how to use s-500
enable the panel from the settings.
start by looking at the bias line.
if bias shows bullish, the market context is mostly bullish.
if bias shows bearish, the market context is mostly bearish.
if bias shows neutral, the market does not have a clear directional structure.
then check the action line.
buy means the current conditions are more favorable for long setups.
sell means the current conditions are more favorable for short setups.
wait means the market is not clean enough and it may be better to wait.
after that, check the regime line.
trend up means the market is moving in an upward structure.
trend down means the market is moving in a downward structure.
range means the market is more sideways and less directional.
unclear means the structure is not strong enough to define a clean regime.
beginner tutorial
1. check the bias first
the bias gives the main direction of the market.
bullish bias means buyers are stronger.
bearish bias means sellers are stronger.
neutral bias means the market is mixed.
a beginner should avoid trading against the bias.
2. check the action
the action line gives a simple reading of the current context.
buy means you should mainly look for long opportunities.
sell means you should mainly look for short opportunities.
wait means conditions are not clean enough.
this does not mean you should enter immediately. it means the market context is more favorable in that direction.
3. check the trend mtf section
the trend mtf section shows if multiple timeframes are bullish or bearish.
when most timeframes are bullish, the market has stronger upward alignment.
when most timeframes are bearish, the market has stronger downward alignment.
when timeframes are mixed, the market may be unstable or ranging.
4. check rsi mtf
rsi above 50 usually supports bullish momentum.
rsi below 50 usually supports bearish momentum.
if rsi is growing across several timeframes, momentum is improving.
if rsi is falling across several timeframes, momentum is weakening.
5. check macd mtf
macd above 0 supports bullish pressure.
macd below 0 supports bearish pressure.
a growing macd means momentum is increasing.
a falling macd means momentum is decreasing.
6. check adx mtf
adx helps estimate trend strength.
a stronger adx can confirm that the market has directional force.
a weak adx can indicate a range or a low-quality trend.
7. check vwap
if price is above vwap, buyers have more control.
if price is below vwap, sellers have more control.
vwap is useful for intraday trading and quick market context.
8. check volatility
high volatility means the market is moving aggressively.
low volatility means the market is calmer.
high volatility can create opportunities, but it also increases risk.
low volatility can create slow or choppy price action.
9. check market phase
expansion means the market is moving with more range and energy.
compression means the market is becoming tighter and less volatile.
neutral means there is no strong expansion or compression signal.
10. check risk environment
favorable means the environment is cleaner for trading.
dangerous means conditions may be unstable or risky.
neutral means the market is not clearly favorable or dangerous.

HTF Candles [EXCAVO]Higher Timeframe Candles in a Panel to the Right of the Chart
The HTF Candles indicator renders higher timeframe candles in a
dedicated panel to the right of all chart data. Each completed HTF candle
is drawn as a solid semi-transparent box (body) with color-matched wick
lines. The currently forming candle uses a dashed outline and updates in
real time. Nothing is drawn when the chart timeframe is equal to or higher
than the selected HTF.

▸ HOW TO USE
Step 1 → Add the indicator on a lower timeframe chart (e.g., 5m or
15m). The HTF panel appears to the right of all candles.
Step 2 → Default HTF is 1H. Change it in settings to match the
context you trade (4H, D, etc.).
Step 3 → Solid boxes are completed HTF candles. Blue = bullish,
red = bearish.
Step 4 → The rightmost dashed box is the currently forming HTF
candle - it updates live on every bar close.
Step 5 → Set alerts for HTF Bullish or Bearish Candle Close to be
notified when the HTF period ends.

▸ HOW IT CALCULATES
◆ HTF OHLC via Built-In Resampling
The indicator uses request.security() with lookahead_off to fetch the
current HTF candle's OHLC on every bar:
= request.security(ticker, htf, )
Without lookahead, these values reflect only confirmed data up to the
current bar - no future leaking.
◆ Candle Completion Detection
A new HTF candle is detected using ta.change(time(htf_tf)). When the time
bucket changes, the previous candle is complete. At that moment:
htf_o , htf_h , htf_l , htf_c = OHLC of the completed candle
These are pushed to history arrays (up to History Count entries), and
the oldest entry is trimmed when the limit is reached.
◆ Panel Positioning
All candles are drawn to the right of the last chart bar:
x1 = bar_index + right_margin + i x (candle_width + gap)
x2 = x1 + candle_width
Positions are recalculated on every barstate.islast update. Previous
drawing objects are deleted and rebuilt each bar so the panel always
aligns with the current last bar as new data arrives.
◆ Completed Candle Rendering
Each completed candle is drawn as:
- Body: box from max(open, close) to min(open, close)
- Upper wick: line from high to body top (only if high > body top)
- Lower wick: line from body bottom to low (only if low < body bottom)
◆ Current Candle (Dashed)
The forming candle uses the same box for fill but replaces the solid
border with four dashed lines (top, bottom, left, right edges) and
dashed wick lines. The body color reflects the live direction -
bullish (blue) if close >= open, bearish (red) otherwise.
◆ Timeframe Label Pinning
The HTF label above the panel is anchored to the highest candle in the
HTF panel (not the chart's overall high). This keeps the label stable
above the panel as price moves on the underlying chart.
◆ Timeframe Guard
The indicator checks timeframe.in_seconds() < timeframe.in_seconds(htf).
If the chart timeframe is equal to or higher than the HTF, no panel is
drawn.

▸ WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
◆ Panel to the Right - No Overlap
HTF candles are positioned past the last chart bar so they never cover
price action. The panel shifts automatically as new bars arrive.
◆ Dashed Forming Candle
The current unfinished HTF candle is visually distinct (dashed outline)
so it is never confused with confirmed history.
◆ Stable Timeframe Label
The HTF label is pinned to the highest candle inside the panel itself
rather than the chart's overall high. The label position stays consistent
relative to the HTF panel even when underlying chart prices spike outside
the panel range.
◆ Non-Repainting OHLC
request.security() with lookahead_off ensures that completed candle
values are final before they are committed to history. No retrospective
changes occur to completed boxes.
◆ Timeframe Guard
The indicator automatically disables itself when the chart timeframe is
greater than or equal to the selected HTF — no panel is drawn,
preventing meaningless output.

The SMA MTF Trend Panel is a multi-timeframe (MTF) trend visualization tool designed to help traders quickly assess market conditions across multiple timeframes based on the Simple Moving Average (SMA). This script calculates the trend direction (Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral) and the trend strength percentage for each selected timeframe. It displays the information in an intuitive panel that is dynamically updated in real-time.

this library is used to show an indicator (such RSI, CCI, MOM etc) on the main chart with indicator's horizontal lines in a window. Location of the window is calculated dynamically by last price movemements
drawIndicator(indicatorName, indicator, indicatorcolor, period, indimax_, indimin_, levels, precision, xlocation) draws the related indicator on the chart

Hx MTF Sorted MAs Panel with Freeze WarningThis script displays the close price and 4 sorted moving averages of your choice in a small repositionable panel and, when used on a higher timeframe, warns you when values may be different from actual values in the higher timeframe, inciting you to double check the actual values of the moving averages in the higher timeframe the panel is supposed to reflect.
The 4 moving averages and close are sorted together, providing you with a bird’s-eye view of their relative positions, the same way moving averages and last price values are displayed on the right scale.
The black header reminds of:
(1) the timeframe (resolution) used in the panel
(2) the remaining time before a new bar is created in the panel timeframe. Note that this remaining time is different from the one on the right scale, since it is only updated when a new transaction occurs.
Below, price and moving averages are sorted, color coded and followed by:
(1) a trend indicator ↗ or ↘ meaning that last change is up or down
(2) the number of bars since the moving average is above or below close (0 means current bar). This is obviously not displayed after the close price line (white background color).
Use
This panel was basically developed to display higher timeframe data but it can also be used with the same timeframe as chart for example if you do not want to plot moving averages on your chart but are still interested in their trends and relative positions vs price.
If you see something strange (like header is not black and displays NaN), it just means you requested moving averages that are not available in the panel timeframe. This may happen with newly introduced cryptos and “long” MA timeframes.
Different Timeframe
If you choose to use the panel on a different timeframe than the current one, be aware that you should only use timeframes higher than the current one, as per Tradingview recommendations.
If you select a lower timeframe than the current one, the panel timeframe header cell will turn to the alert color you set (fuchsia by default).
After tinkering for a while with the security function, I noticed that sometimes indicator values “freeze” (i.e. stop udating) and I have found no workaround.
What I mean is that when you look at a sma on a 5 minutes timeframe (the reference) and look at this same sma on a 5 minutes timeframe but from a lower timeframe through the security function set with a timeframe of 5 minutes, values returned by the security function are not always up to date and “freeze”. That’s the bad news.
Freeze warning
The better news is that this unexpected behaviour seems to be predictable, at least on minutes timeframes and I implemented an indicator that endeavors to detecting such situations. When the panel believes data may be frozen, the ‘Remaining Time’ header cell will turn to the alert color.
This feature is only implemented on minutes timeframes and can be switched on or off.

sortWithIndexes (arrayToSort) returns a tuple (sortedArray, sortedIndexes) and therefore allows multi-dimensional arrays sorting without actually implementing a sorting algorithm 😉.
Default Settings
The default settings provide an example of commonly used moving averages with associated colors ranked from Hot (more nervous) to Cold (less nervous).
These settings are just an example and are NOT meant to be used as a trading system! DYOR!

Tickers PanelCONCEPT
It's a very straight forward panel with tickers for both BTC and ETH (you can switch in the settings).
The background colouring changes based on how individual markets are trading compared to a market average.
It shows green if a market is trading above the average price and it shows grey if it's trading below the average.
This makes it easy to spot which markets are cheap/expensive.
This is jus a random idea, but the source code is open so that you can make your own changes if you like.
FEATURES
Tickers for six different markets.
By default it shows BTC prices, but you can also choose for it to show ETH prices.
Sometimes it gets blocked by price.
So there's an option to put it at the bottom of the screen.
There's more possible, just look at the source code.
I use a widescreen so for me the size of the boxes is perfect, but if you're on different resolution it might look weird.
Also if you split your screen in half for example it probably won't perfectly fit anymore.
In the settings you can easily change the colours, width, height, border thickness, ...
So yeah, just a fun panel with some crypto tickers.
Have a look at the source code it's pretty easy to understand, have fun playing around with it.
The indicator is free so just add it to your favourites and you can start using it (you might have to refresh Tradingview before it works).

SMA Directional Matrix [LuxAlgo]This script was created in collaboration with alexgrover and displays a simple & elegant panel showing the direction of simple moving averages with periods in a user-selected range (Min, Max). The displayed number in the panel is the period of a simple moving average and the symbol situated at the right of it is associated with the direction this moving average is taking.
Settings
Min: Minimum period of the moving average
Max: Maximum period of the moving average
Src: Source input of the moving averages
Number Of Columns: Number of columns to be displayed in the panel, handy when using a large range of periods.
Usage
Looking at the direction of moving averages with different periods is extremely useful when it comes to having information about the short/mid/long term overall market sentiment, and can also tell us if the market is trending or ranging.
Here we use periods ranging from 25 to 50, we can see that shorter moving averages react to the recent upward price variation, longer-term moving averages however are still affected by the overall downward variation you can see on the image. We can as such get information about the presence of potentials divergences, with shorter-term moving averages reacting to the divergence while the longer-term moving averages will still display the direction of the main trend.
As such the indicator can give information about how clean a trend is, with a clean trend being defined as a variation containing no retracements. When our trend contains no retracement, the mid/long term moving averages will all have the same direction, however, when a retracement is present, the midterm moving averages might be affected by it, thus displaying a direction contrary to the main trend.
When the market is ranging we can expect the panel to display an equal number of decreasing/increasing moving averages.
Possible Issues
When using a large range of periods, you might have an error message showing: "String is too long", try lowering the range of periods by increasing Min or decreasing Max .
If the script displays the error message "Loop is too long to execute", try resetting the settings and change them back to the one you wanted to use. Indicator
