STRX - Session Range Traps

STRX - Session Range Traps is a session-based market structure tool designed to map the main intraday sessions (Asia, Frankfurt, London, New York), measure their ranges, and highlight potential liquidity traps around those ranges.
The goal is not to provide automatic entry signals, but to help traders read intraday structure, liquidity pools, and potential manipulation zones more clearly.
How it works
For each configured session, the script:
draws a box from session high to session low, displaying the live range in points;
optionally plots a 50% midline to show the session’s equilibrium;
extends the session range into a defined “hunting” window, where price interaction with the box is monitored.
During the extension window:
When price trades above the session high and then closes back below it, the script flags a potential bearish liquidity trap.
When price trades below the session low and then closes back above it, the script flags a potential bullish liquidity trap.
A compact on-chart dashboard summarizes for each session: current status (ACTIVE / HUNT / DONE), range size and whether price is trading above, below or inside the session range.
Inputs and customization
Session times for Asia, Frankfurt, London and New York are fully configurable so you can adapt them to your broker feed, timezone or instrument (FX, indices, crypto, etc.).
Midlines, trap detection and the dashboard can be individually toggled on/off to match your workflow.
Colors and label sizes are customizable to keep the indicator readable on both light and dark chart themes.
How to use it
Treat the “TRAP” labels as context around liquidity and failed breakouts, not as standalone buy/sell signals.
Combine this tool with your own price action, HTF levels, order-flow or risk management rules.
Always validate the session times for your market and adjust them if necessary.
Limitations & disclaimer
The script does not account for specific exchange holidays or instrument-specific trading halts.
All logic is derived from price behaviour around session highs and lows only.
This script is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice or a guarantee of performance.
You are fully responsible for any trading decisions you make when using this tool.
