◆ WHAT IT IS
The opening range — the high and low of the first minutes of a session — is one of the most-watched intraday reference structures. Range Commander captures it automatically, locks it into a clean box, and builds a full breakout and target framework around it. It is a context and structure tool: it maps the range, marks the breaks, and tracks the targets — it does not fire endless buy/sell arrows.
This is 100% original code, written from scratch. It does not reuse any other author's ORB script.
◆ HOW IT WORKS
1. Range capture. During your chosen session window (default 09:30–09:45 New York, fully adjustable with a timezone selector), the indicator records the running high and low into a live box.
2. Lock and project. When the window closes, the range locks. Its height becomes 1R , and the tool projects measured-move target rails at ±0.5R, ±1R and ±1.5R (all configurable), plus the range midline.
3. Breakout logic. A breakout is registered on either a close beyond the range (cleaner) or a wick beyond the range (faster) — your choice. An option stamps only the first break per side per day to keep the chart immaculate. A minimum range-size filter (in ATR) lets you skip dead, low-range opens.
4. Retests and targets. After a break, the first return to the broken edge is marked with a subtle diamond, and each measured-move target is tracked as hit or unhit in the dashboard.

• Set the session window to match your instrument and desired ORB length (e.g. 0930-1000 for a 30-minute range).
• A wide range vs. ATR often signals a more energetic session; a tight range warns breakouts may be prone to failure.
• Use the ±R target rails as objective, pre-defined profit references and the opposite range edge as a natural invalidation.
• Designed for intraday timeframes . On daily and higher charts the session concept does not apply, and the dashboard will say so.

ORB Detector Dynamic is an Opening Range Breakout (ORB) visualization tool for Asia, London, and New York sessions.
It builds and locks the opening-range high and low for a selected session window, keeps session labels on history, and marks breakouts only after the range is locked — not while the range is still forming.

CONCEPT
An Opening Range Breakout uses the high and low of a defined window after a session open (for example the first 5, 15, or 30 minutes).
Once that window closes, the range is treated as locked. Breaks of the locked high or low can then be used as timing context together with broader session and structure tools.
HOW IT WORKS
1) Choose one session: Asia, London, or New York
2) Set the ORB window times in Inputs (Eastern Time — America/New_York; editable)
3) During the window, the script updates ORB High and ORB Low
4) When the window closes, the range locks and the label stops showing “forming”
5) Breakout conditions are evaluated only after lock, until the next ORB window starts
6) One breakout flag per direction per session (no repeated spam)

ORB Laboratory is a modular Opening Range Breakout strategy designed for systematic research, backtesting, robustness testing, and experimentation across different markets, sessions, symbols, timeframes, execution assumptions, and ORB methodologies.
This is not a single hard-coded ORB strategy.
The purpose of ORB Laboratory is to provide a flexible environment where traders and researchers can isolate individual variables, compare different approaches to opening-range behavior, and test whether an idea remains viable under different conditions rather than relying on one fixed set of rules.

ORB lengths can range from very short opening ranges to much longer windows.
The strategy continuously tracks the highest high and lowest low while an ORB is forming.

The ORB is finalized on the close of the final range-building bar so resting breakout orders can be prepared before the first post-range bar begins.

5. ENTRY MODEL — BREAKOUT (TOUCH)

Breakout (Touch) is designed to model a traditional stop-order breakout.
After the ORB is complete, resting stop entries are prepared at:
Long:
ORB High + Long Breakout Buffer
Short:
ORB Low - Short Breakout Buffer
The entry can therefore occur when price touches the breakout threshold rather than waiting for a candle close.
The strategy uses resting stop orders for this mode.
Long and short breakout orders are placed into an OCA cancellation group.
When one side fills, competing unfilled breakout orders are cancelled.
This allows the strategy to model a two-sided opening-range breakout where both directions may initially be armed but only the triggered side remains active.
Unfilled Breakout (Touch) orders are also cancelled when the configured entry cutoff is reached.

7. ENTRY MODEL — BREAK + RETEST ORB

This model waits for a confirmed breakout and then looks for price to retest the broken ORB boundary.
After a breakout, the retest can be confirmed using one of three methods:
TOUCH ONLY
Price only needs to return to the broken ORB boundary.
CLOSE OUTSIDE
Price must retest the boundary and close back on the breakout side.
REJECTION CANDLE
Price must retest the boundary and produce directional rejection.
For a bullish retest, the candle must interact with the ORB High and confirm back above it.
For a bearish retest, the candle must interact with the ORB Low and confirm back below it.
Additional controls include:
• Retest expiry in bars
• Maximum extension before a retest is considered too late
Once a valid retest is consumed, the retest setup is disarmed.

8. ENTRY MODEL — BREAK + RETEST FVG

ORB Laboratory includes directional Fair Value Gap detection following an ORB breakout.
A bullish FVG is detected when a three-candle imbalance exists with the current low above the high from two bars earlier.
A bearish FVG is detected when the current high is below the low from two bars earlier.
The minimum FVG size can be defined as an ATR multiple.
Optional logic can require the FVG to remain outside the ORB.
Three FVG entry depths are available:
NEAR EDGE
Uses the first edge of the FVG encountered on the retracement.
MIDPOINT
Uses the 50% level of the FVG.
FULL FILL
Requires price to reach the opposite edge of the FVG.
Additional controls include:
• Minimum FVG size as ATR ×
• FVG must remain outside ORB
• FVG expiry in bars
If price reaches the selected FVG level while the setup is valid, an entry is submitted in the direction of the original breakout.

9. ENTRY MODEL — SWEEP REVERSAL

Sweep Reversal is designed to research failed breaks of the opening range.
A high sweep occurs when price trades above:
ORB High + Long Breakout Buffer
but then closes back below the ORB High.
A low sweep occurs when price trades below:
ORB Low - Short Breakout Buffer
but then closes back above the ORB Low.
Two confirmation modes are available:
CLOSE BACK INSIDE
The breakout only needs to fail and close back inside the ORB.
REJECTION CANDLE
The failed breakout must also produce a directional rejection candle.
A failed high produces a potential short setup.
A failed low produces a potential long setup.
Sweep trades are treated as fade/reversal trades and can use dedicated fade-target logic.

10. ENTRY MODEL — FADE FIRST BREAKOUT

This model records which side of the ORB breaks first.
The strategy permanently tracks:
• First breakout direction
• First breakout bar
• Maximum extension reached by that breakout
If the first breakout subsequently fails and closes back inside the ORB within the configured failure window, the strategy can fade that failed move.
First high breakout fails:
Potential short.
First low breakout fails:
Potential long.
The model also includes a Maximum Extension Before Retest/Fade setting.
This prevents an extremely extended move from later being treated as a normal failed breakout simply because price eventually returns to the range.
A configurable First-Break Failure Timeout controls how many bars the setup remains eligible.

11. ENTRY MODEL — FIRST-BREAK DECISION TREE

The First-Break Decision Tree is a hybrid model that evaluates what happens after the first ORB break.
Instead of automatically assuming that the first breakout should either be followed or faded, the script waits to determine whether the move confirms continuation or fails.
The first breakout direction and extreme are recorded.
Continuation can then be defined as:
TOUCH
Price reaches the breakout threshold.
CLOSE OUTSIDE
Price closes outside the ORB in the breakout direction.
RETEST HOLDS
Price retests the broken boundary and closes back on the breakout side.
If continuation confirms, the strategy trades in the direction of the original breakout.
If the first breakout instead fails and closes back inside the ORB during the allowed failure window, the strategy can reverse and trade against the failed breakout.
This allows a single model to test both:
• Breakout continuation
• Failed-break reversal
using the first interaction with the opening range as the decision point.

For example, on a bid-based chart, a long ask-trigger may occur while the visible bid remains one spread below the intended buy price.

IMPORTANT:
PulseWire Strategy Tester still records the chart-trigger price as the actual historical fill.

🔸 Opening Range
The range locks from a configurable session anchor — Exchange Session (the symbol's own
listed timezone), New York 09:30, New York 08:30 (data), London 08:00, Tokyo 09:00, or a
Custom session/timezone pair — over a configurable window (1–120 minutes). If the chart
timeframe is coarser than the chosen window, the range automatically expands to one full
bar and the dashboard notes the effective duration rather than silently misrepresenting
it.
🔸 Rule Confidence (7-factor score)
Every qualified breakout candidate is scored 0–100 across Trend, Momentum, Volume,
Volatility, Structure, Breakout Quality and Liquidity. Trend itself is a blend (35% EMA
alignment, 25% ADX, 25% higher-timeframe read, 15% slope) — the dashboard breaks out all
seven components individually so the score is never a black box.
🔸 Flow Marks — BO / RT / FBO / Sweep
BO tags the confirmed breakout bar. RT tags a retest of the broken range edge that holds
(with a running count). FBO tags a breakout that closed back inside the range — a false
breakout, not a win or loss judgement. Sweep tags a wick that pierced the range edge and
closed back inside — liquidity taken without a directional close.

🔷 THE KNN ENGINE (LORENTZIAN DISTANCE)
🔸 How the library is built
Every rule-qualified breakout gets a 6-feature fingerprint (trend, momentum, volume,
volatility, structure, breakout quality). Its outcome is then resolved forward, stop
checked first: 1R target reached before the stop = win, stop first = loss, neither
within the configurable outcome window (15–600 minutes) = discarded as undecided —
drifts are never counted as losses, so the base rate reflects only decisive breakouts.
Every qualified candidate is recorded regardless of outcome, so the library grows
without selection bias.
🔸 How a new candidate is voted
A new candidate is compared to the stored library (up to 300 records) by Lorentzian
distance. The K nearest historical analogues (3–15, default 5) vote, and the vote share
is shown on the signal label and dashboard.
🔸 Advisory vs. Gate
Advisory mode (default) displays the vote as context; it never blocks a signal, so the
set of signalling bars stays fully deterministic regardless of library state. Gate mode
(opt-in) also requires the vote to clear a minimum share before a signal fires — this
trades determinism for selectivity and is only meaningful once the library has grown
past a configurable minimum size.
🔸 Read honestly
With a 6-feature fingerprint, the nearest neighbours of a few-hundred-record library
span roughly half of each feature's range — the vote is a coarse regional tendency, not
a precise analogue match. Loading a different amount of chart history can change the
displayed vote (Advisory) or which candidates pass (Gate); this is inherent to on-chart
instance-based learning and is disclosed rather than hidden. The indicator requires a
symbol with volume data — volume-less feeds (some cash indices / spot FX) cannot render
the KNN engine.

What it does
Sessions: New York (09:30 ET), London (08:00 UK), Asia (09:00 Tokyo) — one, all three, or a custom open time and timezone. Each session is tracked independently.
Range length: the first 5m, 15m, 30m, or 1h of the open, or a custom length.
Extend Until: Break Confirmation (default) freezes the range when a candle of your confirmation timeframe (1m–30m) closes outside it. Closed candles only — wicks don't count, nothing repaints. Session End runs the range to the close regardless of breaks.
Every range ends at its market's close (NY 16:00 ET, London 16:30 UK, Tokyo 15:30 JST).
Broken ranges grey out (optional), so live levels stay obvious.

### Tips & Best Practices
- Start with fewer features turned on. Too many lines/boxes can clutter the chart.
- Use the **Present** mode in SMC if you only want the most recent structure (cleaner look).
- The HTF PO3 candles are drawn to the **right** of the current bar — they are projections, not historical candles.
- ORB targets are measured moves based on the Opening Range width. Adjust the % to match the instrument’s typical volatility.

Strategy

Time Based ORBTime Based ORB — Multi-Anchor Opening Ranges with Session Context
WHAT IT DOES
Plots up to three independent, time-anchored opening ranges (defaults: 7:30,
8:50, and 9:30 ET) as boxes with high/low/midpoint lines extended to 16:00 ET,
alongside a session-anchored VWAP and the prior day's key reference levels:
Midnight Open (MNO), Previous Day High (PDH), Previous Day Low (PDL), and
Previous Day Midpoint (PDMid).
WHY THESE COMPONENTS ARE COMBINED
This is not a collection of unrelated tools — it implements one workflow:
trading opening-range breakouts *in context*. An ORB breakout signal alone
has a weak edge; its quality depends on where the range sits relative to
the prior day's structure and whether price is trading with or against
session value:
- The three time anchors map how the range develops: the 7:30 range captures
pre-market structure, the 8:50 range captures positioning just before the
cash open, and the 9:30 range is the classic opening range. Nesting or
expansion between them shows whether the open is compressing or trending.
- PDH/PDL/PDMid define the levels a breakout must clear to have room to run.
A 9:30 breakout directly into PDH is a very different trade than one
breaking out above it.
- Session VWAP acts as the with-value / against-value filter: breakouts
taken on the VWAP side of price have participation behind them; breakouts
against VWAP are treated as fade candidates.
The components share one anchoring engine and one alert framework, which is
why they live in a single script rather than three indicators stacked on
a chart.
HOW IT WORKS
Ranges are captured from the high/low of the bar at each configured ET time,
then drawn as boxes with extended H/L and midpoint lines. Breakout icons
print once per range per day on the first confirmed close outside the range.
Prior-day levels are requested from confirmed daily data (no repainting).
VWAP is session-anchored, matching PulseWire's built-in, with optional
standard-deviation bands. All times use America/New_York regardless of
chart timezone.

Intraday timeframes (1–15 min). Set your anchor times in Settings or use

ORB Opening Range I EonMetrics ORB - Opening Range
ORB marks the opening range — the high and low of the first minutes of a session — and tracks what price does with it for the rest of the day: breakouts by closing price, failed breakouts that snap back inside, and extension levels projected from the range height. The last few days stay on the chart so you can judge at a glance how your instrument actually behaves around its open.
🔶 HOW IT WORKS
From the session open (New York 09:30 by default) the script records the high and low of the first X minutes — 5 to 60, you choose. When the window closes, the range is frozen: a box marks the window, and the high/low lines extend forward until the next session begins. The first candle that CLOSES outside the range tags the breakout; a close back inside within your chosen number of bars tags it as FAILED and re-arms the day.
🔶 WHY THE OPENING RANGE MATTERS
The first minutes of a session concentrate the reactions to everything that accumulated while the market was closed or quiet: overnight news, opening auctions, the first institutional orders of the day. The range those minutes carve out is the day's first agreed-upon value area. That is the reasoning behind the concept, and it is why the tool also tags a move that closes back inside the range rather than only tagging the escape — the two outcomes describe different sessions.
Worth stating plainly: this is the rationale for the concept, not evidence that it works. Whether your instrument respects its opening range is an empirical question about that instrument, and the History setting exists so you can answer it with your own eyes before relying on anything here.
🔶 WHAT IT DOES
Opening range — box over the window (5/15/30/45/60 min), frozen high/low lines extended through the session. Session presets: New York 09:30, London 08:00, Tokyo 09:00, or a fully custom open time with its own timezone (DST handled by the timezone database, not by fixed offsets).
Extension levels — optional lines at ±0.5×, ±1×, ±1.5× and ±2× the range height, projected above the high and below the low. These are reference levels for reading how far a move has traveled relative to the range — the script does not call them targets, because they are not.
Breakout status — evaluated on closing prices only, never on wicks. First close above the high tags ORB ▲, first close below the low tags ORB ▼. A close back inside the range within K bars tags FAIL and re-arms the day, so a later genuine breakout can still be tagged.
History — the last D days of ranges stay on the chart (configurable). Scrolling back through a week of your own instrument is the fastest way to see whether its opening range is worth watching at all.

🔶 HOW TO USE
1. Pick the session that matches your market — NY 09:30 for US indices and metals, London 08:00 for European hours, or a custom time.
2. Pick the window length. 15 and 30 minutes are the classic choices; shorter = earlier levels, noisier range.
3. Watch the first close outside the range — and read a quick close back inside (the FAIL tag) as a description of that session, not as noise to ignore.
4. Set the four alerts and stop watching the open candle by candle.

🔶 HONEST LIMITATIONS
The opening-range concept assumes a session with a real open — indices, metals, forex sessions. On 24/7 crypto a "session open" is a convention: the tool works there mechanically, but the premise behind it is weaker, and you should know that before trading around it. The chart timeframe must be at or below the window length (a 30-minute range cannot be built from hourly bars — the indicator stays empty rather than guessing). This tool draws levels and states facts about closes; it does not generate signals or targets.

Indicator

Opening Range Formation Trace - ORB & Initial BalanceOpening Range Formation Trace is an intraday research indicator that records a configurable opening range, preserves the chronology of its formation, and tracks neutral post-range evidence after the range is complete.
It is intended for users who want to study more than the final opening-range high and low. The script focuses on how the range was built, when its extremes formed, how efficiently price traveled during the opening window, and what occurred after the range locked.
The default opening-range duration is 15 minutes. Setting Range duration to 60 minutes provides an Initial Balance-style workflow.
Session configuration
The script includes reference presets for:
- US equities open
- Tokyo cash open
- London cash open
- CME equity regular trading hours
- Exchange-time opening
- Custom IANA timezone and opening time
The opening time, duration, active weekdays, projection period, and sampling resolution are configurable.
Session presets are editable reference anchors. They are not an exchange holiday or early-close calendar. Users should confirm that the selected opening time and chart session match the instrument being studied.
What makes this implementation distinct
Cumulative formation trace
A conventional opening-range display normally shows only the completed high and low. This script also preserves cumulative high-low envelopes at configurable elapsed-time checkpoints during the opening window.
Each trace slice shows the range that had been reached by that point in time. The slices are cumulative and are not treated as independent mini-ranges.
The trace colors distinguish whether a checkpoint added:
- Upper-side expansion
- Lower-side expansion
- Expansion on both sides
- No new final extreme
This makes it possible to inspect whether the opening range developed through an early directional move, alternating expansion, late acceleration, or rotation.
Independent research checkpoints
The visual trace can use between two and eight time slices. Formation classification does not depend on the selected number of visual slices.
Classification uses separate fixed research checkpoints:
- The halfway point of the opening-range duration
- A user-configurable early checkpoint
This separation allows users to change visual detail without unintentionally changing the definition of the formation classification.
Opening-range measurements
The script calculates the following transparent measurements:
Opening-range width
The completed high-low distance. It is available in native price units and as a percentage of the sampled opening price.
Width percentile
The current width is compared with prior complete opening ranges calculated from the same current configuration.
At least five prior complete observations are required before a percentile is displayed. Equal values receive a midpoint rank. The current observation is ranked before it is added to the comparison history.
The percentile is a relative description of recent opening-range width. It is not a probability of a breakout, target, or profitable result.
Sampled path efficiency
Path efficiency compares the absolute distance from the opening sample to the final sampled close with the cumulative sampled closing-price path traveled during the opening window.
A higher value indicates a more direct sampled path. A lower value indicates more back-and-forth movement.
Path efficiency is descriptive. It is not a confidence score or prediction.
Close location
Close location expresses where the final sampled close sits inside the completed range.
A value near zero is close to the range low. A value near one is close to the range high.
Expansion skew
Expansion skew compares the distance expanded above the opening price with the distance expanded below it.
Positive values indicate more upper-side expansion. Negative values indicate more lower-side expansion. Values near zero indicate more balanced expansion.
Late expansion share
Late expansion share measures how much of the final opening-range width was added after the halfway checkpoint.
This value describes when the range expanded. It does not forecast the next move.
Early checkpoint width share
This measures how much of the final width had already formed at the independent early checkpoint.
Final extreme order
The script records whether the final high or final low was first established earlier in the sampled sequence. When both final extremes are first observed in the same sampled interval, the order is reported as simultaneous rather than inventing a more precise sequence.
Formation classifications
Completed and non-partial opening ranges are assigned to one of eight descriptive formation states:
- Upper-led drive
- Lower-led drive
- Late upper expansion
- Late lower expansion
- Late two-sided expansion
- Rotational formation
- Two-sided formation
- Mixed formation
The classifications are derived from path efficiency, close location, expansion skew, late expansion share, and early checkpoint width share.
All classification thresholds are exposed as user inputs. The classifications are descriptive research labels and are not buy or sell signals.
Research equilibrium
The script can display one of four opening-range equilibrium references:
- Volume-weighted sampled HLC3
- Arithmetic mean of sampled HLC3
- Opening-range midpoint
- Sampled opening price
When usable volume is unavailable, the volume-weighted method falls back to the arithmetic mean of sampled HLC3.
Post-range evidence
After a complete opening range locks, the script can track a neutral sequence of observable events.
Accepted departure
The first accepted departure can occur above or below the completed range.
Users can define acceptance using:
- Sample close
- Sample wick
- A buffer measured as a fraction of the completed range
- A required number of consecutive samples
The word accepted refers only to this configurable operational definition. It does not claim institutional participation or predict continuation.
Re-entry
After the first accepted departure, the script records whether price returns through the departed range boundary.
Opposite-edge traverse
After re-entry, the script records whether a later sample reaches the opposite opening-range edge.
Re-entry and opposite-edge traversal are not credited from the same sampled interval. The opposite edge is evaluated only from a later sample so the script does not invent an intrabar order that the available data cannot prove.
Additional post-range observations include:
- Upper-edge test count
- Lower-edge test count
- Closing-sample dwell inside, above, and below the range
- Maximum upper reach measured in completed-range units
- Maximum lower reach measured in completed-range units
Visual research panel
The fixed research panel summarizes the rightmost relevant opening range in the current chart view.
It can display:
- Formation classification
- Width percentile
- Path efficiency
- Late expansion share
- Current post-range state
- Accepted-departure, re-entry, and traverse progression
- Upper and lower edge-test counts
- Maximum reach above and below the range
- Sampling or fallback resolution
The panel is a research summary. Its colors and state labels do not constitute trade instructions.
Realtime and historical behavior
The script is designed for standard intraday candlestick charts.
It intentionally disables processing on synthetic chart types and daily-or-higher charts because their price construction or session assumptions can make opening-range chronology ambiguous.
Lower-timeframe sampling can be selected from 1, 3, 5, or 15 minutes. When the selected sampling timeframe is higher than the chart timeframe, the chart timeframe is used instead.
During a live opening window, the developing high, low, trace, equilibrium, and panel can update as new completed samples become available. Developing values should therefore be treated as provisional until the configured range has ended.
The script does not request future data and does not use lookahead.
Historical lower-timeframe bars contain finalized OHLC values. They do not reproduce every update that occurred while those bars were live.
Visible chart adaptive mode
In Visible chart adaptive mode, the script uses the current chart viewport to prioritize opening-range sessions that intersect the displayed period. Scrolling or zooming causes the visual layer to be recalculated for the newly visible history.
Most recent sessions mode is also available for users who prefer a rolling, live-first display.
Confirmed chart-bar fallback
The amount of available lower-timeframe history depends on the symbol, chart history, and PulseWire plan.
When lower-timeframe arrays are unavailable on older confirmed bars, the optional fallback can continue the study with confirmed chart-timeframe bars if the chart timeframe can fit inside the configured opening-range duration.
Fallback sessions are identified as coarse-resolution observations in the research panel. They should not be interpreted as having the same chronological precision as lower-timeframe sessions.
If the first available sample begins after the configured session open, the session is marked as partial. Formation classification, width-history inclusion, and post-range evidence are intentionally disabled for that incomplete session.
Alerts and Data Window outputs
Neutral alert conditions are available for:
- Opening range locked
- Accepted departure above
- Accepted departure below
- Range re-entry
- Opposite-edge traverse
The alert conditions describe observable events and are exposed on confirmed chart bars.
Research measurements are also available in the Data Window without adding values to the chart status line.
Suggested workflow
1. Use a standard intraday candlestick chart.
2. Select the session preset or custom timezone and opening time that match the intended research window.
3. Set the opening-range duration. Use 60 minutes for an Initial Balance-style study.
4. Select the finest practical sampling resolution available for the chart and instrument.
5. Review the formation trace before interpreting the completed classification.
6. Use the panel to compare width, path efficiency, late expansion, and the post-range event sequence.
7. Treat all readings as market-context observations and combine them with independent analysis and risk controls.
Limitations
The script does not maintain an official exchange calendar and does not automatically adjust for holidays or early closes.
Results depend on the selected session, duration, sampling timeframe, chart session, and classification thresholds.
Historical lower-timeframe availability varies by symbol and PulseWire plan.
Coarse chart-bar fallback has lower chronological resolution than lower-timeframe sampling.
Volume-weighted equilibrium depends on the quality and meaning of the volume data supplied for the instrument.
Width percentile describes the script's available comparison sample and is not a probability of future behavior.
Formation classifications and post-range evidence describe observed price behavior. They do not guarantee continuation, reversal, support, resistance, or profitability.
The script does not place orders, calculate position size, generate targets or stops, produce a strategy backtest, or provide financial advice.

Volume-Weighted Session Boxes
Each session box fills with the session's assigned color at a transparency that adjusts in real time based on cumulative volume relative to the historical session average. A session running at 2× its normal volume will render noticeably more vivid than one at 0.5×. The base transparency is user-controlled.
Opening Range Breakout (ORB) Levels
The indicator captures the high and low of the first N minutes of each session (configurable: 15 / 30 / 60 min) and draws them as horizontal reference lines. These extend through the rest of the session, serving as the breakout thresholds traders watch for directional continuation.
Volume-Confirmed Breakout Signals
When price closes beyond an ORB level and the breakout bar's volume exceeds the 20-period SMA × a user-defined multiplier (default 1.5×), a directional triangle prints on the chart. No volume confirmation = no signal. This filters out low-conviction breaks.
Unified Session Dashboard
A single professional table displays all session data at a glance:

Load on a 5m–1H chart. The session boxes immediately frame where London, New York, and Asia operated. The fill intensity tells you which session carried the most conviction — use that to weight your analysis toward the active kill zone.
ORB Strategy
After the opening range completes, the ORB-H and ORB-L lines become your breakout thresholds. A volume-confirmed break (▲/▼ marker) signals directional intent. Traders often look for price to retest the broken ORB level as support/resistance before committing to a continuation trade.

- Designed for intraday timeframes (15m and below recommended for ORB accuracy). A warning displays if loaded on Daily or higher.
- During the London/NY overlap window (13:00–17:00 UTC by default), volume is attributed to both sessions. The percentage distribution shows relative contribution, not mutually exclusive slices.
- ORB win rate is a binary metric: did price close beyond the broken ORB level at session end? It does not measure how far price traveled.
- The volume gradient uses transparency modulation, not a multi-stop color gradient, due to Pine Script rendering constraints.

In Auto mode the range anchors to the instrument's own daily session open (the first bar of the day), so it locks to the real NAS100 / NQ open regardless of your feed's server clock; a Custom session-plus-timezone mode is there if you'd rather define the window by hand. Signals are evaluated on the bar's close and are fixed once that bar closes — the range and the break do not repaint.
📈 Range Mapping & ADR Context — while the opening window is live, the engine continuously tracks the developing high, low, and width of the range, then freezes it the moment the window ends. The finished range is measured in points and expressed as a percentage of the instrument's Average Daily Range, a non-repainting daily read, so you instantly see whether the session is coiling tightly or has already burned its move. A clean, proportionate range is a loaded session; an over-wide one is a day that has already spent itself.
🎯 Structural Stop + R-Based Scale-Out — risk (R) is measured from an ATR distance by default — the strongest basis on NAS100 M5 — or against the opposite range edge or the range midline if you prefer, then floored and capped by ATR so it can never collapse into a meaningless stop or balloon into a wide one. TP1, TP2, and TP3 are set at clean R multiples and default to a balanced 1R / 2R / 3R, fully adjustable. The trade model is an honest ⅓ scale-out: one third banks at each target, and after TP1 the remaining two thirds ride with the stop moved to break-even. This Opening Range Breakout indicator goes further: it marks the opening range, detects the first genuine breakout, filters fakeouts, projects measured-move targets, and — uniquely — builds a live breakout statistics engine from the last 100 trading days of the symbol on your chart.
What makes this ORB indicator different
Instead of a static box, you get a data-driven read on how your market actually behaves after the opening range:
First-break direction split — how often the day breaks up vs down
Hold rate — how often the first breakout direction holds into the close
Fakeout rate — how often the first breakout fails back inside the range
Target hit rates — how often price reaches 1x and 2x the opening-range height
So before you take the trade you can see, for example, that on this symbol the upside breakout holds into the close 62% of the time and the 1R target is reached on 48% of breakout days.
How the opening range breakout is calculated
Auto mode works on every market with zero setup. The opening range starts at each day's open of the symbol's own exchange — stocks at the 09:30 session open, crypto at the 00:00 UTC daily open, forex and futures at their session open — and lasts a chosen number of minutes (the classic 5-minute, 15-minute or 30-minute ORB). A Custom mode lets you define any session window, such as the London or New York open.
When the opening-range window closes, the range high and low are locked and projected forward as levels.
The first candle close beyond the range (or wick, if you prefer) is treated as the breakout. Targets are projected at 1x and 2x the range height in the breakout direction.
A close back inside the range before the first target is reached is flagged as a fakeout. A breakout that reaches 1R first and only then returns is counted as a valid breakout, not a fakeout.
At the end of each trading day the outcome is recorded — direction, hold, fakeout, targets — and the dashboard percentages are plain rolling hit rates. No repainting, no curve fitting.
How to use it
Breakout day trading: trade the first breakout with more context — use the hold rate to judge whether the break on your symbol is worth taking, and size your target from the 1R / 2R hit rates.
Fakeout fade: when a symbol shows a high fakeout rate, the failed breakout back inside the range is often the better setup; the fakeout is marked in real time.
Range-quality filter: the dashboard shows the opening range as a multiple of ATR, so you can skip abnormally small ranges that tend to break out randomly.

Futures Sessions with NY Opening Range, Levels, FVGs, & HolidaysThis is a session-anchored intraday framework for futures. Every element on the chart is derived from the same session definitions, so the tools stay consistent with each other: the sessions paint the ranges, the completed ranges leave behind levels, the level lifecycle is tied to the session clock, the NY Opening Range anchors the morning, fair value gaps give context inside the ranges, and holiday markers explain the days when sessions are missing or shortened.
Session Ranges
Each market session is defined using IANA names (America/New_York, Asia/Tokyo) – never fixed UTC offsets. The indicator renders identically no matter what timezone your chart is set to (Exchange, New York, etc). Daylight saving is handled automatically: New York flips between EST and EDT on its own, and Tokyo has no DST, so its position against the New York clock simply shifts with the US clock changes (Tokyo's 9:00 open lands at 20:00 New York in summer, 19:00 in winter).
Each session is a shaded fill: Asia in red, London in yellow, New York in blue as defaults.
NY Pre-Open: a dotted range tracks the morning trade from the ORB open at 8:00 America/New_York until the session fill starts at 9:30. It is derived from the ORB input, so moving the ORB moves it too.
Globex Open: the CME futures trading day opens at 18:00 America/New_York (17:00 Chicago), indicated by the pre-open dotted range before the session fill starts at Tokyo open when volume comes in.
New York Opening Range (ORB)
The ORB captures the range of the America/New_York 8:00–8:15 candle, shown as a box with a dashed midline in maroon. It is visible on all smaller timeframes and up to 1h. The ORB ends on the last candle of the New York session — the end time is derived from the NY session input, so the two can never drift apart.
If the ORB range is oversized (18 or more points, configurable), the box is flagged with a red "ORB INVALID" label and shows the range in points.
Sessions Levels (Untested Highs and Lows)
When a session completes, its final highs (black) and lows (teal) are drawn from the candle and extend to the right indefinitely until a level is tested on its first touch. You can configure whether a test means a wick touch (ICT/liquidity style, the default) or a candle close beyond the level (support/resistance style).
Tested levels stay on the chart until the session running at the time of the test ends, so you can use them as points of reference until then. During the London/NY overlap, New York counts as the running session. A level tested during a session gap survives the gap and is handed to the next session that opens. At the NY ORB open at 8:00, all tested levels are removed to prevent clutter.
Untested levels never expire. You can toggle the prices on the price scale on or off based on preference.
Fair Value Gaps
Classic three-candle imbalances in both directions: bullish when a candle's low is above the high from two candles back, bearish when a candle's high is below the low from two candles back. Gaps are shaded in green (by default, configurable) from the middle candle and extend to the right until price trades fully through it (bullish: a low at or below the gap bottom; bearish: a high at or above the gap top), then it is removed. Each gap can draw its Consequent Encroachment — a dashed line at the 50% of the gap, the level where a gap is commonly considered mitigated. Inputs: fill color, CE toggle and color, minimum gap size in points (useful on low timeframes), and a cap on how many gaps are kept.
Holiday Markers
US (NYSE) holidays: a dotted vertical line and a Statue of Liberty marker anchored to the ORB's first candle. Detection is fully rule-based — weekday-observance rules for every holiday, and Good Friday computed from the Easter algorithm (Butcher's computus), so nothing is hardcoded and no yearly maintenance is needed.
Note: NYSE does not observe New Year's on the prior Friday when January 1 falls on a Saturday, and holidays observed on a Friday/Monday (like July 4 on a weekend) are marked on the actual closure day.
Japanese holidays: a dotted vertical line and a shrine marker anchored to the Tokyo session's first candle. Covers the fixed-date holidays, the Happy Monday holidays, both equinox holidays (astronomical formulas, valid through 2150), Monday substitute holidays, the occasional Silver Week citizens' holiday, and the TSE year-end closures (Dec 31, Jan 2, Jan 3).
Markers sit at the bottom of the pane. Days when CME is fully closed have no bars, so there is nothing to mark — markers appear on holidays with shortened or normal trading.
Alert
One built-in alert condition: Tokyo Range Break — fires when price closes outside the completed Tokyo session range, active from the Tokyo close until 11:30 New York time.
How to Use
Built for intraday charts of 1h and below (it draws nothing on higher timeframes). The ORB needs a 15-minute chart or lower to line up with whole candles. Defaults are tuned for CME index futures (ES/MES); the session inputs work on any symbol with continuous futures-style hours. Old drawings persist until Pine's 500-object limits trim the oldest.
These tools are combined because each one feeds the next: the sessions define the ranges, the completed ranges produce the levels, the level lifecycle runs on the session clock and the ORB open, the pre-open dotted ranges share the same derived timings, and the holiday markers explain the days when the rest of the framework is dark. Why this indicator is different
The opening range is one of the most studied concepts in intraday trading, and for good reason. The first fifteen minutes after a major session opens concentrates the most institutional activity of the day. Breakouts from that range, followed by a retest of the level, are among the most statistically consistent setups available on lower timeframes.
The problem is execution. Most opening range tools stop at the box. They draw a high and low, and leave the trader to figure out the rest: when to trade, how to confirm direction, where the liquidity sits, how to time the entry. That gap between the concept and a usable trade is where most ORB approaches fall apart in practice.
The ORB Engine closes that gap. It does not just draw a box. It tracks the full sequence from formation through confirmation through entry, enforces a discipline around when trades are allowed, maps the session liquidity levels that the price is most likely to target or react from, and scores each setup against five confluence criteria before a signal fires. The result is a complete framework for opening range trading that works across instruments and timeframes.

1. Overview
The ORB Engine is an overlay indicator that combines opening range detection, breakout confirmation, three entry modes, session liquidity mapping, and a five-point confluence scoring system into a single framework. It is designed for intraday scalping and day trading on any instrument and any timeframe below one hour.
What it includes:
- Opening range box (configurable start and end times) with high, low, and midpoint lines
- Wait period enforcement that blocks entries until the active window opens
- Master toggle to disable the wait period entirely for pure ORB breakout use
- Volume-confirmed breakout detection, active as soon as the box closes
- Three entry modes: midpoint retest, breakout retest, and immediate
- Stop loss and take profit lines (1:1, 1:2, 1:3) drawn on entry
- Trade close detection: dashboard and background reset when stop or final target is hit
- Session liquidity engine with live (dotted) and locked (solid) levels for Asia, London, and NY sessions

2. Core concepts
2.1 The opening range box
The box captures the high and low of a configurable time window at the start of the active trading session. The default is the first fifteen minutes of the New York session (14:00-14:15 Amsterdam / 08:00-08:15 New York), which concentrates the most institutional activity of the intraday day. The box is drawn as soon as it closes, with a solid high line, a solid low line, and a dotted midpoint line that extends as the session progresses.
The box range is shown in the dashboard. A narrow box suggests tight price discovery. A wide box suggests early volatility and may require a wider stop if trading it directly.
2.2 The wait period
Breakouts in the first sixty to ninety minutes after a major open are frequently false. Institutional players test liquidity in both directions before committing. The wait period blocks entries from firing until a configurable time, defaulting to 15:30 Amsterdam / 09:30 New York, when the first significant volume wave of the day typically confirms direction.
Critically, breakout direction is still tracked during the wait period. If price breaks above the box high at 14:30 and the wait ends at 15:30, the system already knows the direction is bullish when the active window opens. The entry trigger then watches for the configured retest from that point, without waiting for a new breakout signal.
The wait period can be disabled entirely with the master toggle. With it off, the entry triggers are active immediately after the box closes, which is useful for strategies that do not rely on the NY open timing.
2.3 Entry modes
Three entry modes cover the main ways traders approach ORB setups.
Midpoint retest: the most conservative mode. After a confirmed breakout, the indicator waits for price to pull back to the box midpoint, close on the correct side of it, and then fires the entry signal. This mode is best when the session shows clear reversion behavior after the initial breakout impulse.
Breakout retest: waits for price to retest the box boundary itself (high for a bull breakout, low for a bear breakout) after the initial breakout bar, and fires on a candle that touches the level and closes on the breakout side. This mode suits trending sessions where price breaks cleanly, pulls back briefly to the level, and then continues.
Immediate: fires directly on the confirmed breakout candle. If the breakout happened during the wait period, the entry fires on the first bar of the active window. This is the most aggressive mode and is appropriate when the trader expects strong directional continuation without a pullback.
2.4 Breakout confirmation
A breakout is not registered on a close outside the box alone. The breakout candle's volume must exceed the average volume by a configurable multiplier (default 1.3x). This filters breakouts driven by thin participation, which are more likely to fail on the retest. The volume average and multiplier are both adjustable.
2.5 Stop loss and take profit
The stop loss is placed beyond the opposite side of the box, with a small ATR-based buffer. The buffer multiplier is configurable, allowing tighter or wider placement depending on the instrument and timeframe.
Take profit targets are calculated at 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 risk-to-reward ratios from the entry level, each toggleable independently. All active levels are drawn as dashed lines from the entry bar and labeled on the chart. The dashboard shows the price levels for active targets.
When the stop is hit or the final active take profit is reached, the dashboard resets to a neutral state. The chart lines remain as a visual record.
2.6 Retest timeout
The retest modes have a configurable bar-count timeout. If price does not return to the required level within that number of bars after the active window opens (or after the breakout, if the wait period is off), the setup expires. The dashboard shows the expired state. The default is 100 bars, which on a 1-minute chart is 100 minutes and on a 5-minute chart is roughly eight hours, so adjust this per timeframe and strategy.
3. Session liquidity engine
3.1 Why session levels matter
Price does not move randomly between sessions. The high and low of the Asia, London, and NY sessions represent pools of resting orders: stops clustered above highs, stops clustered below lows. These are the levels institutional flow targets first. A breakout above the ORB box that is also pushing toward an untested session high is a very different proposition from a breakout into empty space.
The ORB Engine maps these levels automatically and keeps them visible across the session, so the confluence between the ORB setup and the nearest liquidity pool is always visible at a glance.
3.2 Live and locked levels
While a session is in progress, the indicator draws dotted lines for the developing high and low. These lines update in real time as new extremes are set within the window. If price sweeps through what was the high at 03:00 before London has closed, the dotted line moves up immediately, reflecting the new developing high. This prevents the missed sweep problem where a level was set early and then exceeded without the chart updating.
When a session closes, the dotted lines are replaced by solid locked lines. These represent the final confirmed high and low of that session.
3.3 Tested and untested levels
Once a session closes, its levels are tracked for mitigation. If price returns to a locked level and wicks through it, the level is marked as tested by fading to a configurable transparency. It does not disappear. Tested levels can act as re-entry points or warn that a previous pool has been cleared. The untested level count in the dashboard tells you how many unmitigated levels are still active on the chart.
3.4 Previous session levels
When a new session begins, the previous session's locked levels are relabeled with a P. prefix (e.g., P.Asia.H, P.NY.L) immediately at the start of the new session, not when it closes. This makes it immediately clear which levels are current and which are historical. The show previous day toggle controls whether one additional day of locked levels is retained alongside today's.
3.5 Vertical session lines
Vertical lines mark the open and close of each session window in the session's color. Style (solid or dotted) and width are configurable. The lines appear only for the current day and are cleaned up automatically at the next session start.
4. Confluence score
The dashboard shows a five-point confluence score for the current setup, displayed as a bar-style meter (▰▰▰▱▱) with the numeric value alongside. The five criteria are:
1. Box formed: the opening range has closed and the high, low, and midpoint are locked.
2. Volume confirmed: the breakout candle exceeded the volume threshold.
3. Liquidity bias consistent: the breakout direction aligns with the nearest untested session level in that direction (e.g., a bull breakout with an untested high above is a stronger setup than a bull breakout with no untested level overhead).
4. Retest within time: the entry fired before the timeout expired.
5. Risk-to-reward viable: the stop distance is within a configurable multiple of the box range, confirming the setup is not overextended.
A score of 3 or above indicates a setup where multiple factors are confirming each other. A score of 1 or 2 means fewer criteria are met and the setup carries more uncertainty. The score updates live.
5. Timezone and session configuration
All time inputs in the ORB Engine are entered in the user's own timezone. Set your UTC offset once in the Timezone group at the top of the settings, and then enter box start, box end, active window start, session end, and all session liquidity windows in your local clock time. The indicator converts everything to New York time internally.
The dashboard shows a live local clock (Now), the box and active window times in your timezone (Box / Active), and the current UTC offset in the row label so the conversion is always visible.
This design means users in Amsterdam, Dubai, Singapore, or New York all configure the same indicator the same way, in the time they think in, without manually calculating offsets.
6. Status background coloring
The chart background changes state with the setup:
- No background: before the box forms, or after the session ends.
- Red tint: the box has formed and the wait period is active. Entries are blocked.
- Green tint: an entry has fired and the trade is active.
The background colors, their transparency, and whether they are shown at all are individually configurable. The default transparency is high enough to not obscure the candles.
7. Dashboard reference
The dashboard updates on every bar and shows:
Box Status - forming, formed, or —.
Box Range - the distance between the box high and low in ticks.
Wait Status - waiting with remaining minutes, active, disabled, or —.
Breakout - bull, bear, or none.
Entry Mode - the currently selected entry mode.
Midpoint Retest / Breakout Retest / Entry Trigger - the retest status: waiting, fired, expired, or —.
Entry - long, short, or —.
Confluence Score - the five-point bar meter and numeric value.
TP Levels - price levels for each active take profit target, or — if no trade is open.
Session / Untested - the current session name and the count of untested liquidity levels.
Now (UTC offset) - the current local clock time in the configured timezone.
Box / Active - the box window and active window start times in local time.
8. Alerts
Nine alert conditions are available:
- Bull breakout: a volume-confirmed close above the box high.
- Bear breakout: a volume-confirmed close below the box low.
- Long entry signal: a long entry trigger has fired.
- Short entry signal: a short entry trigger has fired.
- Long stop loss hit: the long trade stop has been reached.
- Short stop loss hit: the short trade stop has been reached.
- Long final TP hit: the long trade reached the final active take profit.
- Short final TP hit: the short trade reached the final active take profit.
- Near untested liquidity level: price is within a configurable ATR distance of an untested session level.
9. How to use
9.1 Basic workflow
Set your timezone. Enter the box and session times in your local clock. The wait period defaults to the New York 09:30 open equivalent in your timezone, which is when the most reliable ORB confirmations historically occur.
Let the box form. The dashboard shows the forming state during the box window and transitions to formed when it closes. The box range gives you an immediate read on how much price discovery happened.
Observe the breakout. The system detects breakouts as soon as the box closes, even during the wait period. The dashboard shows the breakout direction and a dot appears on the breakout candle. With the wait period on, the background turns red and entries are blocked.
Wait for the active window. When the wait period ends, the background stays neutral and the entry trigger activates. Depending on the entry mode, it is now watching for a midpoint touch, a boundary retest, or it already fired immediately at the open of the active window.
Check the score. A confluence score of 3 or above with a clean entry signal in the context of a nearby untested session level is the strongest combination the system can produce.
9.2 Entry mode selection
Use midpoint retest on sessions that show clear pullback behavior after the initial breakout impulse. Use breakout retest on sessions that trend strongly but pause briefly at the broken level before continuing. Use immediate when price is moving fast and a retest is unlikely, or when you want to be positioned as early as possible in the active window.
9.3 Session levels as context
Before entering any signal, check which session levels are nearby. An entry directly into an untested opposite-side level is likely to stall or reverse at that level. An entry away from all untested levels, in the direction of the next unmitigated pool, is a cleaner setup. The dashboard untested count and the live chart lines give you this context without any additional tools.
9.4 Illustrative bull scenario
Educational example only. Not a trading recommendation.
The opening range forms between 14:00 and 14:15 with a 20-point range. At 14:35, a candle closes above the box high on 1.6 times average volume. The breakout is confirmed as bull, and the wait period background turns red. At 15:30 the active window opens. Price is still above the box high and the midpoint retest mode is active. At 15:42, price dips back to the midpoint, wicks it, and closes above. The entry fires long. Score is 4/5: box formed, volume confirmed, retest in time, and RR viable. The NY.L below is the nearest untested level, well below the stop, so it is not a concern. TP1 is hit 18 minutes later.
9.5 Illustrative bear scenario
Educational example only. Not a trading recommendation.
A narrow 12-point box forms and breaks below the low at 14:28 on heavy volume. The breakout retest mode is selected. The wait period holds entries. At 15:30, price is trading 30 points below the box low. The system begins watching for a pullback back to the box low. At 15:44, price rallies back to the box low, taps it, and closes below. Short entry fires. Score is 3/5. Stop is placed above the box high with ATR buffer. TP2 is reached before the session ends.
10. Settings reference
Timezone: UTC offset selector for all time inputs and the dashboard clock.
Opening range box: start hour, start minute, end hour, end minute (all in local timezone), box color, box fill transparency, max box history in days.
Wait period: enable toggle, active window start hour and minute, session end hour and minute.
Entry settings: breakout volume multiplier, volume average length, retest timeout in bars, ATR length, stop loss ATR buffer, TP 1:1/1:2/1:3 toggles, SL/TP line projection in bars.
Session liquidity: show toggles for Asia, London, and NY with individual start and end times, colors, tested level transparency, line extend bars, show previous day toggle, label text size, show session vertical lines toggle, vertical line style and width, proximity alert toggle and ATR distance.
Confluence score: maximum risk-to-reward sanity check multiplier.
Dashboard: show toggle, position, text size.
Visualization: wait period background show, color, and transparency; entry active background show, color, and transparency.
11. Known limitations
The ORB Engine is designed for sessions that produce a directional move after the opening range. It performs best when the market has a clear bias — a breakout in one direction that holds and then retests cleanly before continuing.
In choppy, sideways price action, the indicator will produce repeated stop loss hits. If the opening range is narrow and price oscillates around the box boundaries without committing to a direction, a breakout in one direction can be followed immediately by a breakout in the opposite direction. Because the system locks breakout direction on the first confirmed move, subsequent reversals are not re-evaluated as a new setup within the same session. The result in choppy conditions is typically one or two stop loss hits before the session ends without a valid directional move.
This is not a flaw in the indicator — it reflects the reality that opening range strategies depend on directional follow-through. On days where the market is consolidating at the session open, no ORB approach will perform well. The confluence score provides some protection: a score below 3 indicates fewer confirming factors and may warrant sitting on the sidelines. The session liquidity levels can also help — if there is no clear untested level in the breakout direction, the setup has no obvious target and the probability of follow-through is lower.
The volume confirmation filter reduces false breakouts in thin conditions, but it does not eliminate them on highly volatile instruments where even noise candles can exceed the volume threshold. On assets with very low liquidity, the breakout volume multiplier should be raised above the default 1.3 to filter more aggressively.
On very low timeframes such as 1-minute charts, the retest timeout in bars covers fewer minutes. A timeout of 100 bars on a 1-minute chart gives 100 minutes of window. Adjust the timeout per timeframe to reflect how long a valid retest can realistically take on the instrument you are trading.

It records the high and low of an opening-range window you define, locks that range at session close, then signals breakouts above or below it and projects a stop-loss and up to three take-profit targets for each one. It is market-agnostic: session, timezone, active days, confirmation style, risk model, filters, visuals and alerts are all inputs, so the same tool adapts to indices, futures, forex, crypto or stocks on any intraday timeframe.
THE OPENING RANGE
- Define the range by session time and timezone (e.g. 0930-0945 New York for the first 15 minutes of the US cash open), with presets for the major world market zones.
- Choose which weekdays are active (Mon to Sun).
- The range builds live during the window, then locks at session close. Optionally extend the locked levels across the rest of the day.
BREAKOUT DETECTION
- Confirmation: require a bar to close beyond the level, or count any wick / touch.
- Signal mode: the first breakout of the day only, or every breakout.
- Optional retest: after the initial break, wait for price to return to the broken level and resume in the breakout direction before signalling.
RISK MODEL
- Stop-loss: opposite OR boundary, OR midpoint, ATR, fixed ticks, or percent.
- Take-profit: risk multiple (R), OR-range multiple, ATR, fixed ticks, or percent, with up to three targets.
- Levels are computed from the entry, drawn with labels, and their hits are tracked bar by bar.
FILTERS
- OR size filter: skip days whose range is too small or too large (in ticks or percent) to avoid low-quality sessions.
- One trade per day.
- Volume confirmation: require the breakout bar's volume to exceed its moving average.
VISUALS & INFO
- Opening-range box and high/low lines, breakout labels, and SL/TP lines, all with configurable colours, width and style.

HOW TO USE
Apply it to an intraday chart and set the OR session and timezone to match your instrument — the US cash open, a forex session open, or any window you trade. Tune the stop and target model to your risk approach, add the size, volume or one-trade-per-day filters if you want stricter conditions, and set alerts on the events you care about. Every module toggles independently, so you can keep the chart minimal or fully detailed.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Rather than a fixed opening-range window with a single stop and target rule, everything is parameterised: five stop methods, five target methods with up to three targets, an optional retest condition, size and volume filters, and full timezone / session / weekday control — so one tool fits very different instruments and playbooks while staying non-repainting.
REPAINTING & LIMITATIONS
Breakout signals and stop/target hits are evaluated only on confirmed (closed) bars, so historical and realtime behaviour match — the tool does not repaint. The opening-range box and lines update live while the range is still forming, which is expected. It runs on intraday timeframes only; on daily or higher it displays a notice instead of drawing.
