Candlestick Edge Auto-Preset MTF Self-CalibratingCandlestick Edge only fires a candlestick pattern when it is "rightly placed" — confirmed by a higher-timeframe trend AND by where price sits in the developing volume profile. Then it does what most pattern tools don't: it forward-tests every signal and reports the MEASURED edge per pattern, so you read realized performance instead of a marketing claim.
WHY THIS IS ONE TOOL (not a bundle)
The parts answer one question about one candle: "is this pattern in a place that has historically paid, and does it beat a coin-flip here?"
PATTERN detection says WHAT printed (24 classic candlestick patterns).
HTF ALIGNMENT says whether the bigger trend agrees.
VOLUME-PROFILE POSITIONING says WHERE it printed — reversals only at value-area edges, naked POC, HVN support/resistance, or liquidity sweeps; continuations only through low-volume voids or on a value breakout.
The CALIBRATION SPINE forward-resolves each signal with a triple barrier and reports Hit% vs a matched Base% (Edge) with a Wilson confidence interval, so a placed-and-confirmed pattern can be told apart from a small-sample fluke.
One pattern substrate, one location read, one calibration spine.
MEASUREMENT (the differentiator)
Each signal opens at close with target = ±TP·ATR, stop = ∓SL·ATR, over a fixed horizon. The first barrier touched decides win/loss (same-bar tie counts as the stop — conservative). Base% is the unconditional same-barrier win-rate for that direction. Edge = Hit% − Base%; a "*" marks rows whose Wilson 95% lower bound clears the base rate. A leave-one-out row prices each filter's marginal contribution, and a footer lists only the patterns that are green AND have enough samples to trust in the current configuration.
AUTO PRESET (default on)
Candlestick edges are timeframe-specific. Auto Preset reads the chart's timeframe and switches on the pattern subset plus higher-timeframe distance that performed best for that timeframe in the author's study of NSE index futures, and forces the two filters on. Turn it OFF for full manual research mode: all 24 patterns selectable, filters and HTF distance (3x / 5x / 15x / custom) under your control. Nothing is ever removed — the preset only curates which patterns are active by default per timeframe.
HOW TO USE
Leave Auto Preset on and read the labelled signals (teal = bullish, red = bearish, each tagged with the pattern name). Open "Show scoreboard" to see measured Edge per pattern — trust the EDGE column and the "*", never a raw hit-rate. Best behaviour is on intraday timeframes (1H and below).

Standard techniques are credited below. What is original is the combination: a location-gated pattern engine whose every signal is forward-calibrated, a timeframe-adaptive auto-preset, a leave-one-out filter attribution, and an auto-surfaced tradeable set — measured edge, not asserted.

HOW THE LOGIC WORKS
1. Swing Structure (Pivot Detection)
The script continuously tracks the most recent confirmed pivot highs and lows using a user-defined lookback period. These pivots represent visible liquidity pools — price levels where stop-loss orders from trapped traders are clustered.
2. The Sweep Condition
A bullish sweep is confirmed when: (a) the current bar's low dips below the most recent pivot low, and (b) the bar closes back above that level. This closing behaviour is critical — it distinguishes a genuine stop-hunt from a continuation breakdown. The reverse applies for bearish sweeps. A minimum sweep depth (%) filter prevents the script from triggering on negligible edge-grazes.
3. Volume Confirmation (Smart Money Filter)
Institutional absorption of liquidity typically produces above-average volume. The script compares the sweep bar's volume against a 20-bar simple moving average and requires it to exceed a configurable multiplier (default 1.7×). This single filter eliminates the majority of false positives generated by low-liquidity sweeps in off-hours or thin markets.
4. EMA Trend Alignment
To avoid taking counter-trend reversals in strong momentum environments, an optional EMA filter restricts bullish sweep signals to bars closing above the EMA, and bearish sweep signals to bars closing below it. 5. ATR-Based Targets
Take Profit levels are calculated as a multiple of the 14-period ATR from the close of the sweep bar. What the indicator shows
The script displays a compact on-chart table with the historical hit-rate of each pattern across three rolling windows:

- 60 sessions: medium-term context
- 120 sessions: broader baseline
This allows traders to compare whether a pattern is currently persistent, fading, or highly dependent on the selected sample size.
Patterns audited
The indicator tracks five ES1! intraday hypotheses:
H1 — Range-bound open between 15:30 and 17:00 Madrid time
H2 — Sell-off around the European close, from 17:00 to 18:00
H3 — Low-volatility window between 18:00 and 21:00
H4 — Volatility expansion between 20:00 and 21:00
H5 — Last-hour directional drift from 21:00 to 22:00
All times are referenced in Madrid local time. The calculations are based on bar timestamps and defined intraday windows.
Optional filters
The script can also recompute the statistics on a cleaner sample by excluding sessions affected by potentially anomalous events:
- CPI release days
- FOMC meeting days
- Extreme sessions, defined by unusually large range or volume
Comparing filtered and unfiltered results helps reveal whether a pattern is robust across normal sessions or mainly supported by outlier days.
How to interpret it
A higher percentage means that the pattern occurred more often within the selected rolling window.
This indicator does not provide buy signals, sell signals, stop-loss levels, take-profit levels, or position sizing. It is not a trading strategy.

• The script does not include multi-timeframe confluence or trend filters — these are deliberate design choices to keep the tool focused and composable with other indicators.
• Volume confirmation is a soft scoring input, not a hard filter, since many crypto pairs and indices have volume data of variable reliability.
• Pattern state transitions use close-based confirmation; intrabar wicks do not trigger state changes except for stop/target hits, which are high/low based as expected.

Unlike basic pattern finders that fire on any two similar swings, this indicator scores every candidate pattern on a transparent 0–100 Quality Score across four independent factors — and only confirms patterns that pass a user-defined minimum. The result is a cleaner chart with fewer, higher-conviction setups.
Every confirmed pattern delivers a full trading lifecycle: a neckline flip S/R zone (resistance → support on a Double Bottom; support → resistance on a Double Top) and a measured-move target projection band. Pending, confirmed, target-hit and invalidated states are all tracked with disciplined cleanup, so the chart never becomes cluttered.
🔹 WHAT THE INDICATOR DOES
It detects classic Double Top and Double Bottom reversal structures using pivot-based swing analysis with ATR-normalised equality, depth and time-window filters. Each valid candidate is then scored on four independent quality factors. Only candidates that exceed the user-defined minimum score and break the neckline on close are confirmed. Once confirmed, the pattern draws its neckline flip zone and target projection band, labels the setup with its letter grade and score, and tracks the outcome until target hit or invalidation.
🔹 UNIQUE EDGE — WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
Most Double Top / Double Bottom scripts simply connect two similar swings and draw a line. This indicator adds a transparent 4-component Quality Score so every setup is rated before confirmation, not just flagged. Three factors that most scripts ignore are treated as first-class inputs here:
• Pattern Symmetry — the left leg and the right leg of the M / W must be comparable in time, or the pattern is penalised

1. Peak / Trough Equality — how close the two extremes are to each other, measured in ATR units

For Head & Shoulders detection, the script evaluates a sequence of three pivot highs where the middle high must exceed the two shoulders.
