HOW THE CONSENSUS WORKS

The engine builds a ribbon of 15 moving averages, spaced from a fast base length
upward (e.g. 10, 18, 26 … 122). Every bar it measures two things across all 15:
• How many is price trading ABOVE?
• How many are SLOPING UP?
These combine into a single CONSENSUS SCORE from 0 to 100:
100% = price above all 15 MAs AND all 15 rising (a fully stacked uptrend)
0% = price below all 15 AND all 15 falling (a fully stacked downtrend)
50% = mixed — the ribbon disagrees
A long signal fires only when consensus rises through your bullish threshold
(default 75%), a short when it falls through the bearish threshold (default 25%).
Half-hearted moves where the ribbon disagrees never trigger.

The moment a signal fires, the engine projects five levels forward and labels each
with its price:
• ENTRY — at the signal close
• STOP LOSS — your risk distance away (ATR or %); this distance defines 1R
• TP1 / TP2 / TP3 — at your chosen R-multiples of that risk (default 1R / 2R / 3R)
Only the most recent signal's plan is shown, so the chart stays clean. The dashboard
mirrors the exact prices, and every alert carries the full plan (Entry/SL/TP1/TP2/TP3)
so it's ready for journaling or automation.

When a market chops, moving averages of every length collapse onto each other — the
ribbon goes flat and thin. The engine measures RIBBON WIDTH (the spread of the 15 MAs,
normalized by ATR) and skips signals whenever the ribbon is compressed below your
threshold. A second Kaufman Efficiency-Ratio gate confirms price is actually trending.
Filtered crosses are drawn faintly (✕) and counted, so you SEE what was avoided.

4. Raise the consensus thresholds and ribbon-width minimum to make signals stricter

• Signals are evaluated on bar close; act on confirmed bars to avoid intrabar flicker.
• A consensus system enters LATER than a single fast crossover — it trades fewer,
higher-quality moves and will sit out fast reversals. That trade-off is the point.
• The TP/SL levels are a risk framework, not a prediction — markets do not owe you 3R.
• Volume MAs (VWMA) and the regime math need reliable data; some synthetic forex/CFD
feeds are less meaningful.

How to Use This Script
Use Caelum as a directional filter. Strong agreement supports trend-following context; mixed readings warn that timeframes are not aligned.
Limitations
The script uses historical OHLCV data and cannot know future prices.
Signals and states can be late during fast reversals because confirmed-bar logic is used to reduce repainting.
Model outputs should be interpreted with market context, risk controls, and independent analysis.
No visual state should be treated as a certain trade outcome.

🔹 Overview
Multi-Oscillator Consensus Engine aggregates ten independent momentum
oscillators into a single regime classifier with overlay Consensus Zones,
flip event labels, and agreement persistence tracking. Instead of watching
ten charts separately, traders see one unified answer: are the oscillators
in agreement, and what is the consensus saying right now?
The script monitors RSI, Stochastic, CCI, MFI, Williams %R, ROC, Ultimate
Oscillator, MACD, DMI balance, and Aroon balance. Each oscillator is
normalized to a 0–100 scale and votes bullish, bearish, or neutral against
configurable thresholds. The aggregated vote determines the market regime
and drives everything else on the chart.
🔹 Unique Edge
Most multi-oscillator tools stop at a dashboard or a simple agreement
percentage. This engine goes further:
- Regime Classification — four distinct states (Consensus Bull, Consensus
Bear, Divergent, Transition) instead of a binary signal.
- Consensus Zones — a horizontal price zone is born at every regime flip
and stays alive while the regime holds. When the regime ends, the zone
becomes historical structure.
- Flip Event Labels — regime transitions are marked directly on price
with merged flip + extreme agreement tags.
- Persistence Tracking — streak bars, last flip distance, and historical
extreme rate tell you how trustworthy the current consensus is.
- Label Discipline — cooldown, horizontal stagger, and flip+extreme merge
logic keep the chart readable even in choppy regimes.
🔹 Methodology
Step 1. Ten oscillators are computed with their classic defaults and
normalized to a 0–100 range. Indicators with native 0–100 output (RSI,
Stochastic, MFI, Ultimate) pass through directly. Others (CCI, ROC, MACD
histogram) are rescaled against their own recent range. Williams %R is
flipped from its native -100..0 scale.
Step 2. Each normalized oscillator casts a vote. Values above the bullish
threshold vote +1, values below the bearish threshold vote -1, everything
else is neutral. Vote counts and agreement percentage are computed bar by bar.
Step 3. Regime is assigned from the vote distribution. Seven or more votes
in one direction triggers Consensus Bull or Consensus Bear. A tight spread
(bull-bear difference ≤ 2) triggers Divergent. Everything else is a
Transition state.
Step 4. On every bull↔bear regime entry, a new Consensus Zone is born at
the current close ± a configurable ATR multiple. The zone extends forward
while the regime is active and locks in place when the regime ends. A
maximum of five active zones keeps the chart clean.
Step 5. Labels are rendered only when cooldown and merge rules allow.
Extreme agreement events (80%+ by default) are either merged into the flip
label or drawn separately with larger offset.

🔹 How to Use
Trend traders: wait for a Consensus Bull or Consensus Bear regime to
establish (streak > 5 bars), then use pullbacks into the active Consensus
Zone as entries in the regime direction. Exit on opposite regime flip.
Reversion traders: Extreme Agreement events mark moments where all
oscillators are stretched in the same direction. These are classic mean
reversion setups. Wait for a regime flip against the extreme, confirmed on
the next bar.
Regime filter: overlay the panel on any chart and use the Regime and
Agreement readings as a binary filter for your primary system. Only take
longs when regime is Bull, only take shorts when regime is Bear.
Works on all timeframes from 1m to 1W. Higher timeframes produce fewer
but higher-conviction signals.
🔹 Limitations & Transparency
- The oscillator votes use normalized thresholds. On extremely narrow
ranges, the normalization may produce unstable votes. Raising the
Bullish/Bearish Thresholds reduces this sensitivity.
- Consensus Zones are drawn from close price at the flip bar. Large wick
bars may place the zone slightly away from the visual pivot.
- The script is not a standalone trading system. It is a confluence and
regime tool to combine with your own structure, volume, or price action
analysis.
- All signals repaint only within the current forming bar. Once a bar
closes and barstate.isconfirmed is true, flip labels and zones are final.

Background
A histogram is a special chart that is applied to statistical data that is divided into numerically ordered groups. For example groups with close relationships in the vicinity like "Close-ref(Close ,1)", "Close-ref(Close,2)" and so on. A histogram provides a snapshot of all the data so that you can quickly get an overview of the historical data, especially its general shape.In a histogram, the bars are linked - in contrast to a bar chart for categorical data, in which the bars represent categories that are in no particular order and are separated. The height of each bar in a histogram indicates either the number of individuals (called the frequency) in each group or the percentage of individuals (the relative frequency) in each group. Each individual in the data set falls into exactly one bar.
Function
L2 Close Histogram Oscillator is a novel overbought and oversold indicator that estimate the trend state by counting a specific bar relationship nearby. Once nearby bars reach consensus, it may spread to global quickly. The reason why I got this inspiration is because I have been engaged in the research of blockchain consensus mechanism. The market is a complex system, and its consensus depends on the common human characteristics: greed and fear. The trend of the market often also conforms to sociological characteristics. Maybe it's a bit complicated for me to say that. However, if you understand the principle of the spread of rumors and viruses, you can understand the situation where some individuals in the market have local consensus and gradually spread to the overall situation. This is the process of trend formation.

buylow --> a small position buy at low price, with height of 30 in lime
longentry --> a confirmed long entry signal by close histogram counter, with height of 40 in green
risk --> oscillator top is reached and trend reversal may happen, with height drop from 100 to 80 in red
Pros and Cons
Pros:
1. since this is based on consensus formation principle, i think this is a leading indicator by spreading local consensus to global
2. it is an oscillator, overbought and oversold can be easily observed.
Cons:
1. the model is not complex enough to depict market behavior exactly.
2. sideways and chop market will make this indicator's output hard to read.
Remarks
This is rare! I combined my previous theory of developing cellular automata with the market to produce such a weird indicator. I hope to inspire everyone and study market behavior in a deeper level.

In real life, I am a prolific inventor. I have successfully applied for more than 60 international and regional patents in the past 12 years. But in the past two years or so, I have tried to transfer my creativity to the development of trading strategies. Tradingview is the ideal platform for me. I am selecting and contributing some of the hundreds of scripts to publish in Tradingview community. Welcome everyone to interact with me to discuss these interesting pine scripts.
The scripts posted are categorized into 5 levels according to my efforts or manhours put into these works.
Level 1 : interesting script snippets or distinctive improvement from classic indicators or strategy. Level 1 scripts can usually appear in more complex indicators as a function module or element.
Level 2 : composite indicator/strategy. By selecting or combining several independent or dependent functions or sub indicators in proper way, the composite script exhibits a resonance phenomenon which can filter out noise or fake trading signal to enhance trading confidence level.
Level 3 : comprehensive indicator/strategy. They are simple trading systems based on my strategies. They are commonly containing several or all of entry signal, close signal, stop loss, take profit, re-entry, risk management, and position sizing techniques. Even some interesting fundamental and mass psychological aspects are incorporated.
Level 4 : script snippets or functions that do not disclose source code. Interesting element that can reveal market laws and work as raw material for indicators and strategies. If you find Level 1~2 scripts are helpful, Level 4 is a private version that took me far more efforts to develop.
Level 5 : indicator/strategy that do not disclose source code. private version of Level 3 script with my accumulated script processing skills or a large number of custom functions.
