Altseason IndexDescription of the "Altseason Index" Indicator
The Altseason Index is a powerful and visually minimalist tool designed to objectively identify the onset and conclusion of an "altseason" in the cryptocurrency market. Moving beyond subjective speculation, this indicator employs a clear, mathematical methodology by comparing the performance of a broad basket of altcoins against Bitcoin.
🎯 Core Concept and Utility
An "Altseason" is a market period where altcoins (cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin) consistently yield higher returns than BTC. This indicator empowers traders and investors to:
Objectively Identify Market Cycles: Precisely pinpoint when capital is actively rotating from Bitcoin into altcoins and vice versa.
Make Data-Driven Decisions: Adjust their strategy in a timely manner: increasing exposure to altcoins during an altseason or rotating back into BTC upon its conclusion.
Avoid Emotional Pitfalls: Steer clear of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and base decisions on hard data rather than market noise.
⚙️ How the Calculation Works
1. Asset Selection: The indicator tracks the performance of 15 leading altcoins across various market segments (Layer 1s, DeFi, Meme, Payments), ensuring a representative sample.
2. Performance Comparison: For each altcoin, the percentage price change over the user-defined lookback period (default: 90 days) is calculated. This performance is then compared to BTC's performance over the same period.
3. Counting the "Outperformers": The index counts the number of altcoins that have "outperformed" BTC.
4. Calculating the Index: The Altseason Index value is the percentage of altcoins in the basket that are outperforming BTC. For example, a value of 60% means that 9 out of the 15 coins performed better than Bitcoin.
🛠️ Indicator Settings
The settings are kept simple and intuitive, allowing you to customize the indicator to your strategy:
Lookback Period (days) (Default: 90):
- Defines the time horizon for the performance calculation.
- Shorter Periods (30-60 days) react faster to new trends but may produce more false signals.
- Longer Periods (90-180 days) provide smoother and more reliable signals, capturing sustained macro-trends.
Altseason Threshold (%) (Default: 75%):
- This is the key parameter that defines what index value constitutes an official "altseason."
- A threshold of 75% means an altseason is declared when at least 11 out of the 15 altcoins (75%) are outperforming BTC.
- You can increase the threshold (e.g., to 85%) for more conservative and stronger signals, or decrease it (e.g., to 65%) for earlier entries.
📊 Interpreting the Readings and Signals
The indicator uses a clear color-coding system and levels for easy interpretation:
🔴 < 30%: "BTC SEASON"
Bitcoin is dominating. The market is in risk-off mode or a state of anticipation. Growth is concentrated in BTC.
⚪ 30% - 49%: "NEUTRAL"
A transitional phase. The market is uncertain. Some alts show strength, but there is no unified trend.
🔵 50% - 74%: "BULLISH"
Growing strength in altcoins. Capital is beginning to rotate actively. This can be an early stage of an altseason.
🟢 ≥ 75% (or your custom threshold): "ALTSEASON"
The active altseason phase. The vast majority of altcoins are rising faster than BTC. This is the period of maximum potential returns for alts.
Signal Markers:
Green Dot: Signals the potential start of an altseason (the index crosses above the threshold).
Red Dot: Signals the potential end of an altseason (the index crosses below the threshold).
ℹ️ Information Panel
The chart displays two clean information panels:
1. Main Info Label:
Current index value (e.g., ⟠ 80%).
Market status (ALTSEASON, BULLISH, etc.).
The ratio of outperforming altcoins (11/15 alts).
2. Dominance & Market Cap Panel:
Alts: Altcoin Dominance (the market cap share of all coins except BTC).
BTC: Bitcoin Dominance.
Market: Total cryptocurrency market capitalization in billions of USD. This helps assess the overall market context (bullish/bearish).
💎 Conclusion
The Altseason Index is your strategic companion for navigating the crypto markets. It transforms the complex task of identifying market cycles into a simple and visual process. Use it to confirm broad market trends, identify potential entry and exit points, and, most importantly, to maintain discipline in your trading strategy by filtering out noise and emotion.

Advanced Market Profile & S/R Zones (Pro)Advanced Market Profile & S/R Zones
This indicator brings professional Auction Market Theory to your chart using a custom rolling Volume Profile algorithm. Unlike standard profiles that remain fixed, this tool dynamically calculates the "Fair Value" of the asset based on your specific lookback period (e.g., the last 100 bars).
It automatically highlights the Point of Control (POC), Value Area (VA), and suggests statistical Discount (Buy) and Premium (Sell) zones.
Key Features
Volume Splitting Algorithm:
Most basic scripts dump the entire volume of a candle into a single price point (the average). This script splits the volume across the candle's entire High-Low range. This results in a much smoother, higher-resolution bell curve that accurately reflects price action, especially on higher timeframes like Monthly charts.
Auto-generated Zones:
Green Zone (Discount): Prices below the Value Area Low (VAL). Statistically "cheap."
Red Zone (Premium): Prices above the Value Area High (VAH). Statistically "expensive."
Real-Time Dashboard:
A built-in panel displays the exact price levels for the POC, VAH, and VAL for precise limit order placement, along with the current Market Trend.
How to Use
For Intraday (Day Trading):
Settings: Set Lookback to 100 - 300.
Strategy: Watch for price to open outside the Value Area. If price breaks back inside the Value Area, target the POC (Red Line).
For Macro (Monthly/Weekly Charts):
Settings: Set Lookback to 12 (1 Year) or 60 (5 Years).
Strategy: Identify multi-year structural support. When a monthly candle enters the Green Discount Zone of a 5-year profile, it is often a high-probability institutional entry point.
Trend Logic
The Dashboard indicates trend based on price location relative to value:
Strong Bullish: Price is accepted ABOVE the Value Area.
Strong Bearish: Price is accepted BELOW the Value Area.
Neutral / In VA: Price is chopping inside the Value Area.
Disclaimer
This is a "Rolling Profile." It calculates the profile based on the current lookback window relative to the latest bar. As new bars form, the lookback window shifts, and the profile updates to reflect the new dataset. Indicator

CNN Fear and Greed StrategyAdaptation of the CNN Fear and Greed Index Indicator (Original by EdgeTools)
The following changes have been implemented:
Put/Call Ratio Data Source: The data source for the Put/Call Ratio has been updated.
Bond Data Source: The data sources for the bond components (Safe Haven Demand and Junk Bond Demand) have been updated.
Normalization Adjustment: The normalization method has been adjusted to allow the CNN Fear and Greed Index to display over a longer historical period, optimizing it for backtesting purposes.
Style Modification: The display style has been modified for a simpler and cleaner appearance.
Strategy Logic Addition: Added a new strategy entry condition: index >= 25 AND index crosses over its 5-period Simple Moving Average (SMA), and a corresponding exit condition of holding the position for 252 bars (days).
CNN Fear & Greed Backtest Strategy (Adapted)
This script is an adaptation of the popular CNN Fear & Greed Index, originally created by EdgeTools, with significant modifications to optimize it for long-term backtesting on the PulseWire platform.
The core function of the Fear & Greed Index is to measure the current emotional state of the stock market, ranging from 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed). It operates on the principle that excessive fear drives prices too low (a potential buying opportunity), and excessive greed drives them too high (a potential selling opportunity).
Key Components of the Index (7 Factors)
The composite index is calculated as a weighted average of seven market indicators, each normalized to a score between 0 and 100:
Market Momentum: S&P 500's current level vs. its 125-day Moving Average.
Stock Price Strength: Stocks hitting 52-week highs vs. those hitting 52-week lows.
Stock Price Breadth: Measured by the McClellan Volume Summation Index (or similar volume/breadth metric).
Put/Call Ratio: The relationship between volume of put options (bearish bets) and call options (bullish bets).
Market Volatility: The CBOE VIX Index relative to its 50-day Moving Average.
Safe Haven Demand: The relative performance of stocks (S&P 500) vs. bonds.
Junk Bond Demand: The spread between high-yield (junk) bonds and U.S. Treasury yields.
Critical Adaptations for Backtesting
To improve the index's utility for quantitative analysis, the following changes were made:
Long-Term Normalization: The original normalization method (ta.stdev over a short LENGTH) has been replaced or adjusted to use longer historical data. This change ensures the index generates consistent and comparable sentiment scores across decades of market history, which is crucial for reliable backtesting results.
Updated Data Sources: Specific ticker requests for the Put/Call Ratio and Bond components (Safe Haven and Junk Bond Demand) have been updated to use the most reliable and long-running data available on PulseWire, reducing data gaps and improving chart continuity.
Simplified Visuals: The chart display is streamlined, focusing only on the final Fear & Greed Index line and key threshold levels (25, 50, 75) for quick visual assessment.
Integrated Trading Strategy
This script also includes a simple, rules-based strategy designed to test the counter-trend philosophy of the index:
Entry Logic (Long Position): A long position is initiated when the market shows increasing fear, specifically when the index score is less than or equal to the configurable FEAR_LEVEL (default 25) and the index crosses above its own short-term 5-period Simple Moving Average (SMA). This crossover acts as a confirmation that sentiment may be starting to turn around from peak fear.
Exit Logic (Time-Based): All positions are subject to a time-based exit after holding for 252 trading days (approximately one year). This fixed holding period aims to capture the typical duration of a cyclical market recovery following a major panic event. Strategy

## 📊 How It Works
DAO calculates the ratio of buying pressure to total market pressure:
1. **Calculate Buying Pressure (DemandMax):**
- If current high > previous high: DemandMax = difference
- Otherwise: DemandMax = 0
2. **Calculate Selling Pressure (DemandMin):**
- If previous low > current low: DemandMin = difference
- Otherwise: DemandMin = 0
3. **Apply Smoothing:**
- Calculate SMA of DemandMax over N periods
- Calculate SMA of DemandMin over N periods
4. **Final Formula:**
```
DAO = SMA(DemandMax) / (SMA(DemandMax) + SMA(DemandMin))
```
This produces a normalized value (0-1) representing market demand strength.

Breakout ScannerThis is a Breakout Scanner that shows you the immediate trend across 4 higher timeframes for up to 10 different tickers. It calculates a score from 1 to 3 for bullish and -1 to -3 for bearish based on where price is currently at compared to the previous higher timeframe’s candle levels.
When price is breaking out of the previous higher timeframe candle’s range, then it will have a score of 3 for bullish breakout or -3 for bearish breakout. When price is above the high or below the low of multiple different higher timeframe candles, you can expect price to continue the breakout and move to a new area of price range.
The brighter red or green the color is, the stronger the trend is on that timeframe. When it shows a bright green or red box on the far right side of a ticker, it is notifying you that the ticker is bullish or bearish on all timeframes and trending strongly, so switch over to that chart and look to trade in the direction of that trend.
The tickers, colors and time frames can be customized to suit your preference and you can also turn off as many tickers or time frames as you’d like if you want less tickers or time frames to show up on the indicator. It also includes alerts for when all timeframes are bullish or all timeframes are bearish for one ticker.
Make sure to keep each timeframe set to a timeframe that is higher than your chart timeframe.
Bullish Scoring & Colors
If the current candle close is above the midline of the higher time frame candle, it is given a score of 1 and a dark green background. If the current candle close is above the higher timeframe candle body, then it is given a score of 2 and a medium green background. If the current candle close is above the high of the higher time frame candle, it is given a score of 3 and a bright green background.
The higher the score the stronger the bullish trend and the brighter green the color will be.
Bearish Scoring & Colors
If the current candle close is below the midline of the higher timeframe candle, it is given a score of -1 and a dark red background. If the current candle close is below the higher timeframe candle body, then it is given a score of -2 and a medium red background. If the current candle close is below the low of the higher timeframe candle, it is given a score of -3 and a bright red background.
The lower the score, the stronger the bearish trend and the brighter red the color will be.
Total Score Display
On the right side of the indicator table, there is a column that displays the total score by adding all the scores together so you can easily tell the overall strength of the trend across all timeframes. Wait for the trend score to be at least 75% of the possible score to trade so you can ensure you are only trading very strong trends and increase your probability of winning your trade. The total score will update according to how many time frames you have enabled in the settings. You can also turn on or off the total score count if you prefer. The default setting is off.
All Timeframe Trends Agree
When all of the timeframes that you have turned on are in the same direction at the same time, a green or red box will appear on the far right side of the scanner. This is a visual cue that lets you know the strongest trending markets without having to read any of the numbers. Make sure to check out the charts for the markets that have a green or red box on the far right side and look for potential trend trading opportunities.
Alerts
You can set alerts for when all time frames for a certain ticker are bullish or bearish. If you have some time frames turned off at the time of creating your alerts, then it will only require all time frames that are on to be all bullish or bearish to generate an alert. Make sure to set your alerts to once per bar close to ensure you don’t get premature alerts that aren’t yet valid.
Best Way To Use The Scanner
For best results, make sure you wait for the trend to show all bullish or all bearish at the same time and then look to trade in the direction of the strong trend. If you can be patient enough to do that, you will increase the probability of winning your trade because you are trading with the direction of the overall higher timeframe trend when the market is trending strongly and making new highs or lows.
When one of the markets in the scanner shows all timeframes trending, go to that chart and see how price action is reacting to the previous higher timeframe candle levels. You can see those levels easily by adding our Higher Timeframe Candle Levels indicator to your chart and using the same timeframes as your Breakout Scanner is using.
If price is holding the higher timeframe candle levels well, then look to place trades in the direction of the trend that the Breakout Scanner is showing.
Other Indicators To Pair This With
Use this in combination with our Higher Timeframe Candle Levels indicator so you can see all of these levels being used to calculate the trend strength scores and watch how price reacts to those levels. You should also use our Trend Strength Indicator to easily read the historical trends of price compared to the higher timeframes and use those trends to guide you on when to trade and which direction to trade.
Trend Strength Indicator, Higher Timeframe Candle Levels and the Breakout Scanner all use the same levels to calculate the trend scores so they are designed to work all together to help you quickly be able to read a chart and find what direction to trade in.
