fast and slow moving averages.
A crossover where the fast MA crosses above the slow MA may prompt the base MA line to change to a bullish color (e.g., teal), indicating a potential bullish trend.
Conversely, if the fast MA crosses below the slow MA, the base MA line's color may alter to represent a bearish sentiment (e.g., red). This color shift provides a visual marker for a potential bearish trend, potentially guiding traders towards shorting opportunities.
2. "Direction" Color Option:
Key Features:
Focuses on the directional trend of the base moving average (MA).
The color of the base MA line signifies the direction in which the base MA is moving.
Aids in quickly identifying the prevailing market trend.
Interpretation:
Uptrend - Bullish Direction: When the base MA slopes upward, indicating an average price increase over the chosen base MA length, the base MA line's color may shift to a bullish hue (e.g., teal). This visual cue signals a potential uptrend, suggesting favorable long positions.
Downtrend - Bearish Direction: If the base MA slopes downward, signifying an average price decrease over the selected base MA length, the base MA line could change to a bearish shade (e.g., red). This color shift acts as an indicator of a potential downtrend, implying possible opportunities for shorting.
Customization:
Both color options allow traders to adjust the indicator's parameters, including base MA length, MA type, fast MA length, and slow MA length, to align with their trading strategies and preferred timeframes.
In summary, the Smart MA indicator, based on moving averages, provides traders with two color options: the default "Crossing" and "Direction" as an alternative. The "Crossing" option leverages fast and slow moving averages to offer real-time visual cues for dynamic market shifts. The "Direction" option simplifies trend analysis by focusing on the directional trend of the base MA. The choice between these options depends on your trading style and the depth of analysis you require. With the Smart MA indicator, you're equipped to make informed trading decisions in today's financial markets. Indicator
