Market Clock | Candle & Session Timer
Market Clock — Candle & Session Timer
Market Clock is a multi-timeframe trading clock designed to make market timing easier to see at a glance.
Most candle countdown tools answer a single question: How much time is left in the current candle?
Market Clock expands that idea into a compact timing dashboard. It simultaneously tracks the active chart candle, higher-timeframe candle development, and important market-session events so traders can understand not only how much time remains, but where they currently are within the market's timing structure.
MULTI-TIMEFRAME CANDLE CLOCKS
Market Clock monitors three timing layers simultaneously:
Chart Timeframe — automatically follows the active chart
Higher Timeframe 1 — configurable by the user
Higher Timeframe 2 — configurable by the user
Each active candle displays its remaining time alongside its percentage of completion.
This can be particularly useful for traders who use lower timeframes for execution while relying on higher timeframes for confirmation. Instead of switching charts simply to check when a higher-timeframe candle closes, Market Clock keeps those clocks visible from the current chart.
CANDLE PROGRESS
Time remaining tells only part of the story.
Market Clock also visualizes how far each candle has progressed through its lifespan using a segmented progress meter and percentage reading.
This provides immediate context for questions such as:
Is this higher-timeframe candle just beginning, or is it approaching confirmation?
A setup appearing during the first portion of a candle may carry very different implications from the same setup appearing moments before that candle closes.
As candles approach completion, the progress display changes state to make late-stage candles easier to recognize.
CLOSING WARNING
The final seconds of a candle can be particularly important when waiting for candle-close confirmation.
Market Clock includes a configurable Closing Warning Threshold. When an active candle enters this window, its timer changes state and the dashboard status changes to CLOSING.
This makes approaching closes visible without requiring the trader to continually watch the countdown.
MARKET EVENT COUNTDOWNS
Trading does not occur only according to candle boundaries. Important market-session transitions have their own clocks.
Market Clock currently tracks:
NY Cash Open
Countdown to the 9:30 AM New York equity-market open.
London Close
Countdown to the London session close.
These events appear in a dedicated Next Events section and automatically roll forward to the next trading day.
When an event enters the configurable Event Soon Threshold, Market Clock highlights the approaching event and changes its overall status to EVENT SOON.
DESIGNED FOR MULTI-TIMEFRAME TRADERS
Market Clock can complement many trading styles, but it was designed especially with multi-timeframe analysis in mind.
A trader might, for example, execute from a 5-minute chart while simultaneously monitoring the completion of the 1-hour and 4-hour candles. The lower timeframe provides execution detail while Market Clock keeps the larger timing structure visible.
This can be useful for:
Candle-close confirmation
Breakout and rejection setups
Multi-timeframe confluence
Session-open preparation
Intraday and swing-trading workflows
Traders waiting for higher-timeframe confirmation before execution
CUSTOMIZATION
The dashboard can be adapted to different workflows. Traders can independently control the chart-timeframe clock, two higher-timeframe clocks, progress meters, market-event countdowns, status display, dashboard position, text size, warning thresholds, and other display elements.
This allows Market Clock to function as either a compact candle timer or a more complete multi-timeframe timing dashboard.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Price receives most of a trader's attention, but time is the other axis of every chart.
A candle's meaning develops not only from where price trades, but from how much time remains before that information becomes finalized.
Market Clock was built around that idea.
Instead of asking only:
“Where is price?”
Market Clock adds another question:
“Where are we in time?”
For traders who wait for closes, monitor several timeframes, or structure trades around major session transitions, that context can be just as valuable. Indicator

All-in-One: Symbol, TF, Weekday Labels, Countdown/ClockAll-in-One: Symbol+TF • Weekday Labels • Countdown/Clock
Version 1.0.0
Chart-furniture dashboard that puts four everyday reference pieces on one indicator: a symbol / timeframe / date table, forex-session weekday labels along the bottom, an on-chart candle countdown, and a right-hand Clock and Countdown Panel showing the London clock, the candle countdown and the current candle's open and close time. Each piece toggles on or off independently.
WHAT IT DRAWS
• Symbol and timeframe table: a bottom-right table showing the ticker, the chart timeframe and the current date (weekday plus day-month). Works on every timeframe from seconds up to weekly.
• Weekday labels: forex-session weekday text along the bottom of the chart, drawn on 5m to 4h charts only. Each label is projected forward onto the next session, so the text shows the upcoming day.
• On-chart candle countdown: a floating label to the right of the last bar counting down to the current bar's close, with per-timeframe control over how far right it sits.
• Clock and Countdown Panel: a middle-right table showing any of three rows: the candle countdown, the live London clock, and the current candle's open and close time. The panel sizes itself to the visible rows and stays vertically centred.
HOW IT WORKS
• The countdown reads the time remaining to the current bar's close and updates live. It shows on daily and below (not on weekly or monthly), and a Visibility timeframe input restricts it further if you want it only on the lower timeframes.
• The Clock and Countdown Panel's live clock reads real time, while the candle-time row reads the bar you are on. In Bar Replay the candle time tracks the scrubbed-to bar while the live clock keeps real time. Each of the three rows toggles independently and there is no master toggle: turn all three off to hide the panel.
• The weekday labels draw on 5m to 4h charts only. Below 5m the fixed forward projection (a bar count) throws them far off-screen, and on seconds charts the offset maths mis-places them, so both are gated out. A marker is drawn at each session's open bar but pushed forward so it renders over the next session, which is why Monday's marker reads "Tue", Tuesday's reads "Wed", and so on. Friday reads "Mon", projecting across the closed weekend so Monday's session still gets a label. The Sunday-evening open is not traded, so it is intentionally not labelled.
• Opacity inputs read as true opacity: 0 is invisible and 100 is solid.
EXTENDED TRADING HOURS WHERE THE SYMBOL OFFERS THE CHOICE
The weekday labels need the overnight session-open bar to exist in the data. On any symbol that offers a Regular / Extended hours choice (for example DE40, and some FX feeds), set the chart's Session to "Extended trading hours" (Chart Settings, Symbol, Session, Extended trading hours). On Regular Hours the session-open bar is trimmed out of the series, so the weekday labels simply do not appear. Only the weekday labels depend on this: the countdown, the live clock, the candle time and the symbol/timeframe table read the current bar or real time and work either way. Symbols that trade one continuous session (for example US500, USTEC, XTIUSD) have no such option and are unaffected.
WHAT IT RUNS ON
It runs on any instrument. Only the weekday-label placement is instrument-dependent, so on untested symbols confirm the day labels land where you want them. Tested on ICMarkets data across forex pairs, DE40, XAUUSD, USTEC, US500, XTIUSD and US30.
HOW TO USE
Add it to any chart. Use the symbol/timeframe table and the live clock as an at-a-glance header, and the countdown to see how long the current bar has left. On a 5m to 4h chart, turn on the weekday labels to mark each upcoming session along the bottom (enable Extended Trading Hours first if the symbol offers the choice). Open the Clock and Countdown Panel's candle-time row when working in Bar Replay to read the open and close of the bar you are scrubbed to.

MTF Candle Countdown: Multi-Timeframe Close Timer ⏳ Know exactly how long until your candles close — on up to 4 timeframes at once, in one clean panel.
Stop switching charts to check the 1H or 4H while you trade the 5m. See every countdown you care about in one place.
──────────────────────────
✅ WHAT IT DOES
Shows a live countdown to candle close for up to 4 timeframes you choose, side by side. Each row shows the timeframe, the time left, and the exact clock time that candle will close.
──────────────────────────
⚙️ WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL
• Up to 4 timeframes — pick any, turn each on/off
• Corner — any of the 4 chart corners
• Font size — Small, Medium, or Large
• Text + background colors
• Close-time column — show/hide, and choose its timezone
• Near-close highlight — a row turns amber in the final seconds before close
──────────────────────────
🔔 ALERTS (two independent switches, both optional)
• "Closing soon" — fires shortly before a candle closes (your heads-up)
• "Candle closed" — fires the moment a candle closes (your confirmation)
Turn on either, both, or neither.
──────────────────────────
🌍 TIMEZONE — SET IT ONCE
PulseWire scripts can't read your chart's timezone, so pick yours in the "Close-time timezone" setting (New York, London, Tokyo, UTC, etc.). Set it to match your chart and the close times line up perfectly. Daylight saving is handled automatically.
──────────────────────────
ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW
• A countdown timeframe must be the same as or higher than your chart timeframe. (A 1-minute countdown needs a ≤1-minute chart.) Rows below your chart timeframe show a gentle "use ≤Xm chart" reminder.
• Works on any symbol — crypto, forex, futures, stocks.
• On closed markets the countdown pauses until trading resumes (this is normal for all indicators).
• Not designed for Bar Replay — use it on a live chart.
──────────────────────────
🚀 HOW TO USE
1. Add to your chart
2. Open settings (gear icon)
3. Choose your timeframes, timezone, colors, and corner
──────────────────────────
👨💻 FOR DEVELOPERS / AUTOMATION
Set "Alert message format" to JSON event and the alerts emit a structured, webhook-ready payload (sent as application/json):
{"ticker":"BTCUSD","exchange":"COINBASE","timeframe":"4H","event":"closed","price":60800.5,"time":1749264000000}
("closing_soon" events also include "seconds_left".)
This is a TIMING EVENT source, not an order engine — it tells you WHEN a candle closes, with no buy/sell baked in (a countdown has no direction). Route the event to your webhook receiver or bridge (CrossTrade, NinjaView, your own listener, n8n, etc.) and map it to your platform's order format there. Each event fires once per candle (no spam). Prefer "Plain text" format for human phone/email alerts.

How to use: Simply add the indicator to your chart. To customize its appearance to fit your specific layout, hover over the indicator title on the top left of your chart and click the "Settings" (⚙️) gear icon. Check or uncheck your preferred display me Indicator

XAUMO TIMING DashboardXAUMO Timing Dashboard
Open-source UTC timing dashboard for traders who want better awareness of bar timing, session timing, overlap windows, holidays, and major USD event timing directly on the chart.
This indicator was built around a practical idea:
many traders watch price very closely, but they do not always watch time with the same discipline.
A setup can look good technically, but timing still matters:
- the bar may be seconds away from closing
- the 4H candle may be about to roll
- London may be close to ending
- New York may be opening
- a session overlap may be starting
- a major USD event may be near
This script helps bring that time awareness onto the chart in one compact dashboard.
WHAT THE INDICATOR DOES
XAUMO Timing Dashboard displays:
- current bar countdown
- higher-timeframe countdown
- official session countdown
- pre-market countdown
- after-market countdown
- major session countdowns
- overlap countdowns
- holiday awareness
- next major hard-coded USD event timer
- visual controls for text size, text color, background colors, and visibility toggles
Everything is displayed in UTC to keep the workflow consistent across symbols, brokers, and locations.
WHY IT CAN BE USEFUL
This tool is designed for traders who want to reduce timing mistakes.
It can help answer questions like:
- How much time is left before this candle closes?
- How close is the 4H close?
- Is London still active?
- Is the London / New York overlap running?
- Is a holiday affecting market participation?
- Is a major USD event getting close?
It does not predict market direction.
It improves timing awareness.
WHO IT MAY HELP
This indicator may be useful for:
- intraday traders
- scalpers
- session traders
- gold traders
- FX traders
- CFD traders
- traders who work with UTC-based timing models
- traders who want session and macro timing visible on-chart
HOW IT IS CODED
The script is written in Pine Script and uses an on-chart dashboard table.
The logic includes:
- countdown calculations from the current bar and a selected higher timeframe
- configurable UTC windows for official, pre-market, and after-market phases
- session state detection for major trading sessions
- overlap detection between major sessions
- hard-coded holiday packs
- hard-coded USD tier-1 event timestamps
- user controls for visibility and styling so the board can stay minimal or detailed depending on preference
The goal is practical chart awareness, not signal generation.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- This is a timing and awareness tool, not a buy/sell signal tool.
- It does not replace your own execution model, risk management, or market analysis.
- Session definitions can vary by broker and symbol, so official / pre-market / after-market windows are user-editable.
- Holiday and economic-event data in this version are hard-coded and should be reviewed and refreshed over time.
- Always confirm major event timing with your own trusted calendar before live trading.
OPEN-SOURCE AND COLLABORATION
This script is published open-source so traders and coders can inspect the logic, learn from it, and adapt it to their own workflow.
Constructive collaboration, improvement ideas, and responsible open-source contributions are very welcome.
If you build on this script or reuse any part of it in a publication, please respect PulseWire House Rules and provide proper credit where required.
FINAL THOUGHT
Charts show price.
XAUMO Timing Dashboard helps show timing.
For traders who care about candle close, higher-timeframe rollovers, session transitions, overlaps, holidays, and macro-event awareness, this tool is designed to make time more visible on the chart. Indicator
