▌WHY THIS INDICATOR IS USEFUL
Market Impact Calendar was designed for a simple purpose: not just to display economic releases, but to help estimate their potential weight on a trading day.
Instead of a simple news list, the indicator provides a more structured reading:
- a monthly calendar directly on the chart,
- a daily impact score,
- weighting based on your own trading sessions,
- integration of special US market days,
- daylight saving time (DST) schedule information,
- and a bulletin mode to summarize the selected day quickly.
The goal is not to predict the market, but to provide a visual decision-support tool helping traders identify whether a day looks calm, moderate, or sensitive.
▌CREDITS & TECHNICAL BASE
This indicator uses the public Pine libraries “forex_factory_decoding” and “forex_factory_utility” from the original open-source work by toodegrees, based on Forex Factory data handling.
The main script, calendar logic, scoring system, interface, bulletin logic, trading-session weighting, special US day handling, and DST integration were developed in this version by E2PZ Continuum.
▌WHAT THIS INDICATOR DOES
The indicator processes economic releases through the imported libraries, then reorganizes them into a market-impact-oriented structure:
- classification of releases by time segment,
- grouping by day,
- filtering by impact level,
- weighting based on the related currency,
- weighting based on your trading hours,
- optional bonuses for major event types,
- final synthesis into a daily score and visual calendar display.
Each calendar day is therefore simplified into an operational reading:
- green = generally light day,
- orange = moderately sensitive day,
- red = potentially heavier or riskier day.
▌WHAT MAKES THIS VERSION ORIGINAL
This indicator is not a simple repackaging of raw economic data.
Its added value comes from:
- a full monthly calendar view directly displayed on the chart,
- a trading-oriented daily impact score,
- custom weighting through up to three trading-session levels,

- DST information displayed in tooltips,

▌HOW TO USE IT
1. Choose whether to display the calendar, the bulletin, or both.
2. Select your timezone.
3. Configure your primary, secondary, and tertiary trading sessions.
4. Select which news impact levels should be included.
5. Navigate through the month or manually select a specific day.
6. Use Bulletin mode if you want a more narrative summary of the selected day.
Quick reading:
- a colored cell gives a visual estimate of the day’s sensitivity,

▌HOW THE SCORE SHOULD BE INTERPRETED
The daily score is a synthetic estimate.
It is not an absolute truth about future volatility.
It combines multiple elements:
- release importance,
- related currency,
- release timing,
- proximity to your trading sessions,
- clustering of multiple releases on the same day,
- and the context of special US market days.
This means that a red day does not guarantee strong volatility, and a green day does not guarantee a quiet market.
▌WARNINGS & LIMITATIONS
This indicator depends on an external source related to economic releases.
Like any third-party source, it may occasionally be delayed, incomplete, or partially updated.
The displayed score remains an internal estimate.
It helps rank days, but it does not replace personal analysis or manual verification of important releases.
Some future dates may remain neutral until the source has published the corresponding weekly data.
This indicator is designed as a preparation and decision-support tool, not as an automatic entry or exit signal.

Day Of Week Price Distribution [LuxAlgo]The Day of Week Price Distribution provides a snapshot of the distribution of closing prices for each day of the week over the last few weeks selected by the user. It displays a box plot with the IQR (interquartile range) box, the median, and all the closing prices as dots. Hovering over each dot reveals key information. There is also a dashboard with core metrics of the data for the selected period.
🔶 USAGE
Using the tool is pretty straightforward. Users must select the number of weeks (10 by default) and the box plot spacing (20 by default) to match the desired visual.
This is a unique way to see the data represented on the chart. It allows you to understand the price distribution at a glance.
Each box represents the price for each day of the week and displays the following elements:
Box: Represents the data's IQR, which is delimited by the 25th and 75th percentiles.
The line represents the median, or the 50th percentile.
Dots represent each data point; these are the closing prices for each day. Hovering over the dots displays the closing price, change in price, volume, and date for that day.
Traders can easily detect outliers, which are prices far from their respective boxes.
This chart allows us to compare the price distribution for different window parameters. As we can see, the more data points that are used, the more uniform each day becomes.
The dashboard displays the following core metrics:
Highest price: Highest price in the dataset
Lowest price: Lowest price in the dataset
Most bullish delta: Largest price increase from open to close
Most bearish delta: Largest price decrease from open to close
Larger volume: Day with the highest volume
Smaller volume: Day with the lowest volume

Peak Trading Activity Graphs [LuxAlgo]The Peak Trading Activity Graphs displays four graphs that allow traders to see at a glance the times of the highest and lowest volume and volatility for any month, day of the month, day of the week, or hour of the day. By default, it plots the median values of the selected data for each period. Traders can enable the Median Delta feature to further highlight differences in the data. The graphs are customizable in width and height and feature gradient colors by default.
🔶 USAGE
The tool is simple yet powerful. Using the three main parameters on the settings panel, traders can display up to four different graphs and up to 16 different configurations.
There are two main types of data: volume and volatility. There are also four different time periods: months, days of the month, days of the week, and hours of the day. There is also the possibility of displaying the raw medians or the delta between them.
Understanding which time periods have the most and least volume and volatility is essential for any trader. From avoiding trading during periods of low volume to properly sizing positions during periods of high volatility, there are multiple use cases directly related to improving execution and risk management.
🔹 Months
This chart shows the monthly volume and volatility of NQ as medians at the top and as the delta of medians at the bottom.
As we can see on the left-hand chart, the volume is fairly consistent throughout the year. January, March, and October have the highest volume, and December has the lowest volume for obvious reasons. Note the bottom chart with the delta feature enabled, which clearly shows the top and bottom periods.
On the right, we have volatility, which is also evenly distributed throughout most months. October is the most volatile month, and March is the least volatile month. The differences are also very clear on the bottom chart with delta enabled.
Traders may want to compare median volatility and volume by month to size positions and favor exposure during historically high-activity months.
🔹 Days of Month
The same NQ charts are shown, but in this case, the Days of Month period has been selected. As you can see, this displays a calendar-like graph. The volume is on the left, the volatility is on the right, and the delta feature is enabled on the bottom charts. This feature allows for stronger differences in gradient.
The top charts show that the raw medians of both volume and volatility are evenly distributed. We need to enable the delta feature on the bottom charts to see where the most and least volume and volatility are.
Traders can use median activity by calendar day to anticipate liquidity expansions or contractions and adjust trade frequency.
🔹 Days of Week
In this case, we have BTC charts with the same layout as before. Notably, the difference in volume on weekends is not as pronounced from a volatility perspective on those same days.
A practical use case can be differentiate high-risk, high-participation weekdays from low-activity sessions to select trend or range-based strategies.
🔹 Hours of Day
This shows the volume and volatility of each hour of the day for gold futures. As we can see, the most volume and volatility occur during the three hours around the RTH open at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 a.m.
Traders may want to isolate hours with the highest median volatility and volume to concentrate execution and avoid low-liquidity periods.
🔹 Assets Comparison
This tool allows us to compare different assets over the same period. In this case, we are comparing the hours of the day for 10-year notes, the S&P 500, silver, and the yen. Each asset has a different volatility profile throughout the day.
With the Delta feature enabled, we can clearly see the differences. The 10Y Notes move from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 2:00 to 9:00. The Yen moves from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 2:00 to 9:00. Silver moves from 8:00 to 10:00. The S&P 500 moves from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 14:00 to 15:00. All times are in exchange time.
🔹 Sizing & Coloring Graphs
Traders can adjust the width and height of the graphs, as well as the text size, at will.
Traders can choose from four different color configurations in the settings panel.

Data: Select the type of data to display: Volume or Volatility.
Period: Select the time period to display: Month, Day of Month, Day of Week, or Hours.
Display delta between medians. Display the difference between the medians as a percentage. The smaller median is 0 and the larger median is 100. Enabling this feature highlights the differences between values.

Economic Calendar EventsThis indicator provides an overlay of Events on the main chart, where each Event is visually represented by a Label and vertical Line, placed at the specified time interval for each Event.
Events are defined by user data as an input string on the settings widget panel for the indicator. The event data is a string (semicolon delimited) whose grammar is a representation of a collection of Event records, where each Event record is a comma-separated list of fields, which correspond to:
The name of the event.
The symbol or ticker to which the Event applies (or `*` if it should apply to all ticklers).
The timezone and then the year, month, day, hour, and minute of the event, respectively.
Each Event record is separated by the semicolon ";" character.
As an example , assume `evantData` is the string:

Buy Sell Calendar [LuxAlgo]The Buy Sell Calendar indicator displays a calendar showing the sentiment for the current day/month. Three different methods can be used to determine this sentiment.
The calendar can also highlight the percentage of bullish days/months for a month/year.
🔶 SETTINGS
Frequency: Calendar frequency, options include "Daily" and "Monthly"
Sentiment Method: Method used to determine the sentiment for the day/month, options include: "Linreg", "Accumulated Deltas", and "Max/Min"
Timezone Offset: UTC time zone offset.
Limit Date: Limit date used by the calendar, the sentiment of days/months outside this limit will not be returned.
🔹 Calendar
Show Calendar: Determines whether to display or hide the calendar.
Location: Location of the calendar on the chart.
Size: Calendar size.
🔶 USAGE
The proposed script can allow users to quickly determine if a specific day/month is considered bullish or bearish. A green cell is used for bullish days/months, while a red one is used for bearish days/months.
Additionally vertical lines are displayed on new days/months with a color highlighting the current sentiment for this specific day/month. Note that this is done retrospectively, the color of a line set at time t might differ at time t+n .
🔶 SENTIMENT METHODS
Determining whether a day/month is bullish or bearish can be done using three different methods. Note that each method makes use of the closing price as the input, and as such can eventually return different results depending on the selected timeframe. Each method is described below:
🔹 Linreg
The Linreg method fit lines between each day/month using the method of least squares and determines if that particular day is bullish or bearish based on the line slope sign. For example, a rising line would indicate a bullish day/month.
🔹 Accumulated Deltas
The method of accumulated deltas simply accumulates bullish and bearish price changes for the current day/month, the result with the highest magnitude determines the sentiment for that day/month.
🔹 Max/Min
The max/min method computes a trailing maximum and a trailing minimum for the current day/month. The sentiment is determined by the price position relative to the average between the obtained maximum/minimum, with a bullish sentiment being determined if price is above the average. Indicator

This script helps train your intuition for changes in the VX term structure. I recommend using it on the VIX chart, so you can compare changes in the terms to changes in VIX. It's also nice for calendar spread traders who want to get a feel for the same changes.
1. Select a day, month, and year using the inputs
2. Observe the data table.
3. Open the input again and increment or decrement the day (and month, year as necessary).
4. Click "Ok".
5. Click to deselect the indicator, which allows the chart to load new data.
6. The data table will be reloaded with the next/previous day's data.
The data table has the following columns:
- contract: the VX contracts, in sequence. refer to the CBOE for month codes (F for January, etc.)
- close: the closing price of the contract.
- ma:mb: the spread (difference) between this row and the next row.
- ma:mb chg: the spread's change from prior close.
For example, given the following values for the first two columns:
VXQ2021, 16.5, -3.1, -0.2
VXU2021, 19.6, ..., ...
The front month (Q = august) closed at 16.5, $3.1 below the s\September contract. The negative spread enlarged by $0.20 from $2.90 on the previous trading day.
BUGS, ODDITIES, AND LIMITATIONS:

- The first column will be greyed out after expiration day, which is the 3rd Tuesday of that month. Unfortunately, I can't load the next month's contract due to some limitations with TV.
- The active date is highlighted with a yellow background. When a non-trading date is selected, the highlight will disappear. However, the data table will sometimes fill with the nearest trading date, prematurely. No worries, just know that the data is probably for the previous Friday.
- The script is clunky and slow, but this is the best I can do with TV. Hopefully they add more continuous contracts or allow true dynamic symbol loading.
