What it is
VWAP is the benchmark institutions measure their own fills against — the market's running notion of fair value. Standard-deviation bands around it map where price is stretched relative to that benchmark. This indicator runs an anchored VWAP with three band pairs and turns them into a structured, non-repainting decision tool rather than a plain VWAP line.
How it works
• Anchored VWAP — volume-weighted average price accumulated from a chosen anchor (session, week or month) with a controlled reset, so the reference restarts cleanly each period.
• Sigma bands — three pairs of bands at one, two and three standard deviations of price around VWAP, computed from the same volume-weighted variance. These define the stretch zones.
• Value state — every bar is classified with a z-score into cheap, fair or expensive relative to VWAP. This drives the colour system and the dashboard.
• Mean-reversion fades — when price is stretched to the outer bands against the higher-timeframe trend and then reclaims back inside, a fade toward VWAP is signalled. The reclaim requirement is deliberate, so you are not blindly catching a falling knife.
• Trend-pullback entries — in a trend, a retracement to VWAP or the first band that holds is a discount entry in the trend direction. Both playbooks are labelled by type, and Buy/Sell are mutually exclusive with a minimum-gap control.
Trade levels
Each signal draws a red risk box to the ATR stop and a green reward box to the third target, with inner dividers and right-edge labels for entry, stop and each take-profit. For reversion signals the first target is clamped toward VWAP so it always sits on the profit side of entry.
The dashboard
An adjustable value-ladder panel shows the value state, the z-score, the trend bias, the active playbook and signal, a conviction estimate, and a live first-target-before-stop tally from closed bars only.
How to use it
• Choose the anchor that matches your style: session for intraday, week or month for swing context.
• Fade the outer bands only against the trend and with a reclaim; take pullbacks to VWAP with the trend.
• Works across assets and timeframes, though the anchor should suit the timeframe you trade.

A regression-driven block-trade detector that infers the implied size of an off-tape institutional order from the residual between price movement and volume — and turns that residual into an estimated lot count. The premise is straightforward: when a single large order moves price meaningfully more than the visible volume would justify, the gap is the size of the hidden order that absorbed the move. Large Lot Reverse Engineer models that relationship, flags the outliers, and estimates the size.
The core idea — what price movement is "worth"
In normal conditions there is a stable statistical relationship between volume and the magnitude of a bar's return. A rolling regression over a configurable window (default 60 bars) estimates expected volume as a function of return — i.e., for the move you just saw, how much volume should there have been?
The residual is the difference between actual and expected volume, Z-normalised by its own rolling stdev. Two signs of residual matter:
Implied block (residual Z ≥ +threshold) — more volume traded than the price move warrants. Someone large was on the passive side absorbing aggression. The direction of the bar tells you which side.
Thin market (residual Z ≤ −threshold) — price moved on suspiciously low volume. Liquidity was missing; the move was a low-conviction air-pocket.
Both reads are institutionally interesting. The first identifies absorbed-aggression — the textbook signature of an institutional block trade. The second identifies regimes where price prints are unreliable.
R² reliability gate
A regression is only meaningful when the underlying relationship is actually there. The script computes the rolling R² of the model and exposes a configurable minimum (default 0.10). When R² falls below the gate the model is considered unreliable; the dashboard cell turns warning-coloured and the script tags any signals fired in that regime as low-confidence. This is the difference between a real residual reading and a noise residual — a professional read forbids the same.
Significant block sizing
Three thresholds are stacked:
Implied Block Sigma (+) (default 2.0σ) — baseline implied-block trigger.
Thin Market Sigma (−) (default 2.0σ) — baseline thin-market trigger.
Significant Block Sigma (default 3.0σ) — above this the bar is rendered with a polygon glyph and gets an estimated lot-size badge . Empirical scaler converts residual-volume into a lot count.
The size unit is configurable: Shares/Coins for spot instruments, Notional USD for size in dollars (using a configurable price proxy), or Auto which picks based on instrument. The scaler is exposed because no single conversion factor is universally correct — calibrate to your instrument's typical notional.
Cluster detection
When N blocks fire inside a rolling window (configurable, default 3 in 5 bars) the Block Cluster alert fires. Cluster signals are the strongest read this script produces — they indicate sustained off-tape activity, not a single statistical outlier.
Visual system
Residual Z histogram — bars coloured bull/bear by direction, magnitude by residual.
Threshold lines at ±2 and ±3 with on/off toggle.

How to read it
Three reads, in order of conviction:
Block Cluster + high R² — the highest-conviction read. Multiple statistically-significant blocks inside a window, with the underlying model reliable. Institutional flow is actively moving size.
Significant block (3σ+) at a known level — a single large polygon glyph at a key support/resistance is a textbook absorbed-print read. The lot-size badge gives you a magnitude proxy you can compare across bars.
Thin market warning — when the residual goes deeply negative, treat any move you see with extreme caution; the tape is hollow. Often precedes either a violent move once real flow returns or a fade back to fair value.
Suggested settings
Defaults (60-bar window, R² ≥ 0.10, ±2σ block, +3σ significant) are tuned for 5m–1H on liquid futures, FX, and large-cap equity. For lower timeframes drop the window to 30 and raise the sigma thresholds to 2.5σ / 3.5σ to filter noise. For daily and above, widen the window to 100+ and consider log returns for instruments with large price scales.
Originality

Implied block size is an inference from residual statistics, not a direct read of off-tape trades. The cone is constructed using the **square-root-of-time rule**, a foundational principle of financial mathematics. At each forward bar `t`, the projected price boundaries are calculated as:

**Navy Core (±1σ interior):** The highest-probability zone. Statistically, ~68% of all future closes are expected to land here. This is where price "wants" to stay in a low-volatility regime.
**Teal Upside Zone (+1σ to +2σ):** The upside risk corridor. Price entering this zone is statistically elevated — possible, but in the outer 14% of expected outcomes.

## Trading Applications
### 1. Cone Width as Regime Filter
The most important signal is the **width of the cone itself**, not where price is within it.
- **Tight cone** = low volatility, compressed range → range-bound playbook (fade edges, mean revert to midline)
- **Wide cone** = high volatility, expanded range → momentum playbook (ride direction, wider stops)
Never take a counter-trend trade in a wide, expanding cone. Never chase a breakout in a tight, contracting cone.
### 2. Price at 1σ Edge = Mean Reversion Setup
When price reaches the projected +1σ or −1σ label price, it has statistically entered the outer 32% of expected outcomes.

- In a **stable** or **contracting** regime: high-conviction mean reversion entry with defined risk to the 2σ line
- In an **expanding** regime: possible breakout continuation — wait for candle confirmation before fading
- Use the 2σ label price directly as a hard stop level for trades taken inside the cone
### 4. Vol Regime Arrow as Trade Filter
The regime classification in the dashboard acts as a meta-filter over all other signals.
- **▲ EXPANDING (red):** Do not counter-trend trade. Only take momentum entries in the direction of the move or stay flat. Cone edges are likely to be broken.
- **▼ CONTRACTING (green):** Volatility is compressing. A breakout is loading. Watch for the first expansion candle and trade the direction of the break. This is often the highest R:R setup the cone generates.
- **─ STABLE (white):** Range conditions active. Mean reversion setups at σ edges are highest probability in this state.
### 5. Stop Placement Reference
The σ label prices at the cone's right edge provide statistically-grounded stop levels:
- **Conservative stop:** Beyond ±2σ label (95% of moves contained)
- **Standard stop:** Beyond ±1σ label (68% of moves contained)
- **Tight stop:** A fixed percentage of the ±1σ distance
This gives every trade a volatility-adjusted stop rather than an arbitrary fixed-pip or percentage stop.

## Asset Class Notes
**Crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, etc.):**
Parkinson is recommended over Close-to-Close due to large intrabar ranges common in 24/7 markets. Cone will be noticeably wider than equities at equivalent timeframes, reflecting structurally higher realized volatility. The 2σ touch setup is especially reliable on 4H BTC during STABLE regimes.
**FX:**
Parkinson works well. Forward Bars of 10–15 on 4H aligns well with typical intraweek swing durations. Cone width is generally tighter than crypto, making σ edge touches more frequent.
**Equities / Indices:**
Garman-Klass recommended for intraday. Close-to-Close is standard for daily and above. Be aware that equity close-to-close can underestimate true vol during earnings season — consider switching to Garman-Klass temporarily.
**Commodities:**
Parkinson preferred. Energy and agricultural commodities have gap and range behavior similar to crypto.

## Technical Notes
- The cone redraws on every bar close. It is anchored to the current close and always projects forward from the most recent confirmed price. This is expected behavior — not a repaint flaw.
- Fills are capped at 16 segments per zone to remain within Pine Script's linefill object limit (~50 total). At default 15 forward bars, all fills render completely.
- The annualization factor is automatically adjusted for timeframe: Daily (√252), Weekly (√52), Monthly (√12), and intrabar (derived from `timeframe.in_seconds()`).
- All price labels use comma-formatted output (e.g., `74,161.34`) for readability at large price scales.

Multi-Sigma Bands [fmb]Multi-Sigma Bands plots standard deviation (sigma) bands around a selectable basis (SMA, EMA, RMA, or Linear Regression). It’s designed to help you spot when price is behaving “normally” versus when it’s stretching into statistically extended territory.
What it shows
- Basis: the central reference line (your chosen basis type)
- ±1σ zone: the common range where price spends much of its time
- ±2σ zone: extended range where moves often become more emotional or trend-driven
- ±3σ zone: extreme range where price is statistically stretched (risk increases)
How to read it
- Inside ±1σ
- Often normal behaviour and mean-reverting price action around the basis.
- Between ±1σ and ±2σ
- A meaningful extension. In trends, price can “walk” these areas for longer than expected.
- Between ±2σ and ±3σ
- Rare extension. Can signal exhaustion, blow-off behaviour, or capitulation depending on direction and context.
How traders typically use it
- Trend context
- In strong uptrends, price may ride the upper bands (+1σ to +2σ) repeatedly.
- In strong downtrends, the lower bands (-1σ to -2σ) can act the same way.
- Bands show statistical stretch, not automatic reversal signals.
- Extension and risk framing
- The farther price is from the basis, the more “stretched” it is.
- That usually means chasing becomes riskier and entries require tighter confirmation.
- Range behaviour
- Ranges often oscillate around the basis, with frequent returns toward the middle zone.
Settings
- Source: what price series to use (Close by default)
- Length: lookback used for both basis and standard deviation
- Basis: SMA, EMA, RMA, or LinReg
- Stdev smoothing: optional smoothing on standard deviation for cleaner bands
- σ multipliers: customise σ1, σ2, σ3 (defaults: 1, 2, 3)
- Force Monthly Data (optional): calculate bands using a higher-timeframe source to reduce noise and focus on macro structure

Outliers Detector with N-Sigma Confidence Intervals (TG fork)Display outliers in either value change, volume or volume change that significantly deviate from the past.
This uses the standard deviation calculation and the n-sigmas statistical rule of significance, with 2-sigma (a value of 2) signifying that the observed value is stronger than 95% of past values, and 3-sigma 98.5% of past values, and so on for higher sigma values.
Outliers in price action or in volume can indicate a strong support for the move, and hence potentially more moves in the same direction in the future. Inversely, an insignificant move is less likely to be supported. And of course the stronger, the more support.
This indicator also doubles as a standard volume indicator if volume is selected as the source, but with the option of highlighting outliers.
Bars below significance can be uncolored (gray) to unclutter the visuals.
Differently to almost all other similar indicators, the background highlighting is dynamical, so that all values will be highlighted differently, not just 2-sigma or 3-sigma, but also 4-sigma, 5-sigma, etc, with a different value of transparency.
The dynamical transparency value can be calculated in two ways: either statically proportionally to the n-sigma but capped at 10-sigma, or either as a ratio relative to the highest observed sigma value over the defined lookback period (default: 300).

This screener aims to provide Bird-Eye view across sector indices, to find which sector is having significant or 'out-of-norm' move in either direction.
The significance of the move is measured based on Sigma Spikes, a method proposed by Adam H. Grimes, where Standard Deviation of returns used as a baseline.

█ Understanding Sigma Spikes
As described by Grimes, moves in markets are only meaningful when we consider what “normal” is for that market.
Without that baseline, the daily change number, and even the percent change on the day doesn’t really mean much.
To overcome that problem, Sigma Spikes, as a measure of volatility, attempt to put todays change in price (aka return) in context of the standard deviation of 20 days daily's return.
Refer chart below:
1. The blue bars refer to each days return
2. The orange line is 1 time standard deviation of past 20days daily's return (today not included)
3. The red line is 2 time standard deviation of past 20days daily's return (today not included)
Using the ratio of today's return over the Std Deviation, determining your threshold (1,2,3,etc) will be the key that tells if today's move is significant or not.
*Threshold referring to times standard deviation, and different market may require different threshold.
*20 Days period are based on the Lookback Period, adjustable from user input window.

- Scan up to 13 symbols at a time (Bursa (MYX) indices are defaulted, but you may change to any symbols/index from the user input setting)
█ Limitation
- Due to multiple use of security() function required to call other symbols, expect the screener to be slow at certain times
- Custom Timeframe currently accept only Daily and Weekly. I'll try to include lower timeframe in the next update
