OI-PNC Levels is a script that displays the open interest (OI) and net short positions (PNC) of a selection of 20 of the most significant stocks in terms of traded value on the Italian market.

- PNC are indicated by red dotted lines starting from the close of the last reported change date;
- The most significant open interest by number of contracts (Top 10 Calls and Top 10 Puts) are displayed using labels, all on a single line (Strike, CALL, PUT);

Livelli OI-PNC è uno script che permette di visualizzare gli open interest (OI) e le Posizioni Nette Corte (PNC) di una selezione di 20 titoli tra i più significativi per controvalore movimentato del mercato italiano.
- Le PNC vengono indicate tramite Linee tratteggiate rosse che partono dal close della data di ultima variazione comunicata;
- Sono riportati tramite labels, gli Open Interest più significativi per num.Contratti (Top 10 Call e top 10 Put) tutto su una unica riga per ogni strike (Strike, CALL, PUT);
- E' attivabile una Tabella di riepilogo.
Poiché Pine Script non può leggere direttamente file da URL esterni, i dati sono hardcorati tramite array statici e vanno aggiornati periodicamente. Dati aggiornati al 03/11/2025

- Max Pain: La teoria del Max Pain (o Maximum Pain Theory) ipotizza che alla scadenza delle opzioni il prezzo del titolo tenda a gravitare verso lo strike price che causa la perdita finanziaria complessiva più elevata per i compratori di opzioni. A questo livello, i venditori di opzioni (tipicamente istituzionali e market maker) traggono il massimo profitto, facendo scadere prive di valore la maggior quantità di opzioni Call e Put. Come si calcola:
Per identificare il Max Pain, l'algoritmo valuta ogni strike presente a listino come ipotetico prezzo di chiusura alla scadenza. Per ogni strike candidato calcola il valore intrinseco cumulato delle opzioni che risulterebbero In-The-Money (ITM). Lo strike che ottiene il valore di perdita più basso in assoluto viene definito Max Pain. Nello script, il calcolo viene eseguito sia sul campione totale dei contratti (Max Pain), sia isolando la componente a breve termine (Max Pain BT).
Nuovi Parametri:
- InputshowTable: mostra o nasconde la tabella statistica in alto a destra.
- valoreTopN: (da 1 a 20) Num.Label Openinterest da visualizzare showTopNLabels: Abilita le LABEL di Open Interest complessivo (tutte le scadenze) e attiva il tracciamento della linea orizzontale del Max Pain totale.
- showBTLabels: Abilita le LABEL di Open Interest a Breve Termine (<=30 giorni) + traccia Max Pain BT.

- Update: The open interest ranking per stock has been expanded from the top 10 to the top 20 to provide greater statistical significance.
- Max Pain: The Max Pain theory posits that, at option expiration, the stock price tends to gravitate toward the strike price that causes the greatest aggregate financial loss for option buyers. At this level, option sellers (typically institutions and market makers) realize maximum profit, as the largest number of Call and Put options expire worthless. Calculation method:
To identify Max Pain, the algorithm evaluates every listed strike price as a hypothetical closing price at expiration. For each candidate strike, it calculates the cumulative intrinsic value of the options that would be In-The-Money (ITM). The strike resulting in the lowest absolute loss value is defined as Max Pain. The script performs this calculation both on the total sample of contracts (Max Pain) and by isolating the short-term component (Max Pain BT).
New Parameters:
- InputshowTable: Shows or hides the statistical table in the top-right corner.
- valoreTopN: (1 to 20) Number of Open Interest labels to display. showTopNLabels: Enables labels for aggregate Open Interest (all expiration dates) and activates the horizontal line for total Max Pain.
- showBTLabels: Enables labels for Short-Term Open Interest (<=30 days) and plots the Max Pain BT line.
